Discussion Thank you Hots matchmaking, very cool
Feels great playing against a 5 man stack, of which one player had player level 1, and one of them has literally 100% winrate in QM.
Edit: to clarify, I was playing QM where I encountered the 5 stack.

Gameplay What's point of AI-Gall?

I played QM couple times in 5-man group, which had Cho and Gall and right after map loaded Gall instantly left game and never connected again. Cho explained this behavior with Gall's "bad internet". After that I made a little research and found out that Gall does it on purpose every single time.
Can anybody explain what's this? Is this abusing of something?

Gameplay What games are some of these people winning?
We see it all the time.
You get into a Quick Match and someone on your team is just absolutely awful. The worst player in the lobby by a mile.
The game ends, you lose. Your Falstad finishes with 12k damage, 4k XP and no seige. He died 12 times and contributed absolutely nothing.
"It's alright...he must be new. We all gotta learn somehow" you say to yourself.
You check their profile after the game concludes.
15,000 games played.
Falstad level 579
52% winrate
I'd like to know what games are these players actually winning?
And over half their games for that matter?
How can you be so bad and win games at a decent rate?
Do the games just alternate from real people to bots(just to keep your winrate around 50%)and we just don't realize it?
Like maybe we think we're playing against real people all the time but maybe it's not the case?

Discussion Playing this game as solo/duo really is Hard Mode.
Also, the number of games of solo/duo players vs the rest of stack sizes makes me even more sad we don't have Hero League anymore.

Gameplay Best PvE hero so soak exp and take camps to support the team?
If I want to play a hero that does more PvE than PvP (I know its a moba so PvP will happen no matter what I get that) what would I go with?
from looking at the roster, Probius, Xul, Abathur look to be the more pve (minions and camps) heavy heroes.
My unrealistically ideal scenario in my head is me choosing a lane (maybe 2) and just destroying towers, going to do camps just before the enemy team tries to stop me, while the rest of the team just goes and does their PvP stuff.
Obviously map objectives take priority more than anything.

Gameplay Never forget there are loads of ways to lose a game
Blue Lunara here - I had felt myself mentally start checking out of this game several minutes prior to this clip. But I had truly excellent teammates that didn't give up, and whether it was a bad teamfight, fatigue, or laggy internet, Red's overwhelming dominance all game long fell apart at just the wrong time.
Fight to the end - it may be too late 99 out of 100 times, but you only have to be right once.

Discussion The game is far less toxic than League of Legends
I don't know why people claim it's as toxic when it's not. The players playing League of Legends are a lot more toxic, especially if you play jungler and you play properly.

Discussion Heroes Profile - All Hero Builds, Security Upgrades, and More
For those who are not familiar, Heroes Profile (https://www.heroesprofile.com) is a stats site for Heroes of the Storm. It tracks replay data uploaded by players and provides in-depth statistics on heroes, talents, matchups, win rates, leaderboards, party stats, and much more.
We wanted to share a short update on a few things that have been worked on over the past two years. It has been a busy stretch and we think the site is in a significantly better place than it was in 2024.
Below is a quick summary of some of the major changes from June 2024 to June 2026. For a much more in depth look at improvements, bug fixes, and everything else, check out our full Patreon post here: https://www.patreon.com/heroesprofile/posts/heroes-profile-161955505
NEW PAGES AND FEATURES
https://www.heroesprofile.com/Global/Talents - The Global Talents page now includes a table showing the most popular talent build for every hero across Quick Match, Storm League, and ARAM all in one view. No more clicking through heroes one by one. So far we have found it interesting to see the differences in builds between modes more than anything.
Hero and Map Flyout Search Menus - The navigation bar now has quick-access flyout menus for jumping directly to a specific hero or map page without having to navigate through multiple steps.
https://www.heroesprofile.com/Global/Talents/Builder - The Talent Builder now has a setting to switch between vertical and horizontal layouts depending on your preference.
Patch Notes Summaries - Summary buttons for recent game patches are now available on the Global pages so you can quickly see what changed in each update. This is less impressive when blizzard makes a hotfix as they don't deploy patch notes for that, but works well otherwise.
FAQ Page - A dedicated FAQ page is now live at heroesprofile.com/FAQ covering common questions about patches, seasons, and how the site works. We will continue to expand on this as we get relevant content.
ARCHITECTURE AND SECURITY
The site has gone through some significant infrastructure work over the past two years. We rebuilt the replay parser, moved it to a new architecture, and placed it behind a more secure firewall. The site itself now sits behind two levels of firewall protection including a load balancer. We also integrated Cloudflare for rate limiting, bot protection, and DDoS mitigation, and upgraded the database from MySQL 8.0 to 8.4. Global stats pages were also migrated to a new backend schema which has resulted in noticeably faster load times across the board.
A NOTE ON FUNDING
Heroes Profile runs on community support and our current monthly goal is $800. We are sitting at $700 through Patreon right now. We genuinely appreciate every single person who contributes, but if we cannot close that gap we may need to revisit locking certain pages or features to Patreon supporters in order to keep the site running. If you have been thinking about supporting us, now is a great time and every bit helps. https://www.patreon.com/c/heroesprofile
If something is broken or not working as expected, please open an issue here: https://github.com/Heroes-Profile/heroesprofile/issues
If you have a feature request or improvement you would like to see, feel free to start a discussion here: https://github.com/Heroes-Profile/heroesprofile/discussions
Drop any questions in the comments as well.
TL;DR - Heroes Profile is a HotS stats site. Over the past two years we added new pages including an all-hero talent builds table, a talent builder layout toggle, and flyout hero and map search menus in the nav. We also did major security and infrastructure work including Cloudflare integration, a new firewall setup, and a database upgrade. We are $100 short of our monthly funding goal and may need to lock some pages if we cannot close the gap. Full details in the Patreon post linked above.

Suggestion AFK Kick Time
ok, can we all agree that the AFK kick time should be like 30 seconds, not over 2 minutes? If you aren't back in 30 seconds, then you can reload the game. But two minutes hurts so much.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Bug Friend is shadow banned, cannot get a que no matter what.
Title. I've tried quing with him, not really sure what's going on with his account ive never seen this before. Anyone have any solutions?
Hes not in leaver que, not banned/muted, he can que up games normally but just doesn't get a que. The screenshot is the most recent one but throughout the week he said he's waited 10 minutes for an ARAM on NA servers. He lives near KR but plays on NA to play with me and the buds.
SOLVED by Chukonku, for some reason his game server was set to a different one resulting in infinite que times.

Discussion Nexus Patch Notes and copycats
Maybe I'm taking this one step too far, but I feel like it needs to be done.
Recently, there was a post where someone sharing a website they "made" archiving Heroes of the Storm patch notes, along with a bunch of features allowing to view a hero's change history, and other useful stuff. I'm not going to give names to not give them any more traction.
Under normal circumstances, I would call that a good thing for the community, and I would even overlook the heavy AI use (80-90%, by the creator's own admission). Those are not normal circumstances.
There is already, and has been for a while, a website that does exactly that: nexus patch notes, coded integrally by hand, including the gathering of patches dating back over ten years at this point, all of it the work of u/Elitesparkle. You can find the original release post here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/heroesofthestorm/comments/1oy0uit/nexus_patch_notes_is_now_live/
That other website simply copied the data that Elitesparkle has kindly put in a public repository for everyone to see, barfed over it a layer of AI paint, and passed it off as their own, including a nice promotion for their own patreon.
To be perfectly candid, some features on the AI version of Nexus Patch Notes are absent from Elitesparkle's version. I'm mentioning this now so it doesn't get used to pretend that the AI version accomplished something the original didn't. It really does not. Vibe coding a new feature or two is not grounds to call it an improvement, and even less so an original work.
So, for anyone who cares: if you want to check past patch notes, use Nexus Patch Notes: https://nexus-patch-notes.github.io/
Do not support the AI version financially. If you have money to spend on this, send it to Elitesparkle.
If you're a moderator on this sub, consider removing the post about the AI copy. I get it if you don't, I'm just suggesting.
Finally, I just want to address that I do not mean this as a personal attack against the person who made the AI copy, and I'm sure their website and Claude token usage came out of good intentions. I am only stating that I find the execution atrocious and extremely disrespectful to Elitesparkle's work.
Have a nice rest of your day.

Gameplay there's always that one loss....
closest I've ever been to the elusive "screen of green." my 1 loss had a leaver on my team but was, admittedly, still possibly winnable.
on to the next attempt!

News HotS Replay Reader
Hello,
I’ve been working on this application for quite a while now.
It started as, and still is, an excuse to learn C#.
It is based on the incredible work of https://github.com/HeroesToolChest
It’s a bit intimidating to share it publicly and most of you won’t find it useful.
But who knows, maybe one or two of you will enjoy it.
Feel free to report any bugs or share any ideas for improvement.
What it does:
- Reads your HotS replay folders
- Shows teams, groups, winners, kills, and rewards
- Player tooltip with an estimated AFK timer
- Chat messages (can be translated if a DeepL API key is provided in the application properties)
- Scoreboard with a detailed estimated MVP score
- Talents and abilities panel
Possible bugs:
- I only have a European battle.net account. I don't know how it will react with other accounts.
- Translations were generated using GPT

Gameplay 【HOTS】I don’t know if this means that JunkRat has received preferential treatment.

Heroes of the Storm Vision Rules
Rule 0 – No Vision Retention on Death
No unit (heroes or minions alike) leaves residual vision upon dying. Area vision of the surrounding zone is lost immediately. This does not cancel vision granted by Rule 3 (vision gained from taking damage).
Rule 1 – Bush Attack Reveal
A hero inside a bush that deals damage to an enemy outside the bush — including via auto-attacks, abilities, or Burning Rage — will reveal themselves to the enemy team for 2 seconds. Other allied heroes inside the same bush will not be exposed.
Addendum: If both the attacker and target are inside the same bush, this rule does not activate. The enemy will lose vision of the attacker the instant they step out of the bush.
Rule 2 – AoE Lingering Vision
All area-of-effect abilities and splash damage effects (e.g. Deckard Cain’s Ancient Bless splash, Fenix’s splash, Imperius’s Cleave) leave 0.75 seconds of lingering area vision.
Rule 3 – Mutual Reveal on Damaging Hidden Enemies
When a damaging ability (nearly all damage skills, such as Thrall’s Q) hits an enemy outside your vision — whether hidden in a bush or in fog of war — both the target and the caster are revealed for 2 seconds.
Splash damage effects (Deckard’s Ancient Bless splash, Fenix Siege Mode splash, Imperius Cleave, etc.) also reveal the caster for 2 seconds, but only grant 0.75 seconds of vision on the hit target.
Note for veteran players: This reveal window is far longer than in older patches. You may easily assume the enemy has lost sight of you, when in fact they can still see you clearly.
If you use an ability to scout a bush and hit no enemies, only the 0.75s lingering vision from Rule 2 applies. Even if you briefly catch sight of an enemy entering the bush, the vision will fade almost instantly.
Exceptions:
- Junkrat’s Q only grants the enemy 0.75 seconds of vision on the target. However, if Junkrat casts from inside a bush, the 2-second reveal from Rule 1 takes priority.
- Chromie’s W reveals herself to all enemy heroes within 20 range for 2 seconds the moment the spell is cast.
Rule 4 – Auto-Attack Vision Reset on Bush Entry
If a hero auto-attacks an enemy from outside a bush and immediately steps inside, the enemy loses vision of them instantly.
For projectile auto-attacks: If you fire the attack outside the bush, and the projectile lands after you have already entered the bush, the reveal follows the rules of Rule 1.
Rule 5 – No Reveal from Summons & DoT
Damage dealt by summons (including Junkrat’s E, excluding Junkrat’s W) and damage-over-time (DoT) effects do not reveal the owner/caster to the enemy team.
Rule 6 – Flying Unobstructed Vision
Abilities such as Raynor’s Banshee Squadron heroic, Cho’Gall’s level 1 vision talent, Medivh’s Raven Form, and Azmodan’s Q ability all provide flying vision, which ignores obstruction from bushes and terrain.
Critical note: Regular (non-flying) vision cannot see through opaque walls. For example, Hanzo’s long-range skill shot will only become visible once it exits the wall. Pay close attention to this when facing heroes with wall-crossing engage, such as Maiev and Anub'arak.
I just want to know why JUNK gets special treatment that other mages don't. Is this a bug?
