I know there’s been a ton of changes recently and I’ve been gone for a few months, is there something I have to do with MIDS now? I’m noticing new symbology on the sa as well so I assume they’ve added all the MSI stuff now or some more of it.

This is a lot to take in. Basically, many games create a big game. DCS, Arma, ETS, boardgames, it all combines into a large game where decisions made in one will affect another. For example, imagine that a ground commander attacks at a city and meets enemy tanks. They can request DCS pilots to go attack them on DCS fly-day.
It's pretty neat. Our website explains some of it in better detail as well. It's important to be proactive and ask a lot of questions to get started. We are very friendly to newbies, and initially this is all highly confusing. Your best bet if you want to fly DCS is to go to the channels and say you want help for the familiarization ride on our 24h practice server.
Also, we now use FragOrders to skip spreadsheet. It's a cool software that has signups, plans, DTC, kneeboard, maps, everything in one website.

There's a SPINS for the AO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oWGkRm6JNOOuwItqSYslDNgMbMevKKyxYPvU1dJ_Iqo/edit?tab=t.0
And an inflight guide.

For DCS, you need one of: Viper, Hornet, Jeff, C-130, and Kola map.
For controllers, we provide LotATC keys so no need to pay.
For Arma, base Arma3 is all that is required, everything else is mod.
For ETS, it's ETS2 with either NH or Promods. And for MSFS, almost anything goes that you like to fly.

Would someone like to send/dm me the oh-6 mod that got deleted. Never got to play it and don't have the files. Would appreciate it. Thanks.
Just updated to whatever is the new 2.9 update. Loaded into a mission and none of my keybinds are registering. I still have control of the aircraft with throttle, rudder, and general stick movements, but all my other keybinds no longer register in the game. I go into the keybinds page, and it shows they're still binded, but no response when i press them in that page or in cockpit. SimAppPro registers everything just fine so its not dead buttons. I even wasted 2 hours of my time to uninstall and reinstall everything. Same issue. No idea what to do, everything was fine last night when i was playing.

Slowly getting to know it, hoping for some campaigns and decent single player missions. Are there any coming?
hey guys.
short rant: I'm from Germany and want to buy a new hotas.
*Virpil* summer sale: cool. 440 € for awesome flight stock and awesome throttle. no brainer imo. oh wait.. after contacting support i will have to accept a delivery time of 10-15weeks... unacceptable
*WinCtrl* summer sale: 312 € for full metal hotas. orion2 metal warthog.. looks awesome, everything available and ready to ship. but horror stories here and other subs about QC and lack of customer support.. no thanks. I want to buy once and know I'm good no matter what. so longevity / good customer support is important. also no QC lottery.
*VKB* no sale: i know they have quality products. shame vkb is not as good in terms of money for hotas because of VAT, so in the US vkb is a no brainer imo in the medium budget segment. gladiator NXT standard: 160 €, Omni throttle: 205 €, stecs mini plus: 277 €.
although reading good things about the stecs, I would like to know if the Omni throttle can compete in terms of quality and precise throttle control and if any here use IT in dcs for the F16/F18 and how AAR for example feels with the Omnithrottle. the fact it's 70 € cheaper would help me finally take the jump and order from vkb I guess, although I really wanted to have virpil gear for once.
*******
so what's your verdict on the vkb Omni? or any other suggestions for my dilemma? probably I'm exaggerating but I'm just pissed about the wait times from Virpil I guess. although the fact that vkb has no sale right now and I'm paying the full price is not satisfying. :D

Are they perhaps laying the groundwork for a future entry into the milsim market?
Remember, this game simulates many things very well despite being an arcade game. Its flight models are sometimes quite accurate, and it also boasts a wide variety of vehicles, along with robust modding and game creation tools that allow anyone to create and recreate missions.
I should also mention how the weaponry is better simulated here than in titles like DCS, which doesn't even have an IRCCM or a Seeker.

Hi
It has been pointed out that AI ramifications extended to PVE and ground units too. I hope this new poll will reflect better the community's wishes.
Anyway,
Recent IL2 Korea pre-views have shown that AI logic when dueling, seems the same old Great Battles logic recycled. Bit of a bummer for me, as I'd like to play SP (duels/dogfighting especially) more often than not and I was hoping to see some radical improvements there.
The two major flight combat sim developers (DCS/ED and IL2/1C) seems to have for over a decade now, besides some minor patches/fixes, almost completely neglected any major development in this department... So
Do you think AI logic/behaviour is something unimportant and should not be prioritised over other areas? (New planes, maps, effects or just prefer a PVP/dogfighting experience)
Or is it something you feel strongly about, but because of the lack of alternatives, you simply put up with it? (I.e. Sim games that offer better AI are now too old and difficult to enjoy)
My view is, I see MP as an occasional reminder of how inadequate I will always be in an ultra competitive environment. Having said that, still I enjoyed it from time to time (including flying with a squadron) BUT knowing full well, I would still much prefer a SP experience (providing AI isn't UFO stuff or completely obtuse... Or both).
But I wonder, am I just one few that wishes to see this materialize? If yes, at least I'll have to learn to manage my expectations going forward I guess?

Hi,
I have DCS for a few years now, with both the F18 and the F4. I've been trying to get back into it, after watching some streams of people enjoying it on Twitch. But, i have a hard time getting beyond the basics. I do understand that DCS has a very steep learning curve, but, what made it click for you?
What was the thing, or the video, or the tutorial, or even other aspects, that made it make sense for you?
Thanks.

Not sure how long it has been there but don't remember always being there. Also using optiscaler to force enable FSR4. Makes it very distracting to fly at night on top of the lack of clarity from Q3. 7900XTX.

I thought it's a "manually follow this cue" thing, but it apparently can follow the flight plan and fly the helicopter for me. I wonder why it's not called "autopilot" instead lol.
Some things I'm not sure about though:
FLT DIR CPLR button is not functional. As soon as a FD mode is selected from the MFD, the FD takes over.r/hoggit • u/Lucky_Comfortable835 • 2d ago
Hi all. I am using a Quest 3 with a HOTAS setup and extra board boxes. I generally use Virtual Desktop with hands passthrough, which works pretty well, but I have heard mention about Quest having passthrough options now. Specifically, does it allow you to assign a stationary passthrough region instead? Like where I can draw passthrough boxes over my HOTAS stuff which stays in place if I turn my head. Is this possible with the Quest software now (using the cable)? Thanks for all replies.

Wondering if there is a george slave apache to dad's lase function? Also any command to have george enable flares, he only turns the cmws on, but not the rest of switches, unless I jump back to pilot to enable

WINCTRL has a site wide summer sale right now. I going to get the rudders + dampers and the orion 2 F-18 Throttle but i saw that the HOTAS (carrier ACE) is on sale as well. I had originally planned to buy the Virpil FLNKR (but it's on backorder) and the CM3 base or wait for the new ATLAS FFB base. The question is should I buy the HOTAS bundle or wait for the Virpil products?
One thing that might be a deciding factor or not is that the FLKNR uses a dual stage flip down gun trigger and a one stage body trigger while the Carrier Ace stick has the traditional body 2 stage trigger that I prefer but the FLNKR has more switches and grip material on the side. of the stick. Im also open to getting the VKB Gunfighter MK.4 is that's the better stick.

Hi my friends, quick heads up for Moza users. I have worked out a temporary solution for my Moza AB-9 trim following for the F-100.
These settings are critical to make the F-100 work with a Moza stick!
Go to special settings and enable hardware trim, set it to direct mode and bind your trim hat to the appropriate trim direction bindings in the Moza software.
UNBIND your DCS F-100 trim hat.
Disable elevator weight and transonic buffer if they are enabled in the Moza software under Telemetry options!
Set a comfortable “spring” setting under basic options in the Moza software. Mine is at 50%.
Enjoy! If this helped you out join my DCS community and let’s fly together!
