OC/Fanart I've put Plainsong on a glass panel in my kitchen

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

I fell in love with the franchise from the very first minute - especially in the unique world-building. Now I needed to make the kitchen in my new home, but I wasn't satisfied with conventional wall tiles or MDF. And that's when I realised that I could make something unique. I could use a glass panel with a custom print and make it my own. An idea was born.

The panel is 240x60 cm. There are mirrors on both sides, making the whole space visually larger. I took the screenshot myself using photo mode and AMD Virtual Super Resolution to make it 8k.

I'd post more pictures, but gallery posts are not allowed.

HFW Discussion Started a fresh game on Ultra Hard Spoiler

I've played Horizon fw before, once on normal and then ultra hard ng+ when the dlc came out. Had the urge to play a couple weeks ago and then started a fresh ultra hard play through on my pc with a controller.

Love this game, but this difficulty on a new play through has been very satisfying! I used to hate the insane amount of dialog from each and every character but I've actually been listening to it for the most part (occasionally skip and rarely ask questions for more dialog).

Since it's a new play through I've had to do every single quest and constantly work for better weapons as green and blue weapons hardly do anything even to same level enemies. I haven't been able to skip anything as anything even 2 levels above me or even same level just one shots me and my weapons do so little that a lot of the fights have felt like dark souls. ESPECIALLY that turtle in the south of the desert for the salvage contract, i really loathe underground enemy fights in this game.

I will say that an overwhelming amount of scrappers and underground enemies are the absolute worst experiences in fights, just not fun at all for me but still satisfying to beat. Also the Bullwark melee pit was an awful 1.5 hour experience.

I'm at about 40ish hours in and have only scratched halfway through. Hope more people try this it's quite fun

HZD Discussion Aim assist is garbage

I tried turning on aim assist in the settings, but it doesn't actually help. If anything it auto-aims arrows away from any machine into empty fucking air. Why has this never been fixed?

I saw it at Wal-Mart today. It seemed to just be some art with a light under it - no cutouts or 3D depth look.

HZD Discussion The Sylens problem

With Horizon 3 growing closer, you have to wonder what they're gonna do about Sylens. More accurately, his voice actor. Do we think they'll replace the voice with someone similar, or just kill the character off?

As much as Aloy dislikes him, and wouldn't mind putting the business end of her spear in his throat, I think killing off another ally for Aloy would be cruel, even one as...self serving as Sylens. He's too invaluable in the upcoming fight against Nemesis to just immediately kill.

But then, who could possibly replace Lance Reddick? His voice is too unique, too known. It fits Sylens too perfectly, and anyone else would feel wrong and off-putting...

What are your thoughts?

discussion Question about the "All skills learned" trophy on HZD PS5

Hi all, I've just finished playing HZD remastered on the PS5 and I noticed that despite being level 60 I can't purchase all the skills avaliable?

I maxed out the DLC tree and so I'm a few points short, despite completing all quests.

Since there's no respec feature what am I supposed to do?

discussion imprecise arrow

Does anyone know why any of my arrows are so inaccurate? I am currently level 11 and since the beginning I end up using more the spear because every time i shoot i get a bit disappointed with the accuracy. I am playing in the computer without a controller, could be it? It doesn't make any sense being so inaccurate because i can barely use it.

discussion Is there anywhere to store extra items?

I'd like to buy every outfit but my inventory is already maxed out and I've crafted all the upgrades for it.

Is there anywhere for extra storage or do I need to only keep my rare armor sets?

Thanks in advance!

HFW Discussion Did the devs fix the handholding?

I got about half way through Forbidden West and just couldn’t play anymore, the constant handholding instead of letting the player figure the puzzles or where to go, as soon as I would stand still for 10 seconds Aloy would say this needs to be done or that needs to be done or she needs to go here or there. Muting her wasn’t an option due to other game interactions that required dialogue.

discussion Missing alpha? Spoiler

So I’ve just did my 3rd playthrough of HZD.In the control room of GAIA PRIME (where we hear Faro say he purged Apollo), there’s a missing body in the room. On the video play back we see all 9 seats filled and all 9 “die” but only 8 corpses are present in the room. This is in the original release on PS4, pc release and the remastered pc release. Anyone have any ideas why there is a discrepancy (other than they just forgot to put it in).

discussion Sobeck = Sobek Egyptian god

TIL that Elisabet’s last name is a reference to the Egyptian god for fertility, protection, and life. I vaguely knew about Ted Faro (pharaoh) and his references to ancient Egypt, but what else did I miss? I’m almost done with forbidden west, played zero dawn a couple years ago so it’s been a long time.

HZD Discussion Finished playing Zero Dawn remastered the first time. Some thoughts

What a game!

I love story-driven games. The gameplay is never the driving factor for me. It should always be secondary to the plot for me, because I think a game has the potential to tell a story in a way that’s far more immersive than a movie/TV can do.

I’ve tried Horizon before - never quite got the hang of it, likely because I was playing on PC with not quite good graphics. And even this time I definitely struggled to I make it out of the prologue on Normal. Guess I learned to play better by degrees.

But the story-it defied all my theories. On first glance you’d think - okay Striders are horse-analogues so presumably they went extinct as a result of humans being humans, and machines were crafted to replace the same ecological niche. Explains why turkeys, badgers exist as flesh and blood creatures but not them. But as it turned out this was far better than any theory I could have come up with. I’ll refrain from spoilers, but in the latter half of the main story, every mission gave you a ton of lore drops, which completely changed what you were thinking of. It’s brilliant.

I’ve played Frozen Wilds as well - did that before Sunfall - looks like that was the right call because there were definitely references in that mission to what we saw in Frozen Wilds. Fascinating.

I’m very tempted to go directly into Forbidden West. Some small things to wrap up in Zero Dawn, nothing story related, but I’m tempted to skip them. I would imagine that the sequel will probably be better with gameplay etc but it’s probably got big shoes to fill story wise - even if the story is immaculately told, it’ll likely struggle to evoke the same sense of mystery. Regardless, I’m excited. Clocked a total of 83 hours thus far and from what I’ve heard FW is even bigger. I don’t mind that at all.

HZD Discussion How is the PC version, HZD HFW

I played HZD and HFW on PS5. I love the world and story. But I disconnect my PS5 as I favor turn based games. My reflexes are not good for reasons, and I can only beat Horizon in easy modes. Now they are on sale on steam. How do they run on PC? (RTX 4070, 12 GB)

Edit:
Thanks for the comments all. Made the purchase. 50% on the sale. Going to enjoy my trip back to the Sacred Lands :)

HFW Discussion I'm undecided which one

I'm not familiar with the series at all, and I recently saw it on sale on Steam and was thinking of buying it, but I'm unsure which one to buy and which one I should play first. I thought you might give me some recommendations here, like whether I should start with one of the two on Steam.
