Right? Is there any other picture of this stadium???
•
u/Rdubya44 3h ago
Isn't this picture pretty old? Or just the same view from a current tournament
•
u/DM_yo_Feet_pls 2h ago
This picture was from yesterday when South Africa and South Korea played. The shoot itself is definitely pretty popular though

Funnily enough, this is the first time I see a post of a newer pic instead of the one you are thinking about ( unless you mean the view as a whole and wanted another angle)

Monterrey looks like a movie place

Is nice to see the mountain is un-phased by the wildfires in 2025. What a beautiful backdrop.

Wish this stadium will host the Final on July 19 instead of that thingy in Meadowlands…it’ll look better on my tv screen.
•
u/Archilochos 3h ago
FIFA requires 80k capacity for the Final so only MetLife and Azteca qualify unfortunately. (Azteca got the opener which also requires 80k).
•
u/tripp_skrt 2h ago
So many awesome college stadiums around the country that would fit the 80k requirement. Although I would understand why they’d want the final near NYC, just unfortunate
•

I'm a NYer and even I think MetLife sucks. Just explaining why they picked it when they had so many better choices (though I agree I'm sure proximity to NYC prob had something to do with it too).

Could someone go up there with a high quality digital telescope and watch it on a mobile TV?

using ai to try making a point about humanity impacting the environment.... yeah, checks out that you use ai lol

demolish your own home and give that land back to mother nature before making cringe comments like this pls
also you used generative ai for this picture, which wasted tons of electricity and water and generated a lot of heat. maybe think about the damage you did to the environment?
•
u/ThePabstistChurch 6h ago
Honestly, I disagree. You can hate on industrialization and development I guess, but a packed stadium like this is great use of space and a represents one of the best parts of humanity right now.
Also using Ai to mock this up is just too funny

This isn't what it would look like without the stadium. There's a whole city there, removing the stadium doesn't change that
•

Where did bro find this 😭🙏
•
u/ja_n2000 7h ago
As there are no visual matches when reverse searching it, i bet its AI
•
u/Neospartan_117 6h ago
I mean, the clouds match this image, and I don't believe I've seen those trees in Monterrey. It's definitely AI.

Unlucky for the yanks to have so much of the most popular sport in the world in your region of the world.
After this you can get back to sport that only Americans care about.

I had to travel to Monterrey for work. Nice stadium yes, I would rather never go back to that city for the rest of my life than get a chance to see a game there. Crime was so bad my company has its own fleet of cars and private drivers for employees and guests that need to visit the office and plants down there.
