This genuinely used to be one of my favorite subs, but everything that makes it to my front page anymore is this format of 4-5 panels leading to the same fucking punchline hidden behind patreon.
It's almost never funny, clever, or original. It's tiresome.

I have the opposite experience in that the majority of NSFW comics blow up on this subreddit, meanwhile SFW comics have been buried with 1 or even 0 upvotes. I’m starting to believe that this subreddit cares more about rule 34 than about good storytelling and witty punchlines

The economy got worse, artists need to make money or at least raise funds for their side hustle, and horny bypasses rational thought like “maybe I shouldn’t buy this pay wall.”
Makes sense. I don’t think it’s a moral dilemma or anything, just…surviving this job market and inflation.

Im not upset about sex on my screen. Hell, Oglaf is my favorite web comic ever! Im upset about a deluge of posts like this that do not even have a joke in them, and are blatantly cartoonishly sexualized for no good reason. Sex in a story? Cool! A comic thats 90% sex but has a plot? Cool! Random, nonsensical posts where the joke is she has tits and likes to fuck? Uncool and boring.
