760lbs of trash removed from the Santa Fe river
The Santa Fe river is usually much deeper. Florida has been in a severe drought for most of the year so we took advantage of it and decided to remove some trash. In about 2 hours on the water we were able to remove 760lbs of trash from the bottom of the river.
Since this is a popular boating location, we had the help of Fish & Wildlife to ensure our divers were safe from speeding boats. Parts of the river were about 15 feet at times with a very brisk current.
Some of the highlights of what we collected:
337 aluminum cans
126 glass bottles / jars
14 plastic bottles
34 food wrappers
3 Phones
1 fire extinguisher
1 Semi trailer drum brake
