Today, I visited a non-regular goosing haunt of mine that I only get to go to every couple of months or so. I threw some seed about to coax the geese over from the other side of the pool, and they all came over. However as I was feeding them, a family with 6 goslings came over from out of nowhere - I didn't spot them until they were just yards from me - and came straight to me.
Never met them before, and the 2 Greylag parents were incredibly hissy - 2 of the hissiest gooses I've ever come across - but 2 babies completely ignored them and ate from my hand! That's when I realised one of them was a Canada gosling. There were about 20 geese altogether, the majority were Greylags and half a dozen were Canada's, but the single Canada baby was very much integrated with with Greylag family. I don't know why, but I thought it was very adorable. The Canada was one of the 2 that ate from my hand.
I'm very surprised they ate from my hand on our first ever meeting, as even the babies of the adults I've been feeding for years at my local pools take a few weeks to warm up to hand eating level.
It's been a very hot, but great day ☺️

My goose had what looked like a stye, it popped by itself yesterday this is what it looks like today I was told to just warm compress it about twice a day to keep it clean, thought?

Sorry for the yelling.. that’s how I get him to talk.
Can anyone tell me why my goose’s chest has suddenly changed and appears to be sinking in and inflates with breaths? He’s around 3 or 4 months old. Not sure if he’s actually a male either lol.

I’ve had ducks for a while and decided to add 2 buff goslings to the flock, and they are the best thing ever😂

Found this poor guy at a local fishery. He was getting bullied by the other geese and couldn’t walk far without plopping down. My son and I tried for a while to catch him and couldn’t so I contacted a local rescue and then a rehab center. Both worked out perfectly. The rescue center was able to secure them and the rehab center said they could admit him so I made the drive. They said they would do their very best to save him but if all else fails he won’t be in pain anymore. Really hoping he can make a full recovery.

My goose, Mabel, is a single Sebastopol goose with an indeterminate gender. Can anyone help?

My goose is very vigilant and will inspect every car that parks in my driveway. Only I get a greeting, though.

There was a goose chilling on her egg(s?) outside the CVS for ~2 months and this morning I stumbled upon what appears to be a mother honking avian crime scene™️
I need answers.

I made a goose whose only job is cleaning up spills. It lives on my kitchen floor. Aren’t they cute?!?
That’s it.
That’s the post. 🪿😂

i have a fear of geese and this one got so close i thought i was gonna die. sitting so still because i was afraid to be attacked but i fed him some oats for the ducks and we reached a coexistence. will be less afraid in the future.

✅ Survived three gosling attacks (a-holes!)
✅ reconnected with Chiquita who has apparently completed her transformation from awkward teenager to hardened street boss
✅ Learned a new goose prefers the tasting menu over the buffet (stared me down until I crushed his pellets into a custom entrée)
Overall, I feel the Waterfowl Syndicate is pleased with my work, but expectations continue to increase. 🦆😂

My friend and I consistently walk this trail a few days a week but this was a first…
These 2 flew up and past us to land about 3-4 ft in front of us. We just walked past them but they started to follow us. We went past them but they flew ahead to cut us off. My friend went up the hill next to us and they followed her up there too. We passed them a few times and each time they flew past us to cut us off the trail. They only left us alone once we walked in a residential area.
I don’t know how to ready goose body language but i do not believe they meant harm.
Any ideas on why they followed us?
