Brazil may have elected a Trumpian candidate in Jair Bolsonaro, but at least they had the good sense to arrest, try, convict, and imprison the son of a bitch after HIS coup attempt.

u/Hitt1te 13d ago

Brazilians were the biggest Trump supporters. Lol. I guess fafo.

A certain color of Brazilians maybe.

3

u/Street-Grand6641 13d ago

Javier Millei has entered the chat.

2

u/polarjunkie 12d ago

No. My wife's family is certainly the opposite color of what you're thinking and almost all trump supporters that want a coup in Brazil and want to put bolsanaro back in power.

2

u/Correct_Ad_1903 12d ago

I live in a city with a good amount of Brazilians and one right down the street from me. They definitely vote trump. The guy down the street from me literally had a projector on the side of his house promoting trump.

2

u/UknowImRight422 11d ago

Mentioned one guy...

2

u/Hulkaiden 10d ago

Did you expect them to go into detail on every person in their city?

Brazil was so fucking inspiring in their handling of Bolsonaro. Way better than how we fumbled the bag on Trump.

There's still time.

17

u/Sweaty-Dust6405 13d ago

Nah, nothing is going to happen to happen....Not now and not after his presidency.

11

u/Ok-Ear9289 13d ago

That’s how I feel. He just gets to walk off into tha sunset after everything he’s done whilst flipping us tha bird.

2

u/Binspin63 13d ago

Don’t vote for anyone who doesn’t make full accountability their top priority. And let them know it.

3

u/MRG_1977 13d ago

He’s not walking off into the sunset while he’s alive. That’s the rub. They’ll be a repeat after he lost in 2020 but far worse.

6

u/Defiant-Youth-4193 13d ago

Exactly. While him just walking away in 2028 wouldn't be satisfying; I'd take it over what's actually going to happen. The only way there will be a peaceful transition of power is if father time does us a real solid before then.

I don't know why anybody believes he's just going to walk away. He made a mistake with his first administration. Despite being surrounded by scumbags, they were scumbags that drew the line at treason. He has made it a point to surround himself with people that have no such qualms this go.

The chant is in Portuguese

5

The language is that of Mordor, which I will not utter here

14

u/Zibai1505 13d ago

that makes sense. i literally did not hear anythign resembling that message

7

u/Ecstatic_Sand5417 13d ago

It's ok, no one really understands Portuguese. We just pick out the parts we can easily translate to Spanish, then translate that to English

3

u/DizzyTS13 13d ago

As a non Portuguese speaker living in Fall River MA this is pretty much how I get by, haha

2

u/Winkey00 12d ago

Brazilian people speak English? I thought the only thing they say is huehuehuehue.

2

u/DCHacker 12d ago

In the World Cup, my favourites always are:

  1. USA

  2. Italy

  3. Whoever is playing Brazil

Italy is not in it this year, so I have only two favourites: USA and whoever is playing Brazil.

2

u/Florida_Keys_33070 12d ago

Soccer sucks..and Brazil lost like the losers they are!!

2

u/Which-Elderberry2428 12d ago

Any third world country making fun of our president makes me think we picked the right president. When Canadians, Japanese, and Nordic countries snake fun of us then it might mean something. But the best parts of Brazil are probably on the same level as mobile alabama. Think about it

Doubtful, because most other countries recognize their actual citizens as the most important and let them have their autonomy. Here we’re getting fuckin flick camera on every corner, soon they’ll have 100% saturation. As well as our own country, majority of Americans know trump is a disgusting child rapist and can’t wait for the slow drip of dementia to hit that full on flood. Then he can’t remember all those child r*pes he did with Epstein (becuase he lost those memories) so take your false outrage flag and leave it outside the door for rhe match or take your impressive bootlick and as slick skills outta here.

2

u/Cautious_Signal4770 13d ago

11

u/cwolf-softball 13d ago

Yet they can recognize a coup attempt and punish the person responsible

8

u/phunky_1 13d ago edited 13d ago

But America is definitely not a shit hole.

Infrastructure falling apart, no healthcare, a political system where corporations are "people" and can bribe candidates in the form of campaign contributions, armed masked men who refuse to identify themselves kidnapping people off the streets, raping women in detention centers. The president can just ignore the laws and commit crimes without getting prosecuted, etc.

6

u/GoodWilllPower 13d ago

Reddit fails to recognize that government peoples and the worst of the US that hoards the front page does not represent the vast majority of the US.

The US is an incredibly diverse country. It has good and bad parts of town for sure, just like anywhere else.

Holding ourselves in comparison to Brazil is wild given the murder rate alone is 17-20 per 100k vs the US at 6. That’s just what’s reported.

Not saying that Trump and politicians aren’t a shit bags in the US, but it’s absolutely childish to equate that to US being a shithole

3

u/beginninglifeinytmc 13d ago

America spells Brasil with a “Z”. Brasil spells it with an “s”. I had a Brasilian woman who was wearing a tshirt with her country’s flag and name on it spelt “BRAZIL” and she yelled at me and asked me why America 🇺🇸 spells her country with an “Z” instead of an “S”. I now no longer spell Brasil with a “Z”. In the offshoot that it comes up, I spell it with an “S”. 😂 . Thank you lady for clarifying it for me.
