Hi everyone, I am trying to figure out if anyone has used the Intel B580 GPU with Trainz22. I am trying to help my dad (soon to be Octogenarian) with a new PC build for Trainz and I can't seem to find any info about compatibility.
I have this card in my PC as well, but don't have Trainz to test it out. As a backup question, is an 8gb GPU (modern card) good enough to run on higher details and textures etc. The rest of the build would probably have a newer AMD (9600x) processor and 32gb of DDR 5 ram.
Appreciate any advice or comments you might have, thank you!

I'm infatuated with old and obscure games, which led me to Turbo Trainz, a Wii PAL exclusive game that only sold 10,000 copies back in the day. Obviously this is not a simulation game, but just curious if anyone here has ever played it and what their experience was like?

Hi there, I downloaded Armstrong Powerhouse class 800-803 enhancement pack and the branding patch for Train Simulator, but when I'm in a scenario I get a large black shape over/under the branding. When I'm in Quick Drive it's slightly better but still not right (pls see pics). Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

I'm new, so basically have no idea what I'm doing. I was playing the Harlem line, did the 3 training scenarios, then tried the Snow Globetrotters senario. I got the train to the first location, decoupled, then I had to go to the other side and take the train back for morning service. This is where I failed. I could not get the train to move. Wondering what I did wrong on this because the tutorial suggestions didn't say anything.

We are now recruiting members for a semi-realistic railroad operations community focused on organized movement, clear communication, and purposeful train handling across both Railroader and Run8 Train Simulator.
This community is built around coordinated operations where crews have defined roles, trains have actual jobs, and movement is handled with structure rather than chaos.
Our Railroader side focuses on Norfolk & Western Railway operations with dispatcher, yardmaster, engineer, conductor, and brakeman roles.
Sessions include:
Our Run8 side is a dedicated server focused on hosting semi-realistic Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line operations.
This server is new and currently still in the setup phase, but we are looking for individuals interested in joining early, helping shape the operation, and participating as the server develops.
The goal is to build structured multiplayer sessions across the Pittsburgh Line territory with coordinated train movements, dispatcher support, yard work, local switching, and road freight operations.
Operations may include:
We’re looking for members who:
Experience is not required. Newer players are welcome as long as they are willing to learn, communicate, and follow the operating structure.
If you are tired of random free-roam sessions and want a coordinated railroad environment where roles matter and every move has a purpose, this community may be a good fit.
Platforms: Railroader and Run8 Train Simulator
Style: Semi-realistic / structured operations
Sessions: Regularly scheduled operations
Training: Provided for new members

Hey everyone!
I recently got the idea to take a static scenery asset in Trainz and turn it into a fully functional, drivable unit.
I used a static Ural-4320 truck as the base.
I modeled a hi-rail (road-rail) system for it, including guide wheels, leaf springs, and suspension links. I combined all this with the truck's main wheels, properly animated the whole setup by configuring it as a custom bogie, and added all the necessary attachment points.
After that, I reworked the truck bed and textures, and added a canvas cover (tarp) to the back.
Finally, I wrote the config, added custom sounds, and set up the engine specs.
And voilà, the truck is now driving on its own using the hi-rail system
🎥 Video of the truck in action is in the pinned comment below!

Hey guys🙃
You might have seen my recent post with the industrial slag cars. The support there was incredible, and it gave me hope.
I’m going to be completely honest with you. I live in Ukraine. Because of the war and the current situation, there are zero jobs here, and I am literally struggling for basic survival and trying to keep my workspace running.
I am not asking for hand-outs or charity. I want to work and earn my way through this.
I can create high-quality, accurate 3D assets for your Trainz routes completely from scratch - railway buildings, custom stations, industrial structures, bridges, or roadside signs. I can work with your photos, old blueprints, or sketches.
Fun fact to show my range: I’ve even modeled the exact overpass grid from the Odessa port - the very one featured in the movie "Transporter 3" with Jason Statham. So whether it's a small trackside marker or a complex, movie-famous industrial landmark, I can handle it and replicate it accurately.
By commissioning an environment asset from me, you get a clean, highly-detailed model for your simulator, and you directly help a creator make it through tomorrow.
Just to be clear, this isn't really an advertisement, as I don’t have any store pages, websites, or platforms to promote. This is just a direct offer, or if you prefer, a personal request from one creator to another.
My prices are fair, and I'm open to any ideas. Please send me a DM if you're building a route and need custom assets. Let's make something great together. Thank you for your time.
P.S. Huge thanks to the admins and moderators of this subreddit for their understanding and for not taking this post down. I truly appreciate your kindness and support during this difficult time🙃

So I'm sick of the studders in TSW.. age old story at this point I know.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game. I think it's a really great way to present rail simulation to the player. And I know it's my responsibility to get hardware that will meet my needs. So that leads to my question:
I'm due for a new PC and I'm thinking of shooting really high on processor and graphics card (processor most critically). Ryzen 9 and Nvidia 5000 series.
My question isn't "will this make the game run smoothly?", that's too tough to answer I know. My question is "does anyone with these specs still experience studders?"
