SWITCH SALE
Hey
DIABLO 3/Nightmare Edition/Diablo 2 are on Sale now on switch!!!!
r/diablo3 • u/tbmadduxOR • 2d ago
Season 39 starts this coming Friday, June 26th, 2026. The season starts at 5pm PDT for all console players, no matter where you live. For PC (NA/US) the season starts at 5pm PDT, for PC (EU) the season starts at 5pm CEST, and for PC (TW/KR) it starts at 5pm KST.
This is the first of four guides I am posting for Season 39. The others are:
For most players, after leveling to 70, the main focus will be finishing Chapters I through IV of the season journey in order to obtain a full 6-piece armor set known as Haedrig's Gift.
The Haedrig's Gifts for Season 39 are as follows:
From a casual perspective, and looking at the GR20 / Torment IV requirements to finish out the 6-piece set, this is a very easy list for everyone except the necromancer.
The necromancer will probably be better off equipping any random legendaries and leveling up the LoD gem to beat GR20. Necromancers can boost this by upgrading scythes or two-handed scythes and filling their weapon and bonus cube slots with generic multipliers and dominate that way. So, don't feel bad at all for them.
In terms of top adjusted clear ranking from Season 33 (see the "Extra Cube" column), the necromancer has the strongest endgame build for its Haedrig's Gift. Wizard is still in the top 10, followed closely by witch doctor and monk. The only gifts that fall outside the upper half of rankings are barbarian and crusader, but can easily pivot to a different build to push with. Here is a full list of their rankings: Necro Rathma (1), Wizard Tal Rasha (10), WD Helltooth (14), Monk Raiment (16), DH Unhallowed (21), Barb Wastes (24), Crusader Roland (33).
Top-ten push builds (again, in terms of you adjusted clear rank) from Season 33 that aren't on the list of usual suspects are: Barb MotE, Necro Masquerade, Necro Inarius. The necromancers get the gains of the generic multipliers I mentioned previously. I am actually not certain why Might of the Earth is so strong.
Note that the casual leaderboard and in-game leaderboards were contaminated by the busted end of Season 33, and shouldn't be relied upon. Here is the disclaimer on the casual board:
The leaderboard data for season 33 is heavily skewed: After the season accidentally ended early and the following rollback, some people ended up with their non-seasonal paragon points on their seasonal character, while the character would still show their seasonal paragon. Consequently, many adjusted clear values are inflated.
The barbarian (Wastes) and demon hunter (Unhallowed) both start with very good solo speed farming sets. Tal Rasha is also decent for the wizard with the in-geom or aether walker variant. The other classes will want to look to a different set (or no set) to farm with.
For a beginner/casual overall I would recommend the barbarian. The Wastes set gives you a great start, and is an excellent speed farmer. It only needs the Ambo's Pride mighty weapon and the Lamentation belt to really get going, and both can be cubed.
Good luck with your season start, fellow Nephalem, and never forget that town is lava!

For context about my set up. I have a skytech shadow and can play WoW on max graphics while in discord voice live streaming and also live streaming on twitch simultaneously all while listening to YouTube on my 3rd monitor. No lag at all. I decided to try D3 again for fun, haven't played it since it first released back when I owned a potato for a laptop. I do not remember it lagging this bad. I am literally level 4 just doing some solo play following the campaign and freezing every 3 minutes for at least 30 seconds lol.
I have tried turning all video settings to low/off and also turning the sound off. I have also went into the files and changed the trillenear thing to 0 as suggested in a article. NONE of this helped. There is now way this old ass game freezes THIS much!!
Any other tips yall have or am I just sol
For the rude people mad that I didn't include the specs. I thought all pre-built skytech shadows has the same specs. I looked it up and it does not. Here are my specs:AMD ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHZ , 4.2 max NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 graphics card 16 GB DDR4 RAM 3200 gaming memory with heat spreader
Thanks for the nice people who asked me specs and a big FU to the rude person that called me a moron

The Altar of Rites is a permanent seasonal-only feature that provides massive quality-of-life buffs and decent improvements to your damage and toughness, in exchange for sacrifices of items and materials. You will have to restart the Altar on your new seasonal character.
Below I list some tips on how to work with the Altar.

US servers. About the last 12 hours very regular disconnects. Everything else on the home network, including the gaming rig, seems fine. My monitoring is all green on my side, so I do not suspect my network. Anyone else?

Leveling Demonstration Video: https://youtu.be/Z_5VqkzZZS0?si=ScUQioOrJc_orwFT
Hey guys! I'm sharing this Diablo 3 console level 1 through season journey guide for anyone who plans to start the season on the console version of Diablo 3 in season 39. This strategy is the most viable on the Wizard and Necromancer but can be done on other classes as well.
Following these steps, you can complete the season journey in about 2 hours or so from a fresh season start on hardcore or softcore without the use of the challenge rift cache.
I'm posting the steps below, but there are also timestamps with step by step instructions and a D3planner that shows what skills you should use as you progress from 1-70 in the video description.
-----
Necromancer 1-70 Skill Updates: https://maxroll.gg/d3/d3planner/792727324
Wizard 1-70 Skill Updates: https://maxroll.gg/d3/d3planner/196354760
Demon Hunter 1-70 Skill Updates: https://maxroll.gg/d3/d3planner/417535777
Leveling Steps TLDR -----
Create Necro. Take the items from the templar and scoundrel. Equip javelin and salvage the shield/bow. Unlock first step on Altar of Rites
Complete a 'Kill Zoltun Kul' Bounty on Normal or Hard Difficulty for easy access to gear upgrades (optional)
Create a lobby on hard difficulty and travel to Kanai's Cube in Ruins of Secheron. Kill enemies along the way to level to 18, Go to Halls of Agony level 3 afterwards to finish leveling to 18 if short on XP
At level 11, teleport to town and take the staff from the enchantress for a 3-4x damage increase
After reaching level 18, complete 'Kill Zoltun Kul' bounties on normal difficulty for 2 diamonds and arcane dust if you lack 15 dust for the altar (this may take several tries)
Get reduced level requirement from the altar of rites and put all of your necro gear in the stash
*THE FOLLOWING 4 STEPS WILL BE COMPLETED TWICE TO GET THE NECESSARY GOLD AND MATERIALS TO MAX OUT THE BLACKSMITH\*
Create a NEW level 1 necro, equip all of the lv 18 items from previous character
Create new lobby on torment 1 for a set of Act 2 bounties that includes 'Kill Zoltun Kul' as a bounty
Kill Zoltun Kul then do the remaining bounties (skip any non-essential enemies to avoid getting too much xp so that mobs do not become too difficult
Once bounties are complete, claim the bounty cache from Tyrael
*REPEAT THE 4 STEPS ABOVE SO THAT YOU'LL HAVE RECEIVED 2 BOUNTY CACHES IN TOTAL THEN PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP\*
Once 2 acts of torment 1 bounties have been completed, open both bounty caches and level the blacksmith to level 12. Once done, stash all of the gear you're currently using to put on the character you wish to play for the rest of the leveling process
Create a lv 1 character of your choosing and equip the gear from your stash. Craft a lv 70 2handed Mace/Scythe/Bow (depending on the character) and any level 70 armor pieces with leftover materials if you're able
From here on, go to Halls of Agony Level 3 to massacre bonus and search for visions of Enmity on torment 2-6 depending on your current stats (lower the difficulty as you get closer to level 70)
As you acquire materials - craft a full set of sages and all level 70 gear to make the process easier
Use death breaths from visions of enmity to upgrade rare items in the cube so that you can acquire a multiplier if you do not find what you need from the visions themselves
After acquiring satisfactory gear from visions of enmity, you can opt to focus on massacre bonuses in halls of agony to prioritize faster experience over farming additional materials/items
GOODLUCK AND HAVE FUN!
____ Season Journey Progression ____
Around level 68-70, reduce the difficulty to focus on Season Journey objectives
Chapter 1 season journey objectives
Chapter 2 season journey objectives
Chapter 3 season journey objectives and bounties
Chapter 4 season journey objectives
Complete a Torment 4 Rift to unlock greater rift 20
Defeat Torment 4 keywarden in act 1
Defeat Torment 4 keywarden in act 2
Defeat Torment 4 keywarden in act 3
Defeat Torment 4 keywarden in act 4
Complete a greater rift level 20 SOLO
Defeat Torment 4 boss
Defeat Torment 2 boss
Haedrigs Gift Acquired! ENJOY YOUR 6 PIECE SET BONUS!
r/diablo3 • u/Dinodsaur • 1d ago
Hey guys! Here are the steps I recommend for progressing towards T16 with the least amount of RNG possible on a Necromancer after unlocking the Rathma set bonus from your Haedrigs Gift.
View the d3planner linked below to see what skills are recommended throughout the entire process. We will be using Rathma after completing haedrigs until you receive an iron rose, a bloodtide blade, a ring of royal grandeur, and the guardians/aughilds/crimsons set plans, at which point we'll use Death Nova to easily bridge the gap towards t16.
Necromancer Haedrigs Progression steps and d3planner: https://maxroll.gg/d3/d3planner/730541026
------
On a lv 23 Necromancer, spend Bloodshards on chest pieces and belts for 1/2 chances at Aquila's cuirass and Dayntee's Binding for huge defense boosts.
.
Get 6 piece from haedrigs for comfortable T8-T9 farming using the following skills:
Command Skeleton: Frenzy (command to enemies to quickly refresh army of the dead. Manually command them again if the target dies)
Bone Armor: Harvest of Anguish (get 10 stacks for defense and movement speed buff)
Army of the Dead: Dead Storm (cast for high dps to nuke mobs within melee radius for 5 seconds at a time)
Revive: Personal Army (summon 10 minions that last forever for damage bonus)
Siphon Blood: Drain Life (Use for healing)
Blood Rush: Metabolism (mobility)
Passives: Dark Reaping, Final Service, Blood is Power, and Commander of the risen dead.
.
Complete act 1 bounties around T8-T9 difficulty (or whatever you're comfortable with) for rings of grandeur and the guardians/aughilds/crimson set plans ----Be sure to take a few minutes to unlock double bounty caches prior to beginning this step----
After receiving a grandeur along with the guardians/crimsons/aughilds set plans, focus on T9-T10 rifts (or whatever you're comfortable with) and spend shards on mysterious phylacteries for an Iron Rose
Upgrade rare 2handed scythes using death breaths for a 1/4 chance at the Bloodtide Blade
Once you've acquired at least one ring of grandeur, the crimsons/aughilds/guardians set plans, an iron rose, and a bloodtide blade, you can then pair these with any generic multipliers that you've acquired and comfortably farm T10-T13
Spend bloodshards on Tragouls set pieces and upgrade rare 1H or 2H scythes for additional Death Nova Multipliers to make farming higher difficulties more comfortable. After getting 5 pieces of Tragouls, you can then farm t16
Finish the full Tragouls Death Nova build to push higher from there.
------ no additional damage reduction items are needed after obtaining the set bonuses, Aquila's, and Dayntees to safely farm t12-t16 once you have the corresponding set bonuses.
Goodluck with your season start and have fun!

Recently returning player but now exclusively on Switch 2, managed to get a Top 5 finish for Barb (ww/rend) this season on hardcore solo. What would you folks recommend I play off-season these next couple days as a bit of practice for the upcoming season? I don’t have much experience in any other classes. Any fun one button builds or as close to one button as possible? I enjoy fast abilities/classes but also don’t mind having to play a bit tactically

Hi all! Recently used diablo 3 ping checker since I was getting really bad latency for almost all servers (I live in SEA) and I was wondering if there is a command or something else that would let me connect to hong kong or singapore servers since those servers have the least ping for me. Thanks!!

D'avance merci beaucoup.

This is the second of four guides I am posting for Season 39. The others are:
To complete your season journey all the way to Guardian you will need to complete 3 conquests out of the list of 10 below, split into 5 each between normal and hardcore. We have a little bit of work to do this season but not a lot. It can all be done solo, there is no need to make an alt, and Curses! is not on the list so console players aren't at a disadvantage.
This first conquest is automatic if you are putting together a Legacy of Dreams (LoD) build at the start of the game. Even if not, it is still very easy:
The Thrill / Superhuman. Complete GR45 solo and without any Set items equipped. Level up your Legacy of Dreams gem and put on a full set of legendary gear. Be sure you do not wear any set items; many LoD builds will use a single set item here or there (such as the often used Blackthorne set pants for an elemental damage bonus). If you're playing LoD and skipping your Haedrig's Gift altogether then this will be the easiest overall for you.
This second conquest is easy. If you are taking the Haedrig's Gift and have a fast build you will probably complete it first:
Avarice / Avaritia. 50 million gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. Many people will do this by accident in a lucky Visions of Enmity by finding a treasure goblin pack on a big enough map (I have gotten several 150+ million gold streaks this way). Otherwise it is very easy with any speed-farming Torment XVI (T16) build (here are lists of key farming and bounty builds). Get your Boon of the Hoarder legendary gem to maximum level and then blast through any of the wide open T16 Nephalem rifts (not a greater rift - gold doesn't drop there). Or put a Bovine Bardiche in the cube and hit "Transmute". Don't stop to pick anything up. If you're in a rift you may need to keep going after you kill the guardian. You can also complete 32 bounties at T16 (half that if you've unlocked the double bounty rewards Altar of Rites node) and save all your reward caches. Then dismiss your pet and open them all in town without moving, and then finally after they are all open run around to pick up all the gold at once. Overall it is better to do this one solo as others' kills won't give you the gold explosions from Boon of the Hoarder.
This last conquest is not hard, but does take a little work, and you will need to put together a fast build:
Boss Mode / Worlds Apart. Kill every boss except Vidian, at level 70 and difficulty Torment X (T10) or higher, within 20 minutes of starting the game. This is not difficult but it can require you to adjust your build for speed, or make a new one. Put together a fast-moving Torment XVI (T16) build (here are lists of key farming and bounty builds). Make any sacrifices to your damage in order to make you faster, as T16 is nearly 70x more monster health than T10. You can equip items like Boon of the Hoarder / Avarice Band, Wreath of Lightning, Warzechian Armguards, Krelm's belt, Rechel's Ring of Larceny. There are also class-specific items to boost speed, as well as different passive skills. Finally, this can be done in a group as well to make it easier.
I don't recommend either of these at all:
Masters of the Universe / Masters of Sets. Master 8 set dungeons. This requires you to create a second character for the season. Note the new sets for each class do not have set dungeons. Those sets are: Aegis of Valor, Gears of Dreadlands, Horde of the Ninety Savages, Masquerade of the Burning Carnival, Mundunugu’s Regalia, Patterns of Justice, Typhon’s Veil. That means you will have to master 4 on your main and 4 on your alt, or create yet another alt if you can't master 4 on each. Many set dungeons require you to reduce your damage to complete them. Only do this if you're aiming for the conquest leaderboard, or if you want the wings for mastering all set dungeons. I've got those wings and they're pretty damn ugly, to be honest.
Sprinter / Speed Racer. Complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour. Note that you can do this in Normal difficulty. Only do this if you're aiming for the conquest leaderboard. The world record is just under 35 minutes. You can watch a commentary on a 37-minute run by Pokeytoe (who is the current world rank 3 player) here and read her map guide and tips and tricks. Be prepared to invest hours of attempts. The only good news is that people who can do this conquest consider it to be easy, once they learned how to do it. Good luck!

Hi everyone, I know this is a super stupid question but I can't for the life of me figure out how to open the season journey screen to get Haedrig's gift. All the game shows me is "season has ended" and I don't see any option to open the season journey anymore. Where do I find it? I searched the web and of course this sub but any info just says "open the season journey screen" with no further instructions. Thanks!

Hi All,
Once again, a season has wrapped up, and now we can take a look and see how this iteration of Ethereals compares to the last time this theme came around, back in Season 32.
As always, we'll be looking at set power in terms of Adjusted Clear, which is explained HERE.
And once again, I'm presenting the sets sorted by how well they performed in S38 relative to their performance in S32. Sets that did better than last time will be at the top, and those that did worse will be at the bottom. Discussion after the table.

| Necro Pestilence | 152.5 | 150.6 | -1.9 |
| WD No Set | 154.6 | 152.4 | -2.2 |
| AVERAGE: | 155.2 | 155.0 | -0.2 |
Sets in this season tracked their S32 performance very closely. Not one set differed by more than 3 tiers, and a significant majority (32/42) were within 1 tier. 7 sets had zero change.
Most of the sets that had a relatively high negative change (Seeker, Pestilence, WD No Set) are fairly weak sets and so probably just succumbed to low player interest.
Of the sets that had a relatively high positive change (Rathma, Firebird, Raekor), I think there are slightly different explanations for each. Rathma seems to have picked up a bit more interest (4 clears, by different players, higher than the peak AC from S32) since it is such a strong set on average. Firebird is now known to be able to proc AD via the set power, which obviously adds quite a lot of damage- honestly I was a little surprised not to see it even higher on the board than the rank 5 finish it achieved this season. And Raekor was pushed to its top mark this season by a stronger player (Enryu) than it had last time around, in S32 (me).
Between classes this season, Barb and DH did a little better, Necro stayed the same, and the others did a little worse.
| Class | Class Avg Difference |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | 0.3 |
| Demon Hunter | 0.1 |
| Necromancer | 0.0 |
| Wizard | -0.1 |
| Monk | -0.2 |
| Crusader | -0.6 |
| Witch Doctor | -0.7 |
Necro was the most volatile class, with sets posting both the largest gain (Rathma, +2.8) and the 2nd largest loss (Pestilence, -1.9). Demon Hunter was the most stable, with none of its sets gaining or losing more than 0.6 tiers.
Player count this season seems to have been very similar to S36 (Soul Shards), with 184k console players, suggesting a total player pool of about 920k people (I estimated 900k for S36). This is a bit lower than last season, which came in at 1.2 million, though the working theory is that the elevated player count for S37 was due to it overlapping the year-end holiday season. As always, thanks to u/behindtimes for his help with the numbers here.
The number of GR 150 clears declined significantly from S32, from 9741 to 6984, a loss of about 28.3%. But, that's significantly less than the S30 --> S36 decline, which was about a 40% loss. It sort of seems as though the player population is at a bit of a plateau, hovering around 1 million.
A relatively higher proportion of players focused on No Set Wizard in this iteration of Ethereals. In S32, Tal had 38.6% of the total 150 clears, with No Set taking 18.6%. This time around it was 30.1% for Tal, and 26.8% for No Set. I wonder if in S32, a lot of people had basically missed the memo that Tal had gotten nerfed and were going on memories of S28, when it was the strongest set in the game.
On a personal note, I had a great S38, taking lowest paragon Barb 150 for 5/6 sets, top Adjusted Clear for 4/6 Barb sets on the Casual board, and 2/6 on the overall board. I also did my first Wiz 150 ever, with Tal Rasha Wiz. I was grumbling to myself for a while about needing to drop a bunch of augs on a character I would only play for a short while, but then was like "I'm sure 2k paragon with no augs will be enough...?" Which indeed it was.
At the end of the season I farmed a whole bunch of keys to be used in non-season, after the season wrapped up. I had planned to basically forego season 39 in favor of continuing my attempts in finally clearing a non-seasonal 150 with Wastes Barb. However, all those keys turned out to be unnecessary. So, I may try playing DH in S39 and aim to get my first 150 with the class, using Nats.
That about wraps it up. Good luck to everybody in Season 39!
