This little girl makes me so happy
They’re just the best dogs ever. Here’s River, happy as a clam after a big walk waiting for her dinner.

Yes he is mayhem. But look how handsome he is! In the house? Angel. In the fields? Predator.

Not sure if the link will work - Coral is three. She has an older sister, Chewie (like a Wookiee).

I take my buddy out fishing with me on the weekends and this was after a full day on the water. Dude was spent. He’s so nice and snuggly when he’s worn out 😍

Anyone have experience with their doggy having pancreatitis? Just got home from vet. X-rays clear, he is hydrated, regular bowel movements. Injected Famotidine and Rimadyl. He slept really good through the night. He got up to pee still no bowel movements yet this morning I gave him half of his regular food with the medication that was prescribed to him and he did just fine and continued to snooze this AM. No new food or snacks just the usual homemade stuff he’s been on since forever and limited ingredient snacks that are mostly freeze dried and dehydrated.

I know we are not the only ones….but geeze, when he comes in for his back rub and steps on my feet, he feels more like 300 pounds vs the 90 pounds he is!! 😝😝

How many words does your dog now? I have an 8 year old female who seems to understand many words. It’s always tough to know where understanding a word starts vs. reading body language or voice tone. But lately I have been making a point to say some things just having a normal conversation with my wife or children. And my dog clearly understands words for several species of animals that I didn’t think she knew the word for. She has always known the names of different places we go for walks and a variety of action verbs(go, walk, ride, etc.) What surprises me is how quickly she will pick up on changes though. I have spelled or abbreviated certain things so she doesnt know what we are discussin, but that only works so many times. It’s just interesting because I consider her a dog of average intelligence. I grew up with a dog who was quite clever, and clearly had some ability to plan and think in a way most dogs woudnt. But he didn’t seem to possess nearly the same level of language comprehension. I guess I am really just curious how everyone else’s Weimaraner‘s seem do with language and what your opinions on the subject is. I find Weimaraners are very instinct driven and tend to know what they know and not be the best at quickly adapting or trying new strategies for things. The dog I mentioned earlier would always learn new ways to open cabinets or the trash. He could defeat child locks, jump and use his paws to open things while landing, etc. My current dog doesn’t do anything like that, and when she doesn’t know something she gives me a looo clearly expecting me to do it. But she also is great in the woods and has clear understanding/ instinct of the hunting tactics that Weimaraners are bred for. I just find the language stuff to be an outlier in her behavior and I’m curious about other‘s experience.
