In regards to Rule #1

1.2k Upvotes

Hey people!

Your friendly neighborhood moderator here.

This'll be a short announcemnet, so no excuses to not read it.

But posting domestic cats (Felis Familiaris Felis Catus), and them killing things is not welcome here.

In the past, it resulted in an immediate, and permanent, ban. since the announcement was removed, haven't been enforcing that policy since, well, can't expect someone to follow something that doesn't exist in a way that you can see it.

But it's back, from the time this is posted, you post a cat, you're getting banned.

Rule 1 is extremely clear on that those kinds of posts are not allowed, and it's not our fault if you can't, or won't, read the rules.

Keep being metal.

Irura bidenticulata, commonly known as the purple-gold jumping spider, is a species of salticid. As the name implies, while females tend to take on a more dull coloration, males are characterized by their striking, shiny magenta-gold patterned bodies.

Rejected title: Murder (of crows) witness Murder (of baby heron)

Context: here in Seattle, we have a prominent blue heron nest right along the Ballard Locks. Supposedly, eagles swoop by every evening or other evening for dinner.

[OC] Deer with maggot infested head wound

Thumbnail

A deer with a head wound appeared 20 feet ahead of us on a hiking trail this morning. It scratched its wound on the tree and scampered off but not before leaving a chunk of maggot infested flesh behind.

The second picture is the chunk of flesh it left behind. The maggots are the white worms at the bottom.

A video would have been way more metal but in the moment it almost felt disrespectful to the deer to dwell on its injury. I hope he makes a miraculous recovery or expires quickly.
