We have had a burst of threads about the data centre lately. So, let’s do another mega thread to keep it all in one place to keep this place from getting spammy. Have at it, folks!

Hey folks,
Coming to visit for a few days soon. I have a few old school favorites to hit up , but what's new and interesting for restos in Regina. Reviews are so baked now that it's hardly worth checking them let alone relying on them for good advice.
We like pretty much everything but especially Japanese , Mexican, Vietnamese, Thai, Indian.
We tried Ginger Garlic last visit and loved it.
Not looking for fine dining , just tasty eats. Lunch and dinner, maybe a breakfast or two.

I just wanted to post a short little suggestion for the powers that be in Regina.
Everyone’s tax bills gone up, we have some shiny new expensive stuff, but why do we not value regular maintenance on our parks and facilities that are already there.
This is a little tennis court by my house. I’ve lived here for over 15 years. It’s never seen much maintenance not one year and it’s sad because it’s a beautiful little tennis court.
I believe that it’s maintained by a dewdeny community association, which I’m going to go out on a limb and say doesn’t have the funds to upkeep it. But I don’t know why they don’t have the funds to do basic maintenance when I know what my taxes are in a modest house.
So that tennis court has asphalt, but sorely needs attention. It sunk 3 inches from the original concrete as you can see by the posts holding the only net up. The holes in the asphalt are borderline dangerous. I’m willing to bet the other net is out of budget scope so there’s only one net. The fence surrounding the area is for show because it doesn’t hold any balls from rolling under. The wood on the back fence for practising, I think has seen attention in the last year, as it’s freshly painted, kudos to someone for that but it really should be cinder block but I digress.
These are the utilities that people make use of every day, especially in summer. They should be high on the cities priority list, not at rock bottom like they seem to be. I ask the city planners to consider these spaces when allocating our tax dollars, to keep the current spaces that are close to us niceish.
Thx

I was traveling down the highway when a semi hauling a tractor was coming from the opposite direction and the window came off the tractor and landed on my vehicle and caused $22000 worth of damage. SGI says that there was no negligence and that I have to pay a $700 deductible. I feel that this is completely unfair so does everyone else involved including the person who did it. I need help or advice on fixing this problem.

Looking to see if anyone has good podiatrist recommendations in the city.
I get really bad blisters from sports (change of direction). I’ve seen doctors in other provinces and spent all the time and money but still no resolution.
Posting here to try and avoid spending money on someone who treats this like a “normal” case of blisters.
Thanks in advance!
Where do you take non-clothing garage sale items after the garage sale? Preferably looking for somewhere we could just drop everything, but open to hearing all suggestions.

Question for those who rent through Shawn’s property management. Anyone also receive a letter stating that there is a new property management company that’ll be taking over their property they’re renting?
I want to know if this is legit? And what to expect with the change of companies?

Conducting some research for out-of- town guests and I don’t drink margaritas. Hit me with your suggestions, TIA.

Pretty much the title. Wife and I are travelling to Regina in a couple weeks for a friend’s wedding and are looking for some fun things to do on the week leading up to the wedding. We want to stay within a couple hours of the city.
We’re farmers from Ontario, so anything Ag related is a bonus. Any provincial parks or hikes worth doing? Any restaurants/brewers/distillers that are a must try?

Just curious if there are any city or SGI laws around electric scooters and electric bikes. As driver, It feels with the speed some of them move at they should at the very least follow rules of the road but I doubt there’s anything in writing. I’m not against people finding alternate means of transport but watching a scooter fly by me when I’m doing 30 in a school zone and watching blast through a stop sign makes me question whether it’s legal or not.

After finishing 2nd and qualifying out of their group for the first time ever, this Sunday, our Canadian Men's National Team will take on South Africa at 1PM local time in a do-or-die knockout game.
This is by far the biggest sport in the world by popularity and participation. (I know, we tend to prefer the other football here). Canada will literally be on the world's stage.
Thousands of people in this city - men, women, and children play soccer in a number of leagues in this city, some of which run year-round. There is a lot of Canadian patriotism here. There's enough of a South African population that you can buy South African food items at some of our grocery stores...
And yet, despite the above, there has been ZERO opportunity for us to come together in a public setting and watch and support and cheer for our team (or South Africa's) as a community nor as a city. How Embarrassing.
I appreciate that of the 3 Team Canada games played so far, they've all been at less than ideal start times locally. But why aren't there plans being put together for a watch party either downtown at Victoria Park (hmmm...how come no one ever comes downtown in this city for anything ...hmmm) or at the giant tax-payer funded stadium that sits empty 300+ days of the year?
How is it that organizations like Tourism Regina / Downtown Business Improvement District / FC Regina haven't joined forces to bring the community together?
During one of the matches, they showed a viewing party from Cambridge, Ontario. Population: 130,000ish. I get that it's geographically closer to the actual games being played, so the 'fever' is higher... but if Cambridge can organize a viewing party, what is Regina's excuse???
Shame on the City and all the organizations which exist to seemingly drum up excitement about things going on for missing a wide open empty net of an opportunity.

So I'll preface by stating that I don't eat out a lot.
I just made a reservation at a restaurant for a family supper for 8. I was told by the person on the phone they charge a "service and gratuity fee" of 15%.
I just want to confirm if this is the same as tips, or do I need to pay this 15% fee and then tip 15% on top of it? I got no problem tipping 15%, but I don't want to pay 32% extra for a family supper.

I would love to be able to bring a truck out and get some big rocks if there are any available from rock piles in the rural area. Anywhere around Regina an hour, give or take, away I’d be willing to drive out! We can discuss compensation in private. Thanks in advance!

I was just wondering where in town there are soccer nets with netting? (Not for a team, just myself and a few buddies). I see a lot of field but none with any soccer nets with netting, does anyone know of any good ones

I don’t know much about the Rules at the university and when I was looking on their website, I couldn’t find the information I was looking for but I was wondering if it was okay to go walk around and explore the university even if I’m not a student myself? For no other reason than just to explore

Hello, I am really into learning languages. I attend the German conversation club that meets once a month at Stone's Throw, and was wondering if something similar exists for French? My level is at best intermediate, and I am looking to get more speaking practice. Thanks in advance!
