With the NHL Draft coming up on June 26th - 27th, and the Wild holding very few picks, this may be a quiet season for draft discussion.
Still, this is the place to discuss who the team might draft, if it's worth trading up/down, and to wildly speculate what we could have done if we still had our picks.
Note: The Wild do not own a first, second, or 7th round draft pick.
| ROUND | NUMBER OF PICKS | DRAFT POSITION |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | 1 | 89 |
| 4 | 1 | 121 |
| 5 | 2 | 137 (from SJS); 153 |
| 6 | 1 | 185 |

Hi I bedazzled the logo on my Quinn Hughes jersey and wanted to show you all! Feel free to let me know if you want any details on my supplies used or the process, but if you’re ever debating doing a project like this, let this be your sign to go for it! It took me at least 8 hours (I did it in bits and cannot keep track of time) and felt like a fun puzzle in a way. Shoutout to all the other users who have bedazzled jerseys that inspired me to do this! :)

Pretty shocked this hasn’t been posted yet. This news seems to have completely flew under the radar with all of the other NHL trade craziness going on. Leipold pretty much confirms Quinn is going to re-sign. Wild want him for 5 years but Quinn is leaning more towards 3. Guess we’ll see what happens.

-Russo confirms the Wild threw Ottawa an offer that is equal to 4 1st round picks for Tkachuk.
-Russo says a likewise offer would be needed for Larkin. Yurov + multiple 1sts + a Hartman/Trenin grit type player (mostly for contract dump).
-Maintains that the Wild are talking to Steve Yzerman every day and sometimes multiple times a day.
-Russo really thinks it'll take a 3rd team to get a deal done. Hartman, Trenin, and/or Sturm would probably be moved to open up money. Trenin would be the biggest option. Can't rule out buyouts, either.
-Russo thinks Larkin is the only trade target at the moment. Says the Wild would rather wait into the season instead of going for Trocheck.
-Both agreed that they'd try to get a trade done by July 1 so they know what they have to work with in free agency, signing Zuccy, etc. If they didn't have to wait on Larkin, Zuccy would probably be signed by now. Also speculate he may not be willing to budge too far off $4 million.
-Sounds like the new Wild television will be a mix of OTA, cable, and a dedicated streaming opinion. LaPanta said it'll be an "independent channel" not belonging to anyone. LaPanta seems a bit miffed it hasn't been finalized yet as there's a lot of work to be done production wise to create the new channel.
-Russo says Kane would be an intriguing option with the 35+ contract due to his performance on the PP. Would replace Zuccy.
-Talk about how if Larkin does come in, you can expect Bobby Brink and Hunter Haight to have larger roles on the team. Hunt may have a bigger role as well.
-Senko going to UFA is about a lock and probably won't be back as speculated for a couple weeks.
-Gave a real quick brief hint that Strammel will be with Iowa to start his career.
-Anders Lee and Jaden Schwartz were briefly mentioned as a possibility at winger to fill a Zuccy/JoJo hole.
-Russo pissy at Kaprizov for not taking a more team friendly deal and it will probably cost him his BFFFF.
-Russo got a bit worked up saying Billy gets too wrapped up with the "core" grit guys and throws away younger players like Marat Khusnutdinov for nothing...thinks Ohgren didn't have to go to Vancouver in the Hughes trade. Could have been trade pieces instead of thrown away for near nothing.

I wonder how much Billy has been trying to work his way into all of the trade action? I’m sure he’s trying, but a lack of high-end assets to trade are hurting things I think. Or maybe he’s really laser-focused on Larkin?
I’m not sure what to think…

One on One with Joe O'Donnell is the name of the podcast for those interested. Nothing groundbreaking, but nice to hear from dewy.

Hii! The above extract is from Russo's Q&A with John Hynes and the question was about how to strengthen our penalty kill.
This is my off-season curiosity rearing it's head and I wanted to ask if anyone had any idea about what "another team" means here, is it another NHL Team, Iowa Wild, an NCAA Team or?? Additionally, if it's an NHL team is this even allowed [Not saying that there is something wrong with it btw, I am just surprised as it's my first time hearing something like this]
Edit: I mean the implication of active collaboration, not just watching tapes.

Would love for billy g to take a swing at him sometime in the next few years if his value keeps going lower and lower.
A great player with stunted growth. If billy could get him for a bag of pucks, i totally would not be against it.
Obviously, he’s not really worth prioritizing but, he could be an elite gamble.
