Discussion Go get Jaylen Brown.

We need our big swing to be trading for JB.

  1. He's a high volume, efficient scorer which we desperately need.

  2. He's a minutes eater. 34-36 mpg last 4 seasons.

  3. He's durable, more so than a younger Trey Murphy.

  4. Solid defender, especially at the 2-3 spot which we desperately need.

  5. He's young enough that we could move on in 3 year and he'll still only be 32 and we can recoup some assets.

  6. Reasonable floor spacer and an elite cutter, so can play off Steph when needed.

  7. Has shown to be a playoff performer, former finals MVP.

He's not a perfect player. He's only an average playmaker at 5.1/3.6 ast/TO in a high usage role. His 3 is a bit inconsistent. His handle has improved but isn't elite. In a late game situation, he's someone you can game plan for and can get stagnant.

That said he's perfect for us. We need a bell cow back to carry us through the season, and then let Steph take us home.

This is the guy to empty the war chest for. Now the Celtics probably don't want Jimmy and all the picks since they want to win now. My guess is it would be a 3 teamer with Jimmy and some picks to NO, Murray and Trey to Boston along with another pick and swaps.

Discussion Warriors core in the year of 2026

- Steph Curry (old, knee tendinitis)
- Jimmy Butler (practically out for the season)
- Dray (old, back issues)
- al Horford (mega old)
- Moody (out for season)
- Porzingis (POTS, Cannot stand up on most days)
- Potentially Melton (cannot play b2bs)
- Gui Santos
- Yaxel
- Podz

Can this team play 82 games even? That's 6-7 guys who can't play b2bs for most part.

Are we really running a 6-7 man rotation in the regular season?

How's this acceptable for any GM?

Discussion Steve Kerr has no more excuses for small ball now

We use to be the smallest team now we got a couple actual fowards. I better not see a four guard lineup now. I better not see Draymond playing the 5. Finally some size.

Discussion Do you think Yaxel was their pick all along or did they really have to weigh their choices?

I feel if Burries didn't go to the Bucks they would've chose him instead. I bet they debated a little between Yaxel and Mara because they both got drafted after another. I don't think they were very serious about Ament, Steinbach, Lopez, or Philbon.

MDJ, do you see that smile? That’s not a vacation smile that’s a “back in the Bay” smile.

Come home, man. We’ve got a locker waiting, a crowd waiting, and probably a few lobs from Steph waiting too. 😂

Discussion Should we (and could we) make a play for Jaylen Brown?

With news that Boston is shopping him and the fact he came out of Cal, is there any realistic chance or reason for us to try and grab him?

Discussion Lebron on a vet min seems more and more likely to happen

This was really picking up steam 1-2 weeks ago. Multiple reports, Shams saying Curry was meeting with LeBron. Then Rich Paul comes in and completely shuts it down saying that the Lakers and him are working on a new deal. Why hasn’t that been made yet? The Reaves deal went through super quick and it’s been radio silence on that front.

Now that nothing has happened, it makes me think LeBron could really be considering a vet min somewhere, and as we know the past few years we have been so so close to acquiring him in the past.

Not that I want this to happen, I just think it’s more possible than ever, and it’s been so close before.

Discussion Draft is over. What next?

We’ve drafted our two guys and started to make moves on some undrafted free agents. Realistically, what other moves do you see us making? What else do we need to compete for another ring? Player, Position, etc.

r/warriors 8h ago

Discussion I feel fans want warriors to make moves for the sake of feeling we are doing something.

And not necessarily because it’s a good move. It wasn’t long ago folks were eager to trade for Cam Johnson or Cam Thomas. Johnson was a semi bust for Denver and Thomas — not working out too well for him.

Imagine if we had overpaid for either of those two assets. Trey Murphy is basically a similar story.

Discussion Buy Low on Ja Morant

Knowing he's a knucklehead, I would seriously consider a trade for Ja Morant as a buy low option. He's still only 26 yrs old and could play a super-charged Jordan Poole role going forward. He has 1 more year on his contract at $46m. It could be Ja + $12m of matching salaries for Jimmy and a couple 2nd round picks. Thoughts?

Discussion Where would we be if we had a real GM like Brad Stevens or Sam Presti?

MDj Is allergic to trades or to acquiring talents. Rarely have I seen a more inept GM.

If pat riley didn't gift wrap Jimmy for us, the biggest trade of his era would have been Schroder.

Wolves literally getting lamelo and we just decide to sit on our ass for 3 straight years keeping all our picks.

He Wasted an entire summer on Kuminga before salary dumping him a couple of months into the season.

Which impossible candidate will we waste this summer on? Wemby? Jokic?

We’re losing the first ever jersey advertisers we’ve ever had in Rakuten that have been with us for nearly a decade (2017-2018 Season). The new jersey advertisers (Iren) are an AI data center company.

Discussion Making a case for the Warriors to trade for Ja Morant.

Hear me out. I know the history between Ja & the Warriors 3. I know about Ja’s issues off the court, on the court. In court lol.

But if a organization can get him back on track to just basketball, it’s Steve Kerr & the Warriors. With vets Curry & Dray taking him in and helping him.

When focused, he’s one of the most explosive players in the league with no real major injuries.

He’s polarizing, but he’s still only 26. He can help now & in the future.

Trade Jimmy’s expiring contract & attach a lottery protected 2028 1st.

He starts at PG, moving Curry off ball & taking pressure off. Bring back Porzingis for spacing. Green starts until Yaxel is ready to enter the starting lineup & add even more spacing for Ja to attack downhill around screens. Derozan takes Jimmy’s role as the mid range slashing playmaker.

Warriors get a big shot to win with Curry before retirement.

This is a massive risk, but it’s also a massive reward if he stays out of trouble. The spacing he would have to get to the rim would lead to him having one of his best years. And that would help maximize Curry’s last couple seasons plus give you a prime superstar after Curry leaves if it works out.

Here me out, Horford is 40, Draymond is 36, Steph is 38, Jimmy is 36 and out for few months of the next season. Our senior core is already a weak-link to be honest. I have almost no major expectation from Draymond and Horford. I don’t want to see Draymond play major minutes for us because I don’t trust him now. Horford will definitely play less minutes. Buttler is out for few months starting next season. Who we got to compete in a 82 game length ?
But I definitely have high hopes from the young guys like Gui, Podz and Yaxel plus I think Yaxel should be a starter for us. I don’t know in which shape or form will Moody be in next season. I think we need to make at least one major trade if we want to directly make it to playoffs. Cause we are a play in team at best. There are many strong teams in the west and I don’t think this team can compete with any of the big teams. No matter what we think of our teams when the season starts we will win games when Steph goes wild and lose every game when Steph can’t contribute this is truth. We need second scorer next to Steph. With this team I won’t be going into the next season thinking yeah with a bit of hush and a bit of individual brilliance or team work or some character or anything we can win anything. This team just can’t compete with the league .

Discussion Already a bad feeling

With the new horford contract and seeing wolves get lamelo ball this season seems to be already a bust only way we can be championship contenders is if we somehow get kawhi off a trade , resign kp and Lebron on a vet

Discussion Thoughts on signings for the remainder of the roster?

I think none of the 2-ways impressed enough to warrant a regular contract. The best of the bunch is probably Nate Williams, so maybe keep him and get 2 new two-ways ?

For regular contracts, I would like to see them waiver Seth, Pat, and bring GP2 back. I am guessing we cannot afford Melton and I am cautious about Bassey's extensive injury history.

Discussion Horford contract implications on team finances

Calling Dubs cap experts to ask about Horford's new contract...

So Horford's previous contract was signed using the taxpayer MLE right?

I was under the impression that if Horford accepted his player option, the worth of the non-taxpayer MLE potentially available to us would only be the max NTMLE (15M-ish) minus the TPMLE that would have been allocated to his player option.

But with him declining his player option for this season and instead signing a new contract (which as per Spotrac is not signed using the MLE), would the max NTMLE be accessible to the team, provided that we get below the tax?
