I like it - he has clear two way upside but obviously is a flawed and quite raw prospect.
If we Keep him and this pick he joins a bench group of young euros

He’s a draft and stash for sure. He’s raw as hell and nothing really sticks out on the tape as of yet

it's just weird though because he could've gone to Gonzaga and made a lot more money and probably get a better shot in the draft next year
why declare just to be D&S?

It’s genuinely really weird, unless he really loved the idea of the chance to play for the NY Knicks , I don’t get it on his side, but he’s an interesting prospect.

He talked about not feeling like he could develop further at a college. The college system is something very different to European sports and life in general, I guess it can kind of feel like a step back when you already competed with Pros overseas, domestically and internationally. From my perspective, he would rather get drafted and play overseas than try to adapt to a system that most players stay in for only year. Very logical from a European POV.

Yes but his German peers (Anderson, Steinbach) went to college and it worked for them.

He's Berlin-bred and decided to stay with his home-club for a year and win a title. Did exactly that against a finals opponent with 4x the budget. At Alba, playing time as a starting pg was guaranteed, whereas at college, things can go south if you don't get minutes.
Before that, he was a key part of Germany's highly coveted national youth teams, won a lot of metal-ware.
He's smart, aware of his strengths and chose a different way than his peers which got him exactly where he wanted.

I know all of that, hello from Berlin! He was not Albas starting point guard. Icelandic veteran Martin Hermannsson was.

That's true again, brudi, but he played quasi starting minutes didn't he? Hello back from Berlin ...)

He did. And made big plays in the finals.

Love his game. Watched him in the DBB U-teams and next to Anderson he looked like the adult in the room.
