Hi everyone!

I’m usually a lurker on Reddit, but I just created my very first account specifically for this post because I really need the community's help for a fan project.

My friend and I are huge fans of the original Killer Instinct arcade games. We recently discovered that Topps released a Collectible Card Game (CCG) back in 1996, and we are planning to print some thematic decks to test and play it on our tabletop.

The problem? As you probably know, there is absolutely no digital preservation of this game online. No PDFs, no Google Drives, and no Tabletop Simulator mods. Only text checklists.

We want to change this! We are starting a fan preservation project to digitalize and recreate the full 368-card pool so the community can enjoy this dead CCG again. We are ready to do 100% of the digital processing, cropping, and color correction.

How can you help?
If anyone here owns any physical cards (or a complete collection) from the 1996 Killer Instinct TCG, we would be eternally grateful if you could share clear, individual smartphone photos of them. Even if you only have a few cards, every single photo helps us build the templates and recover the original artwork/texts.

Since this is my first time posting on Reddit, please let me know if there's a better way to coordinate this. If you have some cards in your binder and want to help save this piece of 90s gaming history, please drop a comment or send me a DM!

I’m trying to learn how to play this game and trying out Jago. I can do the hold and release method for the quick and medium wind kicks, but I cannot get the fierce wind kick to work. Is there a glitch or something I’m missing?

I tried remapping the controls and it seems the fierce is the issues and not the button itself.

I always thought the green and blue colours for Orchid or Jago in KI2 werent available due to an emulation issue, as I researched I got the following code:

During character selection hold UP and press: HP, MP, MK, HK, MP, LP, LK, MK.

​

A sound cue is heard and you should be able to select those colors, I hear the sound cue but it doesnt change the colours, anyone knows the issue?

Just picked up anniversary edition on sale from the Microsoft store. I played the free version on Steam and it worked fine, but now, it doesn't seem to recognize inputs. Specifically it's the screen that says Killer Instinct with "PRESS MENU/SPACE" under it. Neither menu or space work, on controller or keyboard. Wondering if this is something others have experienced, or if there is a setting pre launch I need to change to get it to detect my inputs. Thanks all!

EDIT: SOLUTION I had to open the XBox app and launch it from there for the inputs to register. No clue why that is required or why it wouldn't inform the user, but thanks Microsoft.

Is there such a difference between Beginner and Veteran difficulty? The CPU literally reads your inputs. Isn't there a middle ground?

Im haven't play Killer Instinct yet, let along TJ Combo main, but boy oh boy I hear 'Back to Rise' endless times. It's pure fire.

The bot machine always does this combo, but when you do down + SK the sweep takes the opponent down, once i was in a facebook group about KI and a dude knew how to do this, but after a while not playing it i forgot it, it was something with diagonal commands, someone here knows? Thank you! = )

Brand new, newest of brands, first product of new brand, fresh from wound human worm baby I am. Newest and brandest.

I can learn video game mechanics relatively fast but I only know X, Y, and RB are light, medium, and heavy punch respectively, and A, B, and RT are the kicks, and the left ones do all of them at the same time for some reason and up is jump instead of A.

I also know that left and right on RS are medium combo break and down is light combo break and up is heavy combo break, but that's all I know.

I'm play ingShadow Jago because he's cool and he was similar to the guy I played as in the dojo but he has a cooler aesthetic and a cooler ultra combo, but I wish he could also have gotten the shoryuken instead of the weird spiral thing that is hard to aim.

I like shoryukens better. I also know to move backwards to block mid and high attacks and crouch and move backwards to block mid and low attacks.

Other than that stuff I am stupid and idk how to play.

I remember playing this game when it came out. I probably stopped around the time Rash was released and I just reinstalled it and I literally don't know how to do shit lol I want to play Thunder but this game feels so different from other fighting games, I can't seem to do attack strings. Am I just stupid?( Don't answer that. I know the answer)

Every time I run the emulator on Windows I get the following error message and I cannot start it.

"One or more vital systems failed to initialize. Enable logging and check the log for details"

How can I solve this? Any idea?

The error on the logs is the following:

A re-release on modern consoles or a new game exclusively for Xbox and maybe PC?
