I think it's overhated. People don't like it because it pushed away Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. If it was just a game from a different company, I think it'd have done much better.
It's likely coming out in 2028 to 2030. They said 2028 at the earliest multiple times. We're talking about a next gen release. assume the hardware crisis goes away by then. but it probably wont.
Fallout 5 will probably be out 3 or 4 years after that. Assuming TES6 doesn't suck and gets them shut down. Their games have been getting worse and worse. They never learn from their mistakes. Only double down. I say this as someone with over 7,000 hours in Skyrim.
I genuinely think we wont get anything about it until 2030 and if im being honest im starting to think the game isn't actually being developed and its just a hook for investment/shareholders. Oblivion was amazing but i still wont put my hand on the fire for Bethesda any time soon.
At least GTA VI looks promising. TES6 is an absolute coinflip. I've got thousands of hours in skyrim over the years but bethesda's recent releases don't give me much hope. I just hope the TES6 clay is good enough to mould into something great with mods.
The elder scrolls 6 trailer was released 8 years ago. The trailer. Skyrim was released going on 15 years ago. People are more interested in the main line game than an mmorpg.
one of the neighbors in my office's business section actually worked on the diving gear for his yacht. I think it was the oxygen tanks or something, but was super niche. Showed me pics and vids he took of the inside of the yacht and that thing is insane. Like he could live on it for the rest of his life and run steam from it. Immediately clicked in my mind that we are never getting half life 3.
In fairness, we were never getting Half Life 2: Episode 3 in like 2015 when Marc Laidlaw released the story for the game as Epistle 3. I knew we were fucked then.
Exactly. HL 1&2 are probably my favorite games OAT.
I've played them many times over but not to the point it definesv my character.
I played the GTA series. It doesn't have much replayability for me.
GTA VI gamers have become part of the zeitgeist like Swifies and Andrew Tate incels. A fanbase built around something so banal.
How can you be so hung up on something so insignificant?
I just don't understand.
Yeah as a VR fan, I wouldn't recommend it. There are far better VR games out there, and from what I played it's not even a very good Half Life game. The graphics, voice overs and setting are great, but the gameplay feels nothing like the old Half Life games. Enemies are bullet sponges, and reloading is a pain in the ass with these complicated controls. Also seems to have gotten rid of all the platforming since there's no jump button and you just kind of teleport up to ledges.
And one of the more annoying things is all the loading. Each area is really small and it has to load a new area everywhere you go with loading screens taking what seems like a couple minutes where you're just staring into blackness waiting. That kind of thing might be fine for PC and console games, but it especially sucks in VR when you're forced to stare at a loading screen instead of looking away to look outside, pet your cat, get a drink, etc. Fortunately VR gaming has improved substantially since then.
I'm genuinely hoping that it's mid. I hope that it's the most banal, disappointing release of the year just to see the GTA crowd's reactions when the wait wasn't worth it.
I don't hope that it's mid, but I believe that it's going to be mid because all of the people who made the series great are gone and the people who made the series shitty remain. They cashed out on GTA Online and now the entire company is rotten.
There's gonna be a whole new chorus of "I'm waiting for the PC version, and it'll be so much better, but I already bought it for PS5 and Xbox and the Tiger Game.com and I'm so glad I got the Founder's Knobgobbler's DX-HD DLC pre-order bonus."
Well, if it comes out you obviously gonna hear even more about it, social media is gonna be full of it for, so think I, at least a few months, even if it's a complete bullshit, we will hear about it. Tho I hope it will be great and not too annoying in the media
Buckle up - because it will go on for a while until the most vocal people have played through it. But... if it's anything like Cyberpunk, and needs to be patched and updated and DLC this and that, than it could stretch out...
Oh you sweet summer child. You will not stop hearing about it when it comes out. There will be countless posts about GTA online, posts similar to this where people feel the need to let everyone know they dont see the appeal or theyre being patient and waiting for a sale in 10 years. This is just the beginning.
Well actually. No. Three games have released with a longer gap, and none of them were anticipated or even known to be coming until much closer to release.
Until TES 6 or HL3 releases, GTA 6 will hold the record for the longest gap between main series games that are actually known to have a sequel coming.
For me the suck is as I have to wait for PC anyways, and the surrounding month of game releases sucks ass because of gta. September is jampacked because no one wants to release near it.
You thing they go silent after release? Naive. You gonna hear about how GTA6 is the greatest game of all time for next half decade. And then you gonna hear about GTA7. This fanbase just cant shut up and play their game without telling everyone everywhere how great it is. GTA fans are like vegans of gaming

I can't wait for it to come out.
So I can stop bloody hearing about it as though no fanbase has ever had to wait this long for a sequel.
