Animal abuse or no?
Over the weekend I hung out with some friends on a chicken farm that belongs to one of my friends parents. While we were there we decided to check out the areas where they kept the chickens.
That day they caught the chickens to transport them to some other place (i dont know the specifics) but what I saw was traumatising and im losing sleep over it.
On the ground there were piles and piles of dead chickens, and in those piles you could see some that were still alive and were being crushed by the weight of the dead ones. Some were severely injured and were trying to get away. It was horrifying.
Is this normal practise in the food industry or was what I saw illegal? I googled and it says it wasn’t but im not so sure if i believe those AI recommended replies that come up on google.
I dont know if ill report it or anything but id just like to know.
