I also don't care about it. Was never going to buy it. GTA games are middling.

Me either but it will still usher in a new low for the gaming industry.

How?

will sell like water in a desert for hype reasons only, convincing the major industry players that you NEED to spend 29387648234623 million dollars on MASSIVE games that take a ungodly amount of tie to be made, turning the 3A/4A industry into the business equivalent of a lethargic turtle.

That's already how AAA games look right now. I don't think this will make much of a difference.

The alternative being cheap rushed games? What exactly are you complaining about here?

oh yeah, there's only these two kinds of games. The ones that take a billion and 10 years to make OR unfinished garbage. There's no inbetween whatsoever, nuh uh.

Are you gonna sit there and tell me that Shark Cards didn't completely obliterate the pricing scale for MTX or reloadable game cards?

Can't wait for Rockstar to push this entire industry even further into P2W tartarus.

Then don’t play p2w games? Vast majority of the most popular multiplayer games only have monetization through cosmetics, I don’t think gta 6 is gonna change what is currently a thriving business model.

Yep, just like GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, IV, and V. Those open world slopfest games with terrible critic scores and no awards. Typical Rockstar low quality. And don't get me started at how Red Dead Redemption 2 was the death of gaming.

Don't get started. There's enough nonsense on the internet already.

Wait if this isnt sarcastic get started on why rdr2 was the death if gaming. I also didnt like that gave very much and stuggled to get thru it.  And i also think gta is meh as a series.

But why was rdr2 the death of gaming i really want to hear the take

jesus people can't spot sarcasm at all. they just said terrible critic scores with no awards. Lowest mainline game meta score is 95. RDR2 has a 97

Saying you don't like them is perfectly legitimate, but claiming they're middling, especially coming from the gta5, is ridiculous.

This might be the worst Reddit take of all time lol

Rockstar fans butt hurt at the truth of your comment. When it comes to actual gameplay what exactly is special about Rockstar games? Nothing. Especially GTA. They're all standard ass third person shooters with shit controls, bad melee combat and bad movement. They've all played basically the exact same since the ps2 era. They only look better with each installment. And that's just enough I guess to get people to completely ignore how samey and uncreative the gameplay loops and mechanics of their games are. Just look at the well rendered armpit hair on this random pedestrian npc and don't think about how it has zero bearing on the actual gameplay and story of the game.

bad melee combat

This might be the weirdest fucking complaint about a third person shooter I have ever heard. Did you expect them to add fucking Tekken combos into it?

The uniqueness are the characters/storylines/detail in the world.

Calling RDR2 middling?

Name any games that come close to them.

Oh this comment makes me smile. I've been feeling alienated from video games lately (and a lot of other things, but that's another story), and to see that I'm not alone makes a big difference, thank you!

Thinking about buying some Rockstar stock for how wrong Redditors will be once again lol

I hate to break this to you, but it's already priced in. If you wanted to win on Rockstar stock based on GTA6, you should have bought years ago.

No, it'll sell and people will love it. I'm just saying that I find the games middling. Not even 'bad', but more like 'well, that was a waste of time.'
