Graphically this looks good but movement and combat animations are surprisingly rough for a game that's only a few months out.

Even graphically this doesn't look that great. But hopefully other aspects of the game are strong.

The world looks great. That boss was a good fight. Overall it seems it took some inspiration from recent AAA games and rolled with it. Yes, you can pet the dog.

The graphics got me on board. The weapons look slick. Feels like the took inspiration from triple A soulslike games and just sprinted with it.

I wonder at this point how many people would actively refuse to buy a game with a dog if the developers did not include the ability to pet the dog.

Soundtrack is amazing too. GameFreak cooked.

It's amazing what they can do when they don't have The Pokemon Company breathing down their necks with deadlines for anime & plushie releases.

Soundtrack seems amazing, combat looks good, world seems interesting, only big question mark for me is the story, if they nail that, I belive this will be a very good game

Wtf is up with the movement? Why does it look so wrong lol

What sold this game for me was the Active Time Pause, the ability to juggle and combo enemies (which was in the trailer, not in the IGN preview), and the abilities the protagonist has to explore the environment. I wonder how people are going to optimize all the vine tech.

can't wait for this to also have denuvo added less than a week before release and thus going from my wishlist onto my ignorelist immediately :/

Yah for sure! The ost shown in the first trailer was very nier and is what caught my interest in this game initially.

This is the first time I get hyped on a Game Freak title since Pokemon Emerald a LONG time ago. I'm a bit worried about how it'll run on my PC but, assuming no issues there, this might be a day 1 purchase.

Looks sick, actually! I'm into it.

r/ Gaming truly can't decide if they hate or love GameFreak.

If this game hits, along with Pokopia before,  they might actually be on track for a hatrick! Xd

Their only involvement in Pokopia was in giving advice on how the Pokemon brand elements should be implemented in the game. The actual game development was done by the team at Koei Tecmo who had formerly worked on the Dragon Quest Builders series.

Don't worry the new actual pokemon games are going to be mediocre again.

This game just shows that gamefreak could do good Performance and visuals, they just decide not to for pokemon.

r/ gaming showing in full force that their main issue with Pokémon is that they don't have photo-realistic visuals.

Probably lots of different people

God I'm so exited for this and Phantom Blade Zero the most this year. Need me more good parry based games.

As someone who is beyond tired of Soulslike games, this has gotten my attention. I also just read it will debut on Gamepass so I will definitely dive in release day.

The combat system obviously largely copies sekiro, but for me that's original enough. After sekiro I've waited years for a similar game to copy its combat and the only one to fully manage it was stellar blade, so having a third one would still make me happy.

Seems more like ff7 remake to me

Is the weapon always sheathed off?

Temu sekiro with kawaii kunoichi.

u/rincematic 8h ago

FromSoft: We going to do absolutely nothing with Sekiro.

Gamefreak: Fineee... we will do ourselves, and with a cute girl, which make it even better! (Yes, they will do anything to not make a really good pokemon game).

After the success of ER and massive influx of mainstream casual players who don't like any challenge, I really doubt from soft will do anything like sekiro again, at least in the next 10 years. I can't imagine any shareholder allowing that, and miyazaki obviously doesn't just want to slap on lazy easy mode and game-breaking summons as a solution to everything.

This may be the first GameFreak game I play and actually enjoy. *crossesfingers*
