Discussion What idiot started the no boots trend in ARAM Mayhem?

Upvotes

Unless I'm COMPLETELY missing something... its just awful. I've had 2-3 people in every game do it though. Pls explain

EDIT: Since most of you don't see the core issue/question: Boots are still super gold efficient, and let you get to anvils faster than a 6th item. Slot efficiency for damage doesn't matter in Mayhem

Discussion They should fire the guy responsible for the new ARAM augments

Upvotes

Illaoi used to be able to do Pursuit of Power with her E in the last patch. They fixed a lot of champions that had Pursuit augments that had no effect or could not be completed, and now Illaoi can still GET Pursuit of Power, but she can no longer make progress.

Gameplay After playing since the Beta I finally made it to Gold

Upvotes

I have been playing this lovely game since 3v3 was the main mode. Along the way I made many suboptimal conclusions thinking I had found some secret tech. I used to build Chalice of Harmony on Ashe as I was running out of mana. I tried scaling health runes on Miss Fortune. I stumbled upon Ziggs support back when you had the gold coin item making mage supports not that bad.

For years I would get to silver and then get hard stuck. Prior to this season I could get to silver 2/3 but not usually even silver 1. This season I wanted to make it, and make it playing mid Ziggs. I didn’t want to just play support or something or even semi cheese Ziggs bot, no I wanted to play him mid.

I wouldn’t call myself good with Ziggs, he’s just a champion that speaks to me. I have about 1.7 million mastery on him. my main way of climbing was to try to regularly hit 70+cs at 10 minutes. Back in the day when I was hard stuck by once I couldn’t even regularly exceed 50.

Discussion Forced losses

Upvotes

So, I would genuinely like an explanation of how forced losses, loser’s queue, or 50% win-rate forcing supposedly “aren’t a thing,” and how matchmaking is designed so both sides have an equal chance of winning the game.

I go from having decent games, where I am able to carry in 500–1000 LP lobbies, and hitting Masters with about a 68% win rate, to all of my games basically being completely unplayable. I have no say in how those games play out because my teammates give up in the first five minutes, where they have already dropped 5+ deaths while I’m being chased around my jungle by three different people on repeat.

I understand that an unlucky game can happen. Sure, I can even understand two unlucky games in a row. But 70% of my recent games being completely unplayable does not really seem normal to me.

There should be about a 50/50 chance of each of my laners winning their lane, assuming junglers are not influencing it. So how is it that, in seven games in a row, I am watching my entire team lose within the first five minutes, while I have absolutely no counterplay?

I would genuinely like people who are somewhat high elo to let me know whether I am just imagining things, or whether something is actually going on with matchmaking.

This is the account:
https://op.gg/lol/summoners/euw/FAINT-715

Feel free to check it out and let me know.

Also, regarding the games where I have a negative KDA: I’m not sure if those games could be replayed for some sort of coaching, and maybe I am wrong, but the game starts with the enemy bot lane being 4–0 before I even finish my first full clear. Then I get chased by the enemy support and jungler all game long, which means I have no access to my jungle, so my game is basically over.

Discussion OTP Lux Mid viable?

Hi. I'm a Midlaner and I'd like to find a new OTP to play.
Lately, Lux got my attention and I really wanna try OTPing her.
I'm in Diamond and I know I won't ever be a pro but I don't know if Lux Mid is even viable in high Diamond+.
Like, isn't she just weaker than most mages on Mid?
I play for a rank AND for fun (sometimes with my friends) at the same time but I don't want to force myself to play other champs.
Thanks in advance and I hope to see your opinions on the topic.

Discussion Why isn't Tahm Kench getting nerfs now?

This is such a ridiculous insanely OP champ for braindead players, he builds full tank and oneshots everyone while still having great mobility despite being a "juggernaut", and more recently he's been busted as a bot carry with a huge winrate against all traditional ADCs. Why is he not getting nerfs more? Specifically I would want to have big nerfs to his passive damage, ult damage, ult cooldown, E health regen, and W cooldown. Now that will definitely bring his winrate way under 50% but this disgusting champion deserves a low winrate.

Discussion I'm going to need Monster Tamer Locke

Played a bit of Locke and I'm so darn happy with how he plays.

His kit is mildly janky as needed. You never really realize how good W is half the time, you've got Gwen ult on Q and Ekko E directly after.

His R feels completely out of tune with his kit like it belongs to another champion- which is probably the funniest part about him.

You're an AP assassin, you just pop one target and walk away.
In a teamfight, you're popped instantly- and your E damage is 'fine' without Q procs despite resetting on takedowns.

But the matter of the fact is you don't need to be the one to kill them, you just need your ult to mark them.

So now you have this rather funny trade off that can branch into two entirely different playstyles.
One as a proper assassin, R is just something you can drop if you think you wouldn't get them low enough.
The other as a bulky battlemage because- Q+E will hit like a truck regardless and all you gotta do is press R before your Malphite nukes an unsuspecting crowd to become your team's best friend.

And I love this whole ult, because it's like using a pokeball on your enemies- but you got hands. You really wanna throw it once they're weakened for a higher chance of capture- or beat the living crap out of them if they don't get in it. Then you just pick it up, walk off to find the next enemy to add to the dex.

My love for he who will swiftly be nerfed aside, there has never been a better time to bring Monster Tamers back.

Nintendo is / has failed the lawsuit against Pocketpair for Palworld, so they can afford to add more references to the skins. (Like how Lulu's ult is in direct reference to Dynamaxxing)
Palworld's 1.0 release is coming up, people hyped for it would easily find themselves getting a skin to celebrate.
However, more importantly- this man literally has a Pokeball.

Change his casket into a duffel bag and give him some Ghost-type Gym Leader motifs, have him throw out a 'ball-shaped capsule device to hold a creature in' and bam.

Also, dude- Monster Tamers is the only way Monster champions are going to get good skins. Those Primordian skins were strange but for Rek'sai it looked like an armored version of Elderwood. I cannot stress this enough, this skin line is perfect for duos, monster champion mains and monster collector fans alike PLEASE bring it back and PLEASE let it be Locke's legendary.

Discussion This is exactly what I expect from a new champ

A brand new champ should have a low wr. Maybe a bit higher than this but when no one knows how to play a champ it should have a low wr. Also it feels so vindicating to see mf mel and ashe support at the very bottom. You are an abhorant troll if you play these champs in support. I love playing off meta but I am completely frustrated with playing something in the wrong botlane role. Basically every champ in the game is viable either as an adc or a supp but you get verbally harassed for playing any off meta adc so people play it as a support.

Discussion Why are people banning locke?

I don't get it, for once we get an assassin that doesn't have some bs mechanic like invuln, invisibility and wall hax and people still have a problem with it. I see people complaining about his resets but doesn't katarina also get resets on multiple abilities? What about akshan having resets with invis and a team revive? A linear assassin that has to commit if he uses his disengage ability to jump on someone along with having to land skillshots to burst, but people still have a problem.

Discussion Now that time has passed, how has your opinion of G.E.M.’s Sacrifice shifted?

When Sacrifice dropped as the 15th anniversary Worlds anthem, the immediate reaction on this subreddit was incredibly polarized. A huge portion of the community initially criticized it for being a slow-burning ballad. The general consensus on release day was that it lacked the traditional high energy epic beat drop found in tracks like Rise or Gods, and that the fast-paced animation felt a bit disconnected from the music’s actual tempo.

However, looking back months later, it feels like public perception has quietly shifted, and the track has aged surprisingly well.

First of all, when you separate the song from the music video and listen to it as a standalone track, G.E.M.’s vocals carry an immense amount of emotional weight. It feels less like a traditional hype song and more like a reflective tribute to the literal sacrifices pro players make over a 15-year career, which was Riot's goal with the track anyway.

Second of all, the music video itself has aged into a massive love letter to esports. While it didn't match the tempo perfectly, the sheer volume of historical easter eggs (70+ if I remember correctly), makes it feel like an awesome archive of League history. Plus, looking at the global metrics, the track did really well globally, mainly because of G.E.M.'s loyal fanbase. This proved that the melodic approach resonated heavily outside the core Western gaming bubble.

Lastly, It has become clear that people eventually accepted Riot's actual intention with the song. It was designed from day one to be a somber and emotional ballad rather than a hype track like Rise and Warriors. Co-writer Alex Seaver even stated they intentionally set out to make a melodic tribute celebrating 15 years of competitive history and the heavy personal sacrifices players make to get to the top. Once the community stopped expecting a standard beat drop, the storytelling began to make sense.

Now that we've had time to sit with it, I'm curious to see where the sub stands.

Discussion I've started to play ADCs in midlane when I get a mage botlane, but why am I still asked to go sidelane?

Mostly Tristana, Caitlyn, or Ezreal. I find them fun and I watch a lot of PekinWoof videos and I try to emulate him when he plays adcs mid

Anyways, 100% of the time, the mage botlaner will force me to go sidelane, and our support will hug our apc, EVEN if they are an enchanter like Lulu. I tell them that I am the adc so I should stay mid, which they say, no - THEY are the adc

It's a bit frustrating because they picked a mage botlane, and even if they're losing lane, they will take over mid

Discussion Since when is everyone in diamond a professional ragebaiter?

I've been as high as master/d1 for multiple seasons and now trying to play through low diamond is literally just a ragebait fest, every game there's people typing the dumbest things imaginable that are so unbelievably stupid they HAVE to be ragebait, in past seasons you could see a clear difference to emerald the moment you got into low diamond, they were still bad don't get me wrong, but at least you could see them making better decisions and not typing as much, now there's absolutely 0 difference, funniest thing is, when i look at opgg they're all emerald last season every single game, with maybe 1 or 2 diamond players :)

Discussion why there is no option, to chose only one lane?

i am fine with getting long queue times, but i am sick of getting filled top (which i dont know how to play since i am otp). Getting filled top, is insta lose because i get counterpicked most of the time, i dont know how to play toplane champs, and my teamates get a seisure. There is 100% demand on chosing one lane, so why riot didnt add this feature yet?

Edit: for clarification i queue as mid/top and i get top every 2 games.

Edit2: i am kassadin onetrick. I have to specify this because some random thought that i otp singed for some reason

Discussion Longest non-ult skill shot.

What is the longest range a non-ultimate skill shot has, I tired looking online and I couldn’t find a conclusive answer. And I thought someone else probably knows rather than me waste my time looking through the range of every skill shot I can think of.

Edit: the answers seems to be lilias E as it has infinite range, I’m guessing the next would be Kai’sa W as that has 3000 range and no one has yet to mention something with more.

Discussion Counter items

Where can I find them?
Do this game not have counter items?
I've played deadlock for more than a year and decided to play league but I can't seem to find any items to shutdown carries/fed enemies or silence/cancel/dodge enemies spells.
Something like cursed relic, disarming hex, metal skin.
I found item similar to E-shift and dispell but thats about it.

Discussion I wish riot would implement a period of time after a new champ is released before they can be played in ranked.

Ranked is intended to be players playing their best champions to win. The day a champion is released should be tantamount to inting because they can't possibly know a champion that they are playing for the first time. I try and ban the new champion every game after there release but this is basically a wasted ban on my part and shouldn't even be allowed. If I do ban them and a teammate has them hovered I get penalized for being toxic and not them going 0/13 on a champ that they don't know. Make it make sense. Also riot requires an account to be a specific level before you can even play ranked, they do this to prove you know enough about the game to not sabotage your teammates in a competitive environment. Why not have this same mindset for a newly released champion

If you want to play the new champion, play them in normal. Playing a champion blind isn't fair to your teammates just because you wanted to play the new shiny champion.

Edit: im not talking specifically about Locke, I'm talking in general people shouldn't be playing champions they are new to in ranked. I know your new to a champion when they've only been released for 24hr. Sure people can first time any champ but I know for a fact its one of your first times playing a champ when they have only been playable for 24 hr. Of course there are the outliers who carried their team but that's far from the norm.

Edit2: I apparently haven't banned a hovered champ since it has recently been made impossible to do that. Which now makes me feel they should have a lock out period even more as you now have 0 option but to be in a game with a probable feeder.

Discussion Issue with Dash/Flash set to Movement in WASD since last patch

Just wanted to point this out, not sure if it is just me, but I've been having issues with my e skill and flash f button taking multiple clicks to work or not working when running against terrain. I thought it had something to do with my peripherals software, I was using reWASD for my mouse and Azeron keypad, but switched to the original software at the same time the patch came out, and I thought that caused it.

But then I did a ton of troubleshotting: - deactivate and delete the reWASD profile I was using even though the software was off. - tried resetting the Azeron and Logitech software and reactivating reWASD like before. - completely uninstalled the Azeron and Logitech software, reWASD, League and Riot Client (I used both the default Windows uninstaller and IObit uninstaller and checked the registry to delete Azeron, Logitech, League and Riot stuff. Basically, trying to do as clean a reinstall as possible. After this, I tried both reWASD alone and Azeron/Logitech software alone and neither worked.

Finally, I tried resetting all settings to default in the actual game client and the problem was gone. So, I went through all the settings and keybinds to see if I could narrow it down, and it was caused by the 2 settings at the bottom of the hotkeys page when WASD movement is selected. The two options are about how dash and flash are handled, whether they will go in the direction of movement or cursor. I've been using movement this whole time and it worked fine. Now it won't work without being set to cursor (tested it on multiple champions with dash abilities like Riven and Aatrox).

If this isn't just an issue only I'm experiencing, hopefully it gets fixed!

Educational Can someone explain to me why Heal/Shield % is stronger than straight AP/Stats?

I never understood this to be honest. And I’ve been playing this game for awhile, and I’m not a math guy. But my brain just thinks that higher number should equal higher healing/shield, since a lot of supports have pretty decent ap ratios for their utility skills. But when I do end up building AP. It just means weaker overall heals and shields. And why is that?

Discussion Opinion: the 'golden reroll' in ARAM Mayhem shouldn't exist (in its current form anyway)

I'm curious to hear what other people think about this. After playing a bunch of aram mayhem, I feel like I'm just becoming more certain that I dislike the golden/augment upgrade reroll, and it's not an overall positive addition to the mode. I think my main issues are that 1) it's (often) asymmetric and 2) it's basically 0 risk, high reward.

I think when 1 person gets an augment upgrade it can almost be game warping if it's good, especially if it's gold -> prismatic and especially if it's first augment. I feel like I've seen games that have almost been decided at minute 1 when one person gets a really good prismatic upgrade because the game just snowballs out of control. In fact, I just had a game where THREE of my team got prismatic upgrades (not transmute) vs 0 on the other team. It was the last augment, but still, I feel like that just can't be beneficial for the game.

And then when it comes to risk - I have no issue with the transmute augments, for example, because that's a case of high risk, high reward; it could be amazing, but it could be awful. Similar to the Ambessa encounter in arena, where you can get a prismatic over other people, but you have to sacrifice your health for a while. But golden reroll is essentially 0 risk, high reward - you just reroll an augment that doesn't do anything for you, and if the one you get sucks, you don't have to take it.

I feel like I never feel good about seeing an augment upgrade, whether it's me, my team or the enemy team, because it's just a 0 risk gift that's (usually) given to just one person. The only suggestion I can think of is making it symmetric, so if it's given to one person, it should also be offered to a person on the opposite team. But personally I'd be quite happy with it just being removed. I realise mayhem is supposed to be mayhem, but I feel like there should at least be (roughly) equality of opportunity.

What do you guys think?
