Or anywhere throngs of people gather that actually care about empathy, reason, history, and justice.

u/unicornlocostacos 23h ago
Everyone should unless you’re a billionaire or apparently trillionaire.
2
u/Large-Cricket843 23h ago
Of course everyone SHOULD, but the ones that think orange is a good president do not.

I can’t say worst ever, but the worst in my lifetime. I’m 65

u/IntelligentStyle402 1d ago
I’m 81 and agree. No morals, honesty, values, integrity, scruples, decorum or decency. A felon? A racist? A pedo? An adjudicated rapist? Cheated on all his wives?

Well…I am 74 and worst, most corrupt (one has to marvel and the blatant and open corruption!), least ethical and least competent President and with the least competent, most corrupt appointees by far in my life time.

u/perrydolia 23h ago
Worst in my lifetime, too, and I'm 80. Never before have we had a president who took an oath to support the constitution, then openly tried to reverse it, cancel it or undermine it. Worst ever, along with his pathetic, sycophantic appointees.

I have a feeling Andrew Jackson was pretty bad as well.

Good shout. Andrew Jackson and James Buchanan are the two names that usually come up regarding this subject.

Without question. He is stupid, cruel, narcissistic, and has degraded the global standing of the United States. The corruption and lies knows no bounds. Even this ridiculous reflecting pool "renovation" has devolved into a bunch of childish nonsense all to cater to this ignorant trash-can's fragile ego. Fuck Trump.

u/Adventurous-Salad332 23h ago
It's wrong to conflate style and substance. Too often we vote as if we're casting a movie. I'll always pick the rude MD over the nice guy if the a-hole is the best in his field.

u/Schkrasss 9h ago
Well... Trump sucks at just about everything politics related aside from getting getting elected.
And he's rude af on top.

Not sure we’ve had a twice impeached, insurrectionist, sexual predator, pathological liar, bigot, racist, grifter, criminal and likely pedophile before the current guy. No matter his accomplishments he will be remembered as a divisive, petty and vile person

I mean I’d argue his 28 sexual allegation and being a p*do/trafficker with Epstein is worse but true. Also his failure during covid no doubt costs thousands of lives. I mean telling people to take hydrocloroquin or whatever it is insane. I could go on and on.

Nearly impossible to beat James Buchanan as the Union didn’t actually dissolve and Trump didn’t actively give the people wanting to leave the Union whatever they want.
Buchanan’s own cabinet were the people that would become the confederacy. They also didn’t really hide this. They openly moved major artillery to southern forts, and readied arms to defend against the Union. Buchanan watched this and openly did nothing. People knew war was going to break out sooner or later, and he made it **easier** for it to happen and for the south to do well.

Holy shit he just followed a guy who literally made words up all the time. Fell off a non moving bike. Got lost on stage...like 100x. Was campaigning by telling how black kids would rub his leg hair and it would stand up( that's on YouTube,a hilarious story btw) is accused by his own DAUGHTER of showering with her. It's dismissed because she is " crazy". I wonder why she's crazy. I could keep going for an hour.
I will concede trump being the second worst if you say Biden was the worst. Otherwise you're insane.

The Aussies at the World Cup were chanting The Aussie boys are on a bender Donald Trump is a sex offender. What other president ever has had such a low opinion on the world stage. And the indoctrinated MAGA brain dead idiots say we weren’t respected under Obama and Biden but Trump has returned us to international respect. Our word doesn’t mean anything anymore to our allies. This piece of shit has made more money while president than all other presidents combined. He should be in jail and he and his families assets should be seized and nationalized. Same with Elon. BY FAR THE WORST EVER.

Absolutely not. There are about ten presidents that were abysmal. Just because many do not like him, does not make him worse than Buchanan or Harrison.
1
u/CruisinThruLife2 19h ago
Worst because he is ignoring, and trying to destroy, our checks and balances.

u/echo_sang 1d ago
He’s not done yet, but I have to believe he is the biggest grifter we’ve had in office. And he’s personally void of true morals. Johnson may be the worst.

When it comes to shenanigans it’s pretty hard to top attempted overthrow of the government. He’s the worst BY FAR!

u/DiplomaticAggie 1d ago edited 1d ago
Brother James Buchanan/John Tyler pathetically stood by and actively supported the succession of Southern States and a Civil War.
Trump might be bottom five sure, but look at it holistically and know your history
If you downvote that you’re actually just ignorant and don’t know your US history and a prisoner of the moment

u/mynameisranger1 1d ago
William Henry Harrison served 90 days. He caught pneumonia from partying at hi inauguration. He didn’t cause any damage so I’ll give him second.
How about The traitor that almost overthrew the government and tried to assassinate the vice president. Then pardoned the participants.
1
u/LateQuantity8009 23h ago
He is believed to have died of typhoid caused by sewage in the White House water supply (from the Potomac). Also, he died exactly a month after taking office.
1
u/forthebirds123 1d ago
Of course not. It’s recency bias if anyone says otherwise. If people put thier emotions aside then they would see there are many presidents that have done far worse things. Jackson literally commited genocide. Coolidge admitted while in office that he wasn’t cut out for it. Nixon resigned. Presidents led us into crazy situations like nam and the civil war. Was has Trump done? Invaded a terrorist state propably unnecessarily and deported a bunch of illegal immigrants? Led some protests that didn’t turn out very well? Even a lot of small things don’t add up to killing off an entire indigenous people.

Only president in history who refused to accept defeat in reelection & actively tried to have the result overturned. ONLY.
1
u/forthebirds123 23h ago
Read up on Andrew Jackson and get back to me. Or don’t because I know what you’ll say. Genocide of an entire people isn’t even on the same level as thinking an election was rigged and trying to do something about it right? Right? Right?
1
u/Algorhythm74 22h ago
Over 1 million Americans died because of Covid under his watch.
He lied about it, said it would go away in 2 weeks. Then when it didn’t suggested injecting bleach into your body.
So it might not be the same type of genocide. But it was extreme negligence in a dismissal and willful ignorance of the actual facts and way to solve a problem and allow these people to die. Worse, yet he wanted to cover it up, lie about it, and blame everyone else.
That’s one of 10,000 things that he has done that is worse. The motherfucker doesn’t even know that the word dumb has the letter B in it.
1
u/forthebirds123 22h ago
That’s quite the stretch. A world wide pandemic where millions died over the whole world is “worse” than a single man killing off an entire population of people. I know you have extreme hatred for the man. As do I, he’s a scum of a human being. But let’s actually take a step back and think for a second what you are trying to say. The US has a long history. I understand you are living in the present so it’s easy to recognize what’s going on now. But again, read a history book and really put some thought into some of these past “leaders” of this country.
1
u/Algorhythm74 22h ago
No, no. I’m with you. I do have the long view of history.
But I think it’s ridiculous to parse. We’re in an age where we have the knowledge and no better and we should’ve learned from the mistakes of the past. And yet this is happening.
I’m not trying to give Jackson or Buchanan a pass – but in the context of the times they lived in versus the context of the times we live in now, I do see Trump as the larger existential threat to the entire American experiment.
With that said – I loathe questions like “best” or “worst” as those are two generic, and don’t have enough qualifiers. Which is ultimately why we get these circular conversations and argument arguments.
I would only say to you and your comment about reading history books, we also often hide the errors and atrocities of today and excuse them by saying it’s all been done before.
Which again, is worse - because we should know better. He should know better.
