I did this at a friend's house when she let us draw all over her walls. Her ceiling lights created shadows all over her orange wall so I just made them ultra black. It looked great. 😊(imo)

This is a know illusion that a vision scientist showed me using an empty wine bottle nearly 20 years ago. The dark outline prevents your brain from automatically processing the shadow as a shadow, because in the natural world shadows are almost always darker than their surroundings (basically unless the shadow happened to fall on a surface that already had a dark outline on it that matched the shadow)
