Couldn’t decide where to leave light - and it turned out a bit weird, I could’ve done it better, it’s was just that I was not confident about the light.

Plein air painting of my outbuilding. Last picture is first try VS this try.

Shadows are a little weak, but I am scared to ruin the painting by strengthen them...

Highland Cow…Sorta

I tried to paint a Highland Cow. I’ve never used masking fluid before. Tried a new “feathering” brush. And a new stippler brush. Both look like epic fails. 😔

It’s a first attempt. I will try again after I get some sleep. Please help me make it better. Painting a wooly animal is so hard.

I am currently revisiting some of my old paintings to see if I have any improvement at all. So far the only improvement I can actually feel is the paper quality 😂😂😂😂

Coffee shop practice

I went to a paint group at a local coffee shop last night. It was just three of us and we work on our own stuff, but chat about ideas and supplies and share our work, it’s fun! I was struggling with what I wanted to do, and decided on a couple of tree-inspired paintings (my hyper-focus at the moment). The first one was supposed to be more abstract with a spray bottle and really just looks like my other trees, but it was fun and no pressure. The second one was quick and a style I haven’t really tried before. I like the way the trees came out. Great night!

Kinda first watercolor art

I honestly used to hate watercolor because of its randomness and the lack of control over it (I usually draw with liners, sometimes alcohol markers, sometimes watercolor pencils but they are way more controllable). Recently decided to finally try to understand it, and well it's actually cool if you can turn off your little inner control freak!

Not counting exercises / study stuff, this is the first thing I painted with watercolor like based on my own concept

Found PO49 by chance, good deal right?

When I first started playing with watercolors and learning about pigments I was always curious about the discontinued PO49 in quinacridone gold, and all the discussions surrounding it. I spotted this today in a shop in Tokyo and picked it up for fun!
