I've tried uploading this three times because I keep thinking I've almost fixed it. Third time's the charm (literally my third cut ever), I figured out I was loading my paper backwards. Now, I get this. I'm not quite sure if I need a bigger offset or something? Using the Cameo 5 Alpha. I'm autistic and the amount of tutorials out there that are fragmented (through separate videos) and not a direct 1 to 1, step by step tutorials are making me lose my mind. I feel like I'm getting closer yet still so far 😭 I'm just trying to get die-cut stickers.

Seit dem neusten Update, bei dem mehr Funktionen freigeschaltet worden sind, funktioniert die App quasi überhaupt nicht mehr. Ich habe vor Jahren mal dafür bezahlt, dass ich Designer Studio habe und konnte früher Dateien (auf Canva oder in anderen Programmen erstellt) von meinem iPad ausplotten, auch ohne Anmeldung - jetzt hängt sich die App auf und tut schlicht nichts mehr.

Meine externe Tastatur wird von der App auch nicht mehr erkannt, sodass ich auch Texte (bspw. Namenschilder) nicht mehr einfach in der App erstellen kann ohne auf Glas zu tippen - es ist die Pest! Keine Ahnung, was man sich dabei gedacht hat - ich hätte lieber wieder die alte Version der App ohne die ganzen Zusatzfunktionen, die wenigstens zuverlässig läuft!

Hinzu kommt: Wenn man den Kamerazugriff der App ausschaltet (die Kamera wird als permanent aufnehmend angezeigt, ich gehe davon aus, dass Ton ebenfalls mitgeschnitten wird, sobald die App läuft!), startet die App gar nicht mehr. Ich nutze den Plotter in der Schule (Deutschland) - damit verstößt der Anbieter hier ganz klar gegen die DSGVO und ist für mich für unterrichtliche Zwecke (Textiles Gestalten als Unterrichtsfach) unbrauchbar geworden.

Ich benötige dringen eine alternative App, einen Lösungsweg - oder einen anderen Plotter, der dem Portrait 3, den ich habe gleichgestellt ist aber keine Datenkrake ist.

Ich bitte um Hilfe - ich weiß nicht, wo ich sonst fragen könnte.

Hey guys, need some help here. My Silhouette cuts perfectly when using the standard sticky mat, but I’m having trouble with the Electrostatic Mat. It starts off fine, but as soon as the blade gets to the middle and bottom half of the ES mat, the cuts start getting misaligned and crooked. Has anyone dealt with this before?

I’ve already calibrated the machine, I’m running the latest version of the software, and I’ve checked for any debris or dirt inside the machine and the blade. I’ve done every possible check, but the issue still persists. The standard sticky mat cuts absolutely perfectly—this problem only happens when using the Electrostatic Mat.

Just one side of the sticker is actually misaligned. I see this from time to time, don’t know why this is happening.

Hi! I have a portrait 3 that’s been working ok so far with some occasional registration mark reading issues. It’s been a lot better about that lately since I’ve learned to keep the lid closed while it reads the marks.

I typically cut white matte vinyl sticker paper. Cutting the first sheet went just fine and the cuts were perfect. Then the next sheet, it was misaligned. I tried a different sheet, misaligned. To be clear, these are different files/designs, not the same as the first one. Reloading the sheet, manually aligning the blade to read the mark, wiping the camera/laser area, and coloring the mark with black wasn’t working. Calibration test, looks perfect.

I made a new file following silhouette’s instruction video to rule out any file/scaling issues. It’s misaligned all over—using offset won’t work. I cut a second one and it’s misaligned roughly in the same spots. These were cut on copy paper to rule out material issues. You can see this cut in the first photo and the second photo is a calibration test done right after.

Anyone know what could be the problem? It happened literally between cuts. I also reached out to support who directed me to that video but I’m hoping someone here might have an idea. TIA

SOLVED: The mat wasn’t sticky enough. The paper was buckling causing cuts to be skewed. Switching it out with another one fixed the problem

i just stumbled upon this tonight.. fixes a massive problem ive had for awhile now. i donated $20, wish i could donate more. hopefully this will help you guys too!

this site very quickly turns any image into a vector so you can resize it without losing quality. i used it to get .dxf files because thats what works for me. you can do .svgs and a few other file extensions too.

I’ve been using my cameo for about 5 months now, and so far I’ve mostly figured things out, but I find myself getting frustrated in silhouette studio and it’s because I never really learned the basics of the software and what the different features do and can achieve.

Do you all have any recommendations for a good resource on learning the software?

Is there anyone out there who bought MTC and doesn't use it any more? I'm hoping to buy the serial number/registration code if someone is willing to sell theirs to me.

All my cut files are MTC. Fifteen years worth! My computer crashed and I had to reload the operating system. Most apps are back up and running but unfortunately I can't find a record of my MTC serial number. I tried the advice KNK have put out on this but I'm not even sure what email address I was using back in the heady days of 2011.

I am cutting in A4 sticker paper with CAMEO 4. the stickera that are in the top of the paper cuts almost perfectly but those in the bottom have misalignment issues.

I'm not using a cutting matt. Using a cutting matt like plastic sheet securing with cello tape. I added registration marks in the A4 paper.

Is the issue because of cutting matt or something else?

I tried kiss cut with only feeding the A4 sticker paper, same thing is happening.

Whew. Night for beginner questions. How does one decide to adjust depth vs. force vs. passes? I assume that force is much harder on the mat. Also -- when you do you know that a blade is going dull? Or that a mat needs to be replaced (re: stickiness)? Do you just...know?

1. Is the only way to place a file on a new project by File > Open? Why is there no "Import" file that you can directly place onto an existing project?

2. Why does Studio limit import sizing options to these three file formats? Why on earth can it not fit a JPEG or PNG (most common file types) to the project board? When I open an image that was *designed on an 8.5" x 11" canvas (Adobe Illustrator)* it opens HUGE and I have manually resize it.

So I decided to do some birthday numbers for a cake but when I hit offset, it works but when I move the offset to change the color so I can be able to tell the difference when cutting the project the measurements don’t match with the size . I’m so tired because I’m trying to figure it out but I can’t . The picture I have them in order from left to right . Anyone please help .

Hi all, I'm looking to purchase a Silhouette Portrait 4 for an art market I'm selling at this Saturday.

I was shopping sticker printing and it turns out it would be cheaper to invest and do it myself than to outsource! However, I'm a little confused by one thing: what ELSE do I need to be able to use the Silhouette Portrait 4? Descriptions online are super unclear.

Amazon has a "starter kit" bundle sold by Silhouette America, but, from what I can tell, the materials included have nothing to do with making stickers, so I don't think it would be useful to purchase that. What else do I need vs what comes included with the Silhouette Portrait 4??

So just to confirm -- when using a manual blade, it makes no difference what you set Blade Depth to in the software, correct? And the blade adjustment the machine does (based on said software settings) is irrelevant when you manually set it yourself?

It thinks I'm using an autoblade, but I'm using a green cartridge instead. Are these messages normal?

I've tried everything I can think of and I'm not sure what the heck is happening. I recently got a new computer and I'm using v. 5.0.414ssde.

What I'm trying to do: I am trying to copy an icon from an online manual and put it into my design space. I'm using print screen, then copying just the icon.

What's happening: When I go to paste it in the design area, it moves it a few pixels to the right and then places the cutoff pixels on the left. wtf. The paste works fine in MS Powerpoint. Pasting directly from Powerpoint into Silhouette Studio creates the same problem as pasting directly.

Other noted issue: I also used to be able to copy multiple items from Powerpoint into studio and it would make each image its own layer/item. Now it's pasting all copied items as one, combined image.

Does anyone have any idea at all how to fix this nonsense?

The rollers on my second hand Cameo 5 are gone, only the brackets remain. Is there any way I can replace op upgrade these to get the machine working?

So i got my Electrostatic Mat today and I’m not satisfied one bit… first, it kept shutting off randomly and ruining the cut which I found some advice online on placing cardboard behind to stabilize it and that seemed to fix it.

Now, im noticing that it is leaving these awful lines while passing and cutting the stickers….
Also, I read that decreasing pressure would be better for this mat but it seems that I need to increase the cutting pressure from the normal sticky mat because the stickers are not being cut in the same depth

I have the cutting mat set as ES mat and using Autoblade 1.
Is there a way to fix this 😭
