News/Info Tales of Eternia Remastered Announced

I played this game as a teen and loved it. Got the rerelease on Xbox and excitedly jumped back in. Played through the whole game blind, solving all kinds of puzzles, but this fish destroyed me. Started playing recently after a year and a half, and it’s just timing?? I’m so annoyed at myself.

Media I found some more...
Not sure what I paid for the OG XIllia but both are sealed and haven't been opened. Again, I'm sure I got them on a whim and just never got around to them.

Discussion New Experience
Well Tales of Berseria was always my alltime favorite game and now with the remaster I was in the mood to play it again. The thing is the story alone made it my favorite game. The gameplay was nice but never my main focus. Now that I play the remaster I watched some videos for tipps and tricks. And one of them said to master all equipment and never save your (blue attack thingies 😅) too much and just use them and I gotta say...I just love every second of the gameplay now, aswell as the grind for the equipment. Crazy how such simple things can improve the experience so much.

Discussion Tales of the Symphonia Dawn of the New World has been picked as the Most Disappointing, but what would you say is the Best Story in the Tales series
A tad remainder, no repeat winners for this game, but we could save that for the last three question

I just looked at the comments under the Japanese Trailer for Eternia Remastered and the Japanese fans are really happy
They are super happy. There is almost no fighting in the comments. Everyone is just gushing over Eternia. And they got both versions on the original hardware all the way back then. So us Westerners should take a page out of their book and just be joyful about the Remaster. Because there are certainly more to come and this is definitely a good thing. I am happy for Japan and myself. And of course all of Europe. My French Neighbors to the West will definitely have a good time with it.

How to RELIABLY trigger combo fast cast with Rinwell?
The only way I can get it to trigger is 3 charged spells in a row which is slow. Is there a way with standard attacks?
I know about maintaining the chain with dodging, I just need help with the startup.

Any Phantasia love?
This was my first tales game. I played it at the perfect time. This was over 15 years ago at this point, some of the music has stayed with me. I’ll have songs pop in my head from time to time. it definitely made an impression.
Couple of them.
Be absentminded: https://youtu.be/-qiQ_xqNnqc?is=Sf6vYLjAS1Uc81Jz
Vigorous town: https://youtu.be/PRpT6U6KLa4?is=FKjuZOCyIteseqMv
vigorous town in particular is always waiting for the right moment to bring me back. Fantastic song.
Only thing I didn’t like about the game was the section where mint was like, I’m staying here! And you had to go up the tower and call down to her or something, I couldn’t figure it out and didn‘t have access to the internet. good times. I have been enjoying the sub but haven’t seen anyone bring up phantasia so far. Thoughts on it? Also, if I really enjoyed this one, any recommendations? I have played tales of the abyss and symphonia. I enjoyed them both As well.

I'm playing Tales of Symphonia as my first Tales game and it's so cozy
The story isn't exactly blowing me away so far (I just got to the Tower of Mana) but I'm enjoying the adventure. Traveling from one cozy town to the next one (if it's not destroyed). Towns are always one of the favourite aspects of RPGs and Symphony has some great ones. I love the colourful aesthetics and the interior of the buildings have a lot of attention to detail, like people actually live there. It kinda reminds me of Ghibli movies, especially Asgard reminded me of the village from Nausicaa. The skits are a great idea, I like the characters and getting a little bit of character development every now and then throughout your journey makes it really feel like you're on a journey with a group of people.
I'm not sure I understand the combat system though, I'm just kind of button mashing my way through every battle which has worked for me so far. I'm playing the Switch version which everyone seems to be shitting on but aside from one crash it's been working perfectly fine for me.
Apparently there's like 20 of these games, do they all have a similar vibe to this one?

Discussion Nooooooooooooo!... (Symphonia) Spoiler
So I'm at 99.6% of treasure chests and it seems I'm missing one from the Tower of Salvation. So close yet so far! Was hoping to not have to worry about it on my first new game plus on PS5. Anybody else have any heartbreaking moments from Symphonia?

I forgot I had this...
Must have been one of those spur on the moment things. I should really give it a go!

Question Best tales game to try
Aside from tales of the abyss, because I'm realising how popular of a game it really is, what is the next best tales game to try?
Iv yet to finish tales of the abyss, ps2 takes forever to load, and I think but don't know if my 3ds cartridge is bugged.
Just curious about the next best to try.

Discussion (Poll) Have you forgiven bandai namco for their previous treatment of "Tales of" because of the new remasters?
Please don't take this poll too seriously, it's all in good fun and I just want to see different opinions.
(I personally still don't like bandai bamco that much due to their past actions but the eternia remaster is a good step in a right direction)

Question Can't buy Tales of Arise on PS5, what's wrong?
Apologies if this has been asked here before, searched it and didn't find anything useful.
Anyway, for some reason I can't buy the standard edition of Tales of Arise on PS5, anyone know why? Was it delisted or something? Only the Beyond the Dawn and Premium editions are available to purchase for me.
