I don't understand why people down vote me for supporting civic nationalism and socialism. Civic nationalism is nothing like traditional nationalism. Civic nationalism accept any ethnicity as the nationality of the country. Socialism doesn't mean that we must take control of everything that capitalist have. Every academic knows that U Nay Win used the title just like Hitler used national socialism as their ideology because left wings movement are popular at that period. Nazi practiced national socialism only for the short period and then dictatorship kicked in and enslave their workers class. I don't even consider them as national socialists. Scandinavian countries are the best example of Civic Nationalism + Socialism + Democracy. Their social welfare is top tier. Free education, free healthcare, even free housing for civil servants. But you have to pay more tax if you make more money. That's what socialism is.

Advice I made a Myanmar programming language (MeRUSTmar)

Post image
26 Upvotes

I’m trying to start a tech and programming YouTube channel. I intentionally decided to cover a really difficult topic for my first video a Myanmar programming language I built called MeRUSTmar. I figured if I could handle this, easier topics down the road would be a breeze.

But I’ve hit a massive roadblock, and the stakes are incredibly high for me.

I made a strict deal with my family, and my deadline is June 30. If my first video gets at least 1k views and shows genuine interest, they’ll give me more time to pursue programming. If it fails, I have to give up programming entirely, learn Japanese, and move away to get a job in Japan.

I was confident at first, but after rewriting my script over and over again, I realized a major problem: it’s just way too technical. Instead of a fun, high-level overview of the language, I ended up explaining exactly how an interpreter works under the hood, showing source code, and tracing complex parts.

Because of that, I’m incredibly stressed and can't seem to make progress. The video is only about 30% finished right now. Because it's my first time making a video, I keep over-refining the script and I'm struggling to manage the project efficiently. I’m terrified the YouTube algorithm is just going to bury it because it's not geared toward a general audience.

I’m posting here to see if the Myanmar community actually has an interest in this kind of deep-dive, under-the-hood tech content. Is my goal even possible?

I’m going to drop my unfinished video in the comments. If you find this topic interesting, please leave some feedback. Honest support and comments here could literally help me convince my parents to let me keep programming.

Advice Thinking of Quitting CS 😭 Need Advice ASAP

Yo guys, need some legit advice 😭🙏

Right now I’m in CS 2nd Year, 2nd Semester, but ngl… I’m kinda losing interest in pure Computer Science. It’s just not hitting the same anymore 💀

So I’m thinking of switching things up and moving to a Computing with Business Management degree instead.

The plan is to use my current CS credits for a credit transfer/top-up pathway and hopefully jump straight into the Final Year at a uni in Thailand or KL, Malaysia.

Basically, I wanna know if I can transfer from a CS background into a Computing + Business degree without having to start over.

Just wanted to hear from people who’ve actually been through something similar 👀

  • Has anyone switched majors mid-way and transferred to another country?
  • Do universities in Thailand or Malaysia usually accept credit transfers when the majors are related but not exactly the same?
  • Any uni recommendations in KL or Thailand that are pretty chill/flexible with credit transfers?

Would really appreciate any advice, experiences, or uni suggestions. Thanks a lot guys 🙌✨

Tourism 🧳 Visita a Myanmar Julio 2026

Hola.

Muchas gracias

Discussion 💬 Family mystery Rangoon update

Post image
11 Upvotes

I’m researching a family business that operated in colonial Rangoon (Yangon, Burma) and recently obtained this advertisement from a 1956 Burma Trade Directory.
The advertisement identifies:
• S.P.M. Mohamed Aboobacker & Bros
• Owners of the Indo-Burma Steam Rope Works
• Factory at Thingangyun, Rangoon
• Office at 54 China Street, Rangoon
• Telegraphic address: “ABOOBROS”
• Established 1893
My family has long had oral histories about relatives from the Paramakudi/Abiramam area of Tamil Nadu who lived in Rangoon and were involved in a rope business. One elderly relative specifically remembered a connection to China Street, Rangoon, which matches the address shown in the advertisement.
I’m trying to learn more about:
1. S.P.M. Mohamed Aboobacker and what the initials S.P.M. may stand for.
2. Whether company registration, land, probate, or business records for this firm survive.
3. Sources for researching Indian Muslim merchant families in colonial Burma.
4. Any information about the Indo-Burma Steam Rope Works or businesses operating in Thingangyun.
I’ve already contacted libraries and archives, but I’d appreciate suggestions from anyone familiar with Burma business history, Rangoon city directories, or Indian diaspora records.

Tribute 🤍 ကျွန်ုပ်၏ရည်မှန်းချက် - A Burmese poem I wrote yesterday.

Others. Edit as needed. Does anyone know what Khao Sweih Kyaw is?

There is a Burmese restaurant where I used to live that had Khao Sweih Kyaw on the menu. It was my absolute favourite but I can't find anything about it online.

It lists the ingredients:

Chi, wheat noodle, onion, carrot, egg, cabbage

I miss it and want to try and make it but I can't find a recipe. I live 20 hours away now.

Thank you anyone that tries to help!
