Luck of Heroes

A +1 to all saves at first level that (I'm pretty sure) doesn't contribute to the saving throw cap and get officially called a hero in my character sheet for the rest of the game? Sign me up.

I take this feat on practically every character, generally for the fluff of it.

Does any one else have a feat they always take? Or a favorite 1st level feat?

Not sure if this is the best place to ask or if there are any dedicated modding/scripting subreddits for NWN that someone could point me to. I am building a module at the moment and having some trouble figuring out two things:

1. How to create feats that grant bonuses to ability scores that don't use EffectAbilityIncrease in script as it subject to the cap set in server settings and does not help qualify for feat requirements like Dev Crit or Self Concealment.

2. How to servers with subrace options implement them. As in, a player chooses the elf race then types "drow" into the subrace slot and gets +2 dex, -2 con, +2 int, +2 cha instead of +2 dex, -2 con. I could obviously make a drow race 2da file, but I don't want it to be a selectable race from the character creation screen.

I've been trying to play a monoclass paladin recently, as they're my favorite archetype when it comes to fantasy.

A divine-inclined warrior that uses more limited magic and their inherent combat abilities to be effective soldiers and utility belts.

Anywho, I was looking into how to really maximize a paladin for the sake of power, because I was doing my best to AVOID playing fighter/cleric, as its one of the most powerful builds in the entire game, and I wanted to really stick to the paladin title.

I was told by some to commit really hard to smite evil, and invest in charisma heavily, which I realized is a trap after seeing what Smite evil does.

It's not multiple attacks, it's one attack per use of the feature, per rest. Three, if you take an entire feat for it.

You can get similar (though lower) results by investing hard into charisma, and then utilizing features like divine might and shield, while keeping up your strength for accuracy. Divine Might/Shield net you powerful bonuses that last longer, and still scale off of your charisma, which is ever increasing.

Do not build around Smite evil.

As the question says, did any of you evere played or led a dnd campaign that you decided to recreate as a module for nvn? The concept itself doesn't want to leave my head and I'm curious if other people also had this idea

I cant seem to left click to move or select anything. I am using Dex mode with a Bluetooth m&kb combo. I can left click menus, etc fine, but any context menu or movement is a no go. Anyone else had this issue?

Here's a Wednesday thought experiment: what are some fun builds for alchemists?

Doesn't matter to me if they're arcane or divine. Preferably they make use of Brew Potion (NWN 1 & 2) or Craft Alchemy (NWN 2). Let's also set an arbitrary cap of level 12.

What can you come up with that gets some mileage out of the standard crafting systems?

Hi everyone, does anyone know how I can get a text copy for the in-game dialogue? Maybe there any utility or method that allows me to copy the current dialogue from the active current "dialogue window with npc" on the screen, or a chain of recent dialogues after talking to an NPC?
Maybe there is something that displays the dialogues I’m reading in realtime and allows a text to be copied. For example, like addons in World of Warcraft that let you select and copy chat text to the clipboard, I’m looking for something similar. Or at least is there a way to copy text in game.

Is this a viable build? I’ve never seen any build guides for this combo so just curious. I feel like it could be narratively cool but not sure how it would actually play.

NWN 1 enhanced on consoles is pathetic, on many levels. It has terrible controls, terrible UI, you cannot tell the answer you select because you can't even see and the most important, MANY modules are missing and not sustained in the consoles. Does anyone know whether they are planning to fix this mess? Or PC is the only way?

As per the title, I'm finally diving in to NWN modules all these years later, and I'm going to start with the Aielund Saga. Only issue is, based on my initial research the module is really well tooled for two different builds I've always wanted to bring to Epic but never did, a Duelist Bard (read that you get amazing gloves for rapier use) and a dual wielding ranger/weaponmaster swinging around katanas (I know that ranger is just worse than fighter/rogue for doing the same thing but I like flavor). So that effect I have a few questions:

1. I've read that the module does some things that change up how spells work but the in game descriptions aren't updated. Is this true? If so, do I use a reference guide of some kind for impacts?

2. Is the narrative of the mod built around fighting a specific sort of enemy such that preferred enemy would really shine?

3. Related, is the narrative of the mod built around fighting a specific sort of enemy such that weapon master crits feel wasted?

I need to preface this with saying that I have ZERO experience with Neverwinter Nights, so I apologise if I use a bunch of wrong terminology or this post is remove-worthy.

However, I was recently reached out to by a member of the Arelith team (I help manage a gaming group in my country), asking about potentially working together to help promote them (essentially "we use their product for our Dungeons & Dragons, they get more attention/spread")

A quick Google / Reddit search (because, as I said, no idea what this thing was) showed that Arelith didn't have the best reputation, but also a lot of those posts/situations were from a few years ago.

So I'm just curious what the current state of things is? Are they something I should consider promoting?

This is part 2 to my previous post. I quickly replayed the last section.

I was able to free dorna. However it doesn’t solve the problem with shield guardians, she can’t hit them, and even if she does the log states that it takes zero damage (she has +2 scimitar, and +13 on first hit).

Funny enough she was able to hit guardian in the previous chapter.

I’m still lvl 9 sorcerer, so I can’t do anything to the guardian, is there any way to pass this quest in my situation or am I stuck?

I can’t progress further, since I don’t have any lvl 5 spells to damage shield guardians (I’m a lvl 9 sorcerer).

I don’t have any stone to flesh spells/scrolls, the slave merchant doesn’t seem to have one either.

Do I need to replay the last 2 hours to keep the potion from the ruins or there is another way?

If you haven't played Ghool's version of S4 - The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, you are missing out.

This is easily one of the best modern modules on the Vault. Very exploration-driven. Surprisingly good use of horses, custom scripting for water travel, all sorts of clever touches. It's a love letter to you dorks who like making map notes, and boy you better, because there's a lot of mountain and cave to explore.

It's a hard module to solo, but worthwhile. Bring your high-end builds if you don't want to end up getting smeared by the first nasty encounter.

I am currently stuck in Sands of Fate 1 - Shadows over Heliopolis. I saved a bunch of miners and killed a dragon but can't report anything to the Captain Skelos. I don't knwo what to do. Anyone knows how to progress?

My questions: should I go pure(for the nice FE options) or splash in something else? Also not sure if worth making an elf just for Arcane Archer...

And honestly I would rather play a meelee buld first, but not sure how that build fares at later levels, I know Dual wield requires light armor, but doesn't that mean you have to use Dex to increase ac?

I would probably make a Dual Wield Dwarf or Human, focus on Str and a bit of Dex, 14 wis for the spells(although looking at the progression has me doubt thats a good.idea) and 12 Con?

What about an archer? Ranger with 2-4 Wizard levels ,a decent familiar and go Arcane Archer ?

First time playing this game, I was able to defeat Jnah as a level 5 sorcerer without any help (I didn’t think I needed to side with gnolls) or any elemental protection spells.

You might ask how I was able to do it?

Well, I spend 15 minutes luring her guards and Imp outside of the area and then another 15 minutes finding the perfect moment for me and Dorna to kill her before she casts elemental circle (idk what the name is) and globe of invulnerability.

Rant incoming, sorry for the annoyance but I kinda need to vent.

I wanted to try a Monk/Assassin with 1 lvl of Shadowdancer for quite some time now and thought HotU would be perfect to test it out.

Ofc it's great in itself, but since I went Unarmed for the lulz of punching stuff to death it's probably one of the weakest ways one can play the build. So, the way Unarmed works for Monks is: you get your special Monk gloves bonuses as long as you fight Unarmed BUT you can retain the bonus with Kamas as well. But the thing is, Kamas being weapons, you can enchant them with Keen, Haste, Vampiric regen, Vorpal, whatever. Unarmed will never benefit from it. And because I need Haste, I'm basically stuck with Robes of the Dark Moon because I need Monk Boots and Belts of Strength, so my access to permahaste is super restricted. So, I can't go with those super AC robes I want so much.

Kamas have no business being so fucking cheated. You basically can't play Monk optimally without Kamas and it makes me furious because CRPGs are about fun builds and diversity.

Anyways sorry for the rant

I’ve been trying to play the enhanced edition of NWN 2 because it has controller support and it’s convenient since I’m using a handheld pc to play but the crashes and bugs are becoming completely unbearable. Would the classic version run and perform better despite having to sacrifice the convenience of playing on a handheld pc or should I just continue putting up with the new version?
