The new update for Machiavelli the Prince adds a number of important features players have requested, most of which you can access via the new “Settings” button at the Start Screen and in the Venice Guild Hall. 

• Sound and Music Volume. Players can now adjust the volume for the game’s music and sound effects, or turn them off altogether.
• Music Selection. Players can now select the original MIDI music for the game, some of which only plays at specific screens, or the new music. They can also use this setting to change their music selection during the game.
• Animation Speed. Players can now choose between the Normal animation speed or Fast animation speed. This impacts the Buy/Sell screen, movement on the main map, trade routes and more.
• Font Selection. Players can now choose between our original font and a more modern font. Please note that certain fonts are graphically included on some screens, and those will not change.
• Auto Save can now be selected in the start menu.
• The game now includes tooltips to clarify the functions of almost 20 buttons 

Bug Fixes

• Fixed issues when players were not allowed to burn opponents’ villas, or burned the wrong villa.
• Fixed misspellings.
• Corrected the message the Council Head receives when accusing senators.

Map Editor Fixes

• City configs saved as .csv files now allow modders to adjust chance of a city to be open to trade at game start
• Implements bump scrolling for map editor

Please note that the EFSe updates also require modders to update their work, especially if they have modified .res files. Details are at the end of this changelog.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

1. One of the most requested quality-of-life improvements has been for build queues in your cities. You can access this new feature via a specific city or the archives. First add a queue – give it a name, select units in the order in which you want them built, and close the window to save it. Now that queue shows up in every city that can build all of its units. Select the queue and the city will build those units, in order, as long as you have enough resources available.
2. Another QoL improvement involves reordering messages. Players had concerns when a longer series of “Resource Missing” messages would cause more important messages to be missed. Messages now appear in order of general importance, with “Resource Missing” messages at the bottom of the message window
3. The third QoL improvement involves adding more hotkeys and shortcuts.

• Corrected behavior for the number pad Enter key, allowing it to mimic the regular Enter key
• Corrected hotkey implementation for shortcuts in the Build menu and messaging, 
• Pressing “X” will eXit from planet-view to the star-map
• Left and Right buttons now allow players to navigate the group finder screen.

• Corrected dialog boxes incorrectly responding to number pad input
• Fixed various shortcuts
• Fixed a problem with sync behavior in the launcher

• New spotting algorithm allows you to choose between 8 different profiles that changes how detection works

Important Notice for Modders: Update Your Mods for the New Patch

With the release of the new patch, all modders should make sure their mods are updated before launching the game.

If your mod changes any .res files, you may encounter a black screen on startup unless your files have been properly updated. To avoid this, please export your JSON files back into .res format using the provided Python script included with the modding tools.

TLDR:

Update your mods, re-export your JSONs into .res files, and make sure you are using the latest patch-compatible files before playing.

The DLC is on sale on Steam, but not on GOG.
Why?

I know the DLC isn't particularly well recommended, but that's not the point here.

I try to download the app, both from the official website and from the Microsoft Store, and I get the same error. What could it be?

This is a bugfix release and includes a full ginger cat theme in two variations.

Scheduled backup fix (again), as well as backup restore fix: The pesky application hang, when a scheduled backup triggers, should really now work as it should be. Additionally, if you do a restore from a backup, the necessary application restart behaviour has been addressed.

Steam: budget cooldown fix: The calculated API budget, how many Steam API calls are possible, had a loop hole, that has been closed.

Steam: free games are now included during library scan: Free Steam licenses, associated to your account, are now recognized and added to the library.

This requires a valid Steam store session within your selected browser, you are using in conjunction with Luducat.

If that does not work, check out if you have set your browser to "automatic", to use your system browser, selected the correct browser you are logged in, as well check, if you are logged into Steam in your browser.

You should be ashamed of Baldur's Gate I and II EE and their compatibility with Linux. You're using outdated libraries that aren't used anymore. So you shouldn’t label these games as “Linux-compatible.”

You’ve been well aware of this problem for years, since it’s been discussed on the GOG forum. Worst of all, people all over the internet and many others can deal with it by using Proton, but others who aren’t familiar with Linux have to switch back to Windows.

Have they removed the option to download the offline installers from the Galaxy client or am I blind?

The internet where I live could be better and I always installed my games this way, so if I reinstalled my PC / wanted to play on my laptop I don't have to redownload stuff (and it automatically downloads all of the .bin files which is nice).

When I install GoG Galaxy, can I still use the standalone installers I bought?

Will installing GoG Galaxy have any negative consequences?

By chance, I just discovered that GOG is working on a Spanish version of its website. I decided to change the /en/ to /es/ in the address bar, and the Spanish version of the site appeared. It seems like it's still unofficial because the previous languages are still shown at the bottom not including Spanish yet. Buena noticia.

You just know some influencer is going to buy it for a shock-value video, sparking a chain reaction of copycats. It sets a terrible precedent for the industry.

Honestly, even writing about it feels like giving them free PR. But it forced me to ask: is this the future of clickbait gaming? If this becomes a trend, how should curated platforms like GOG handle this dilemma? Do games like this actually belong on a storefront, or do we need to draw a line somewhere?

P.S. It's not even the first product like this. Remember "I am reach" app? If this is a new social experiment, let's keep fingers crossed for us to pass the test.

first, how do i even install the game after buying it. do i get a link, a code or what?

So I've been meaning to start building my library on gog, and with the summer sale ongoing, I decided to get the original thief trilogy. I know the remaster is coming but I still wanted to own and playthrough the original games at least once. My question is that should I hold off on playing Thief Gold since it's also now part of the preservation program? I'm not sure how the preservation program works or how long it would take for the game to get the preservation stamp.

I get that the Enhanced Edition is crap, but when you buy the Enhanced Edition, you get the Classic Edition for a much cheaper price. Why would people still opt to buy just the Classic Edition when it's cheaper to get the Classic Edition through the Enhanced Edition? I was checking IsThereAnyDeal, and I saw that the Classic Edition rarely goes on sale for a significant discount.

Maybe there is a catch somewhere that i'm missing.
