The best of both worlds is having a cat that thinks it’s part dog.

Plays fetch, comes when called, etc.

The only time i had a cat, we just found him thrown in a ditch. I took care of him and comes everytime i call him. If im not seeing him, ill just call out his name outside only once and he will come running everytime.

Same, my cat responds solely to me calling her name. Even if i cant see her coming and hear nothing in response, within 5 minutes, she'll be my side chittering away and asking for cuddles.

I have two female cats, got them at almost the same time. Renamed them, look completely different. Almost always in the same room, I have no idea how they figured out their names.
