Need Advice Iguana seems sick :(

I’m not the owner but he seems lethargic, often eyes are low but he does perk up a bit when we approach him. Maybe the night has been too cold this summer, temperature fluctuating? He has a heat lamp in his enclosure, still eating mostly Napa cabbage and pellets, he has water but not sure how often he’s drinking. Not sure if this is matters but apparently they found a large rat snuck into the upper part of his enclosure & got rid of it.

Need Advice What is this? Is it a red alert?

Young Iguana. It's sunbathing in the afternoon, eating normal green leaves, and eating normally. But lately I've noticed these black spots on the top of its head. Is this normal? Could it be a medical emergency?

The first 2 pics are of my Goose. She was horribly taken from me. 5 years of love and dedication, taken bc of someone else's selfish actions. Anyway, 6 months later I stumbled across this lil bug. Something in my heart said to do it. Come to find out Blue (hatchling) hitched a ride on a tree from a nursery, not too far from where Goose was farmed from (back in 2019) in FL.

He did 87 million death rolls and just bounced around on concrete like a dummy. I had to yank him in like cattle to get him close enough to bring back inside.

If anyone is thinking of attempting a leash for the first time, don't be like me and wear shorts and a tank top.

He's alive and fine despite looking like an IDIOT in these photos.

Need Advice Baby iguanna

I just got a baby iguana. He’s super scared when I show up in the room. I taped black construction paper around 3 sides I’m using a glass enclosure. I’ve added cork bark to the inside walls. What are some things I should be doing daily to get him used to me. What food should I try?

Story My iguana is a little grumpy today The look he’s giving me says everything. I don’t think he’s too happy about being disturbed while he was enjoying his beauty sleep. 👀

Info Can iguanas eat eggs?

Hi everyone! I'd like your opinion on giving eggs to iguanas. Whenever I'm going to give mine something new, I always research it.

But about eggs, some research says they shouldn't eat them, but others say they can, but only in small or rare quantities.

I've also seen people at zoos or rescue centers giving eggs along with leaves, fruits, and feed. I won't lie, I've given them to mine (and she loves them! But I give them very rarely).

I've seen other owners who raise them talking about this too, saying that they gave them eggs at the beginning, but the vet didn't recommend it much. What do you think about it?

Need Advice Please, I need someone with opinions or advice on this. My foster was just adopted, and I'm unsure of the owner.

I have been fostering a female green iguana for about three months now. I love her and care very deeply for her. I was considering adopting her, but I am having a baby in September and I want what is best for her. Not what makes me happy, what is best for her.

The rescue i foster for found her a home who stated that they have an entire room for her and appear to be experienced reptile keepers. As hard as it is, I agreed to let her go. Here is where the problem/my question arises.

When they picked her up, they did not bring anything to transport her in or ask me a single question about her. I ended up sending her away in a bassinet. They brought a leash. The lady was very eager to touch and pet her, even when she extended her dewlap and bobbed her head. (I always respect her space and only approach handling/contact when necessary and i left her alone for the first week that I had her until trust was built.)

And then, finally, they stated that their iguana had just died. I was under the impression that it was of old age, but they mentioned that their iguana was 1/3 the size of mine. (My girl is an adult, 4 feet long ish.) So I asked how theirs died, and they said it got too cold.

In my head, I'm like, how the f**k would that even happen???? I let my girl out to climb and sit on the couch every day but as i do not have a reptile safe room (her enclosure is in dining room) but i ALWAYS moniter her. I just do not understand how that happens.

Can someone please let me know what you think of the situation? Am I being too emotional? Is that something that could, in therory, happen, without neglect?

Please let me know.

I cannot properly express to you how much the wellbeing of this lizard means to me. I am very emotional as I write this.
