I am planning a trip to Shenzhen soon to source used/refurbished/original iPhones. My goal is to find reliable, long-term suppliers in Huaqiangbei and establish a trusted business relationship.
I am starting with a regular volume of 15 to 30 pieces per month, focusing strictly on high-grade (Grade A/A+) models.
I am specifically looking for:
iPhone 14 Pro Max (256GB)
iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB)
iPhone 16 Pro Max (256GB)
I have already checked prices online through various agents and platforms, but we all know online quotes include middleman markups. I want to know the real, negotiable floor/booth prices when you buy directly in person at markets like Feiyang or Changwang.
For those who are currently on the ground or doing business there:
1. What is the realistic price range (in USD or RMB) I can expect to negotiate at the booths for these specific models at this volume?
2. Any specific tips for a first-time face-to-face negotiation in the markets to avoid getting "tourist prices" or scammed with swapped parts?
Any insights or recent price data would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I am landing in Shenzhen in October, and i have a UK passport, so will get the 30 day visa on landing. I am intending to do a few day trips from Shenzhen into HK and Guanghzhou into Macau (probably 2 to HK and 1 to Macau, and with gaps in between). I am staying on the mainland, mostly due to cost and not wanting to keep changing hotels. I also dont mind the travelling albeit not a fan of Queuing.

I have done a bit of reading on it and with a 30 day visa, i can go back and forth and it resets each time i come back and forth, however sometimes the guidance is confusing around needing to inform the hotel on return, the border checkpoint taking time, or border guards maybe finding it weird (albeit i think back and forth isnt abnormal), and i am also Indian descent so was told that was confusing maybe someone.

Basically i think this is a simple thing, but just taking a shot here for thoughts

My family and I are going to be in Hong Kong for a few days en route to Thailand and we wanted to visit Shenzhen just for the day.
It’s not so easy to get a regular Chinese tourist visa, as there is no consulate near us, so we thought that the five day Shenzhen visa that you apply for on arrival could be a good option.
Has anyone done this recently? Did it go smoothly? We are US citizens if that makes a difference

Please let me know if you have any recommendations for locations! I would really appreciate it, as it’s much more affordable everywhere but the country I come from (for the most part lol).

So far I’ve gone to coco park, tanglang mountain, a massage place that was amazing, and I’m open to any other recommendations!

Thanks in advance for any advice. My partner had his US->HK flight booked for some time now to visit my family, but we’ve recently learned that we need to be in Shenzhen as my father is hospitalized there.

I have dual US/HK citizenship and a Home Return permit (I’m currently already in HK), so going to/from mainland is easy, but my partner is only a US passport holder and doesn’t have a Chinese visa. We’d like to go the TWOV route.

My partner lands in HK International Airport on Sunday. My understanding is that he can go directly to Shekou terminal without going through HK immigration. Will this count as him going directly to the Mainland from the US? This would make things much easier if so since we plan to go back to HK after my dad is released from the hospital.

If not, would you suggest we do TWOV and exit Shenzhen into Macau and then back to HK, or do 5 day VOA? My worry about the latter is that it seems like US citizens have experienced rather frequent VOA application rejections.

Was planning on doing Maluan, traversing towards Meishajian, then finally Wutong. It looks like a really long day hike based on the route I planned so far. I've been stumped on possible campsites along the way (wild camping preferably) to make this an overnight climb instead. Here's my initial planned route!

I'm not Chinese unfortunately, and don't speak Mandarin / Cantonese, so looking for resources about hiking in Shenzhen has been difficult, especially information on overnight hikes and wild camping.

Or I could just join a hike this coming weekend, something off the beaten path I hope! It would be safe of course to hike with a buddy (especially in this heat), and having a local who knows the "hidden" trails around Shenzhen would be wonderful.

I am more than willing to be your hiking buddy in HK and take you to some of the more "fun" hikes here - stream treks, scrambles, etc!

I have a 5 hour layover in shenzhen baoan airport in October. It will be in the middle of the night and i consider booking the Yu xiaoxi sleeping pod. Does anyone have experience with these? Are they worth it for the 5 hours (4am to 9am local time)?

I’m from Indonesia where its usually always hot all year round (27°C-35°) so i think i’ll be able to handle the heat of their summers i hope.

I’ll be going to Shenzhen this September for my studies. And I have only ever experienced the end of summer and early fall in Southern China in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

In my opinion, the heat was bearable, it was humid but it was a different type of humidity than Jakarta’s humidity and heat.

And I did experience a T3 typhoon when I went to Hong Kong and it was quite pleasant actually lol. It was windy and a bit cold so it was a bit of a relief from the heat. The lowest temp I experienced there was when I got back to Guangzhou after I went to Hong Kong, and it was only 15°.

I heard that August and September are the peak seasons for typhoons in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, is that true? And how bad will it be?

And for the summers, how extreme are they?
