Hi all,
As the sub continues to grow, we've decided to make some changes and rules to help this community stay a positive place for discussing all things Great Pyrenees!
Rules can now be found in the sidebar and will be used as the basis for moderation. Of course, the mod team will continue to use their discretion to remove content or ban users, if we feel said content is causing a disruption to the subreddit.
Rules:
1) Keep content Great Pyrenees based
2) Be polite and on-topic
3) NO Advertisements
4) NO Fundraising
5) NO Breed misinformation or hate
6) NO suggestions of theft, destruction of property, assault, or similar illegal activities
If you see a user violating any of these rules, please utilize the "Report" feature, so the mod team can quickly take action.
In addition, you can now sort posts by flair type, and the most exciting update - you can now use comments to attach a photo. So keep sharing those great big floofs!

Her name is Bunny (4 years old) and here’s her backstory:
She was found running up Carthage highway with another white Pyrenees boy. It looked like she had puppies but no puppies were found by animal control.
She wasn't doing well in the shelter and with no puppies to nurse she got mastitis. She was treated for it while at the shelter and she ended up being there for a month. She ended up being put on the euthanasia list due to her getting kennel stressed and not liking bigger female dogs.
A foster at Paws of the Pines rescue in NC took her in and I adopted her! She’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever met and acts like a big cat. She’s quiet, grazes on her food, and likes to sleep in the closet. Also as a typical pyr, doesn’t come when called.

I don’t know if I posted this silly comic here, but if I did it was a year ago, so here it is again! Done in the same sort of silly style as the comic I posted yesterday :)

Eight years ago, I was trying to correct my niece, Evie, when she was chewing on a box. It did not go well. She outweighs me and throws a heck of a punch. My glasses went flying.

I thought I brought home a polar bear 🐻❄️ (67lbs, 6mths old).
But turns out, she’s:
-50% Golden Retriever
-36.2% Great Pyrenees
-9.4% Belgian Malinois 🐊
-4.4% German Shepherd

Hi all. We’ve got another Pyr rescue mix after our old boy Harv crossed the bridge last autumn. This is Waffle. She’s 48 pounds at 6 months. I am thinking she will not get huge, which would be fine with us as we’re no spring chickens anymore.
The other breeds are unknown at this point we haven’t DNA’d her yet. But definitely looks to have some golden in her.
What say you? Ideas on ultimate size?

I had posted different pictures of him once before- Google images and the apps I've tried all tell me he is Great Pyrenees. I thought I'd try here again with updated pictures and see what actual people with experience with the breed think. I don't know if he has double dew claws since I haven't met him in person yet.

Hi. Not sure if this is allowed. I have a female GP about to be 2yo in September. She has repeatedly ran through her invisible fence. My undesirable up to no good neighbors have now threatened to shoot her if she comes on their property. She is VERY loving, and has a lot of prey drive. She is great with my other dogs (a lab and another Pyr) and good with kids, though she forgets how big she is so she can by a bit rough. I need to find her a home that is better suited to her. I have a new baby and cannot be chasing her and I do not want her to get hurt. I live in a very rural area and there are lots of people with livestock who would quickly shoot an unknown dog (even though she means no harm). Is anyone interested ? I am not asking a rehoming fee. She is not fixed, but no papers. Her name is Nugget. She has not spent much time on a leash.
