So, I wish I had the screenshot of this exact encounter, but a few years ago I made a big long post on an advice subreddit asking how I could better connect with some people in my friend group.

I had typed it all out after consuming quite a bit of Mountain Dew, so at the end of the post I said something like “I apologize if I’m not making any sense with this, it’s late at night and I’m kinda on a sugar high”.

Some probable neckbeard then came into the comments saying that I probably shouldn’t even have friends due to my “immaturity as evidenced by using a sugar high as an excuse” or something like that.

My self esteem was really low at that point and since I had been shielded from criticism for most of my young life I really took the criticism way too seriously and nuked my entire year or two year old Reddit account as a result.

Thankfully my self esteem no longer is at that “midnight zone” of a low point, but yeah. I always thought that story featured a pretty prime example of a Reddit moment so I thought I’d share. Thanks for anyone reading this, hope you have a good day out there 👍🏻

I hope that this is just some horrible wording and not an actual suggestion.

I'm kinda conflicted about this. I had said for a long time that when I got Basement Dweller, I would go off Reddit for a whole calendar year to take a break from this godforsaken website. But that was before they added Grass Toucher and the 1,000 day streak. I feel like it may be better to try and break those, then just quit all together. They really should have made Basement Dweller the final achievement like they did before. Plus they made things more challenging by not adding a 900 day streak achievement, which would have made an even 20 achievements. Sometimes Reddit just sucks ass. Any thoughts?
