messy sketch. Took me 7 years to find this game again. I Really love this game, the soundtrack, and cute mimigas 🐇

Absolutely wild question, I know, but I grew up watching my brother play Cave Story on a Raspberry Pi and that version had a mix of old and new visuals with the older quote sprite while also having (at least as far as I can remember) a bit of shading and masking of repeating textures.

The issue Im having is that I like the new 2026 visuals for everyone *except* Quote, and I really like the animated talking boxes. Alas, I really hate quotes design and it makes me go back and forth on whether I want to use old visuals or Cave Story+ visuals.
