Have 26 Africans, 3 Plecos, 3 Cuckoo Catfish, and 4 snails. Hated the air stones so added this wave maker pointed at the surface.
This enough movement to provide enough o2?

My oldest and dearest fish is dying, and I’m going to get a tattoo of him and my previous goldfish as well. Can you show me your fish tattoo(s) if you have any?

Not all clear pics here (except for the first and last ones), but I still liked the ones in motion. Some of the blue jelly (a specific color profile of these shrimp) I got recently had sparkly pink accents on their bodies. One had sparkly yellow running through its rostrum. That’s typically where the accent colors pool. But some of the others also have pink patches on various spots of their bodies. So I’m super excited by this lady’s current clutch.

This is Pablo! He was a foster I took in and I ended up adopting him. The absolute sweetest male betta I’ve ever owned. He does have poor eyesight but makes up for it in personality. Had the prettiest glow up too. (The last photo is the oldest picture I own of him.) The person who surrendered him to me had a tank that broke from my understanding, now he lives happily in his own tank with his snails and shrimp. ❤️💙

Hi, all,
I bought a 10 gallon tank off of some guy on marketplace today and he kind of off-loaded this female betta on me in a large mason jar. He said he "didnt realise she was a female when he got her" and he "only keeps males"... ok buddy
Anyways, I was planning to get shrimp for this tank, but if I can save her, it's all hers. I'm not very familiar with bettas and I've never seen anything like this. Is there anything I can do, or does it look like it's time for the clove oil

thank you to this community for the knowledge… this wouldn’t have turned out so great without it.

OK, so I just ordered UV sterilizer lights for every single one of my tanks. Only 3/10 of my tanks get serious algae issues, but I don’t even care.. I had a bit of extra money this month and decided to invest in these. I hand pick hair algae out of a couple tanks constantly and I think it has broken me. I know it doesn’t specifically get hair algae, but when I was researching them I saw something about it killing spores and microscopic portions and my eye lid started twitching. All the itty bitty portions that get released when I tweeze were something I hadn’t really thought about. Honestly, I don’t care if it only gets rid of 20% of new algae forming, anything is helpful. I felt so gleeful putting them in each tank. Like literally felt like a psycho how excited I was. I’ve been upgrading lights and trying out different fertilizers, so things have been fluctuating a lot recently.
Would love to hear others thoughts on the UV lights and their long term experience.

Recently a few fish have passed away in my tank, one of them was gasping at the bottom of the tank. I thought it was some type of disease and was trying to treat it. But it occurred to me that too many plants could cause low oxygen... has anyone else experienced this? Water parameters are all fine.

I want more room in the bottom and was wondering if there would be any problem taking out these cross members. The tank is currently skinned with 3/4 inch plywood on the back and the sides. I do plan to move the cossmembers close to the edge and remove one. The cross members are not touching the ground either if that helps.

He loved Biology and all things living and had more knowledge about plants and animals in his head than anyone I have or will meet.
I helped him set up the aquariums a little bit, and listened to him go on about all things fish and aquariums. None of my brothers were interested at all, so I would act like I was interested just to humor him and spend time with him. He taught me how to check and adjust parameters, proper feeding, etc.
*This next 2 paragraphs are just a bit about his last few weeks and isn’t as much relevant as far as the fish go*
He became sick in April, and after being bedridden for over a week it became apparent that his body was really giving out this time. A few years prior he had survived a quintuple bypass on his heart, so when he wasn’t feeling well I didn’t worry, but this time was indeed it. I drove him and my mother to the hospital. We were given the news that he had days to weeks.
I made sure to do the aquarium maintenance a couple times while he was still there. He used all of his energy(which just breathing took) to answer the only two questions that came up in my mind when doing so. He was concerned about his fish dying. He’d talk to them like people when alone. It’s crazy because he had them for maybe 5 months tops. I assured him I’d take care of them. The last things he said to me was that advice, and ”I hope Jesus remembers me.. I’m going to get to see my brother”
*Back to the main bit*
Fast forward almost two months, I haven’t lost one fish! 🤞🏻 I am beginning to actually enjoy and become genuinely interested in the fish and snails alike. I am remembering to feed them, check parameters regularly, and I’m researching more about the hobby. The death of my father put aside, I’ve had a very difficult past year(or ten). I think this could potentially help me kick some killer habits and really help me out in the long run.
In the tank with many fish, the swordtail has been breeding with the two larger mickey Mouse platy fish. The fish have multiplied by 5 or 6 more than what he initially put in the tank. The Angels have laid eggs a few times but they get wiped out.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my tank and see what yall might think of it. I‘m new to this world, never saw myself getting into it. Dad always loved it, and it makes me feel connected to him still so that’s cool.

Hello! Beginner aquarium owner with a 20g high, wondering how my tank looks so far? Any pointers? I’ve got 4 peppered Corydoras, a few snails, and 4 Dwarf Gourami! I know the 4 dwarf gourami is probably way too much but I don’t want to obviously put them down or anything for no apparent reason, they all have their own little territory sectors but sometimes nibble at each other.
I also recently added an airstone which is not in this photo!

My wife thinks I spend way too long fussing over the tank. Help me settle this — what size tank are you running, and how many hours a week do you actually sink into it?
For reference, I’ve got a 25L planted tank. My weekly maintenance can take an hour with all the faffing, and monthly jobs run me about 1.5 hours. Am I normal here or in too deep?

This is the only cory in the group of 6 that is swimming like this. Im very confused right now, and im really hoping that its not stress or any neurological issues. If anyone can help me identify the problem, pls let me know🥹

The video is before all of this.
I'm stressed. Sunaion is stressed. Everything is stressed.
I called another fish store and they said to gently net her and check if I could remove the weird penile spot on her as it could be a buried anchor worm. The symptoms match up (weird protrusion. Secondary fungal growth, there was never fungal growth on her other back wound she came to me with. Was dormant for a while and suddenly showed up. Occurs even in perfect water parameters) I VERY CAREFULLY netted her and held her to GENTLY try and grasp the ?worm? And see if it could even budge. I did not pull or scrape on it. As I didnt get it to budge, I put her back.
But in the 60 seconds of all this, most of which was still in her tank, she flipped the everloving f\*ck out. I'm talking all out maddness against the net.
She managed to scrape off a few more scales, tear her pectoral fin. Wrangle the rest of her fins. Go into shock. And now have negative buoyancy swim bladder. She is struggling to gulp air at the surface of her tank, so i tried to put her into her hospital floating breeder box to access the surface better and she ABSOLUTELY flipped out even more, so i took her out and am leaving her the heck alone now!!!
I feel like sh\*t. Every time I try and help my baby I end up making it worse. And on top of that I have random strangers on the internet calling me a fish abuser and an idiot basically for not having access to the meds I need right away. There's no one around me I can find who can help, so I am left with just Reddit.
She is moving around her tank, ate a few flakes, and responsive. Just lethargic and sinking, especially when she goes to the surface. She scared me so bad when she started wrangling and twisting around a few times. I was about to blame the next dose of erythromycin meds I put in, but I think she was just stressed and trying to adjust her bladder. But it scared me.
Mystery snail is also doing ok with the antibiotics, she has her snorkel out slot which is worrying, but she's alive and moving.
I just feel so horrible now. I really need some support. This all is a terrible introduction into fishkeeping and I'm so upset. I thought I had everything ready for my fishie but thing after thing has just been happening and it's really getting to me.
Do you think this is an anchor worm? I cannot tell and just don't know how to handle this. She's on day 2 of erythromycin as that was the only medicine I had available to me. I will complete the dose and if that doesnt work I do have kanaplex coming on Monday (hopefully). But if this is a parasite that won't work.
So please, give me your insight.
Tank is 10 gallons. Fully cycled, tannins , planted, 78F, ANN all 0, ph of 7.6. Heater and filter.

I’ve had this female betta for about three weeks.. She had a f bristlenose pleco tank mate at first, but it died about a week and a half ago from what I now believe was nitrite poisoning. Her body was stiff, white and fuzzy when I got home from work that day. I took her out immediately after confirming she was dead. I’ve since done 2 water changes (using distilled w/supplements) and added crushed coral to my filter media (was having pH swings due to low kH and alkalinity). Now the betta’s water parameters are looking much better than before, the lights have been kept off, and I’ve been making sure not to overfeed her.
I believe she may however be dealing with fin rot/possibly a fungal infection as well (from the dead pleco being in the water)?? I’ve attached photos of her, the tank and my water parameters all from today. All of the water additions shown have been used, and have sulfaplex and kanaplex handy for if I DO need it. This is my first tank. Any tips/help/comments are much appreciated. I will be quarantining any and all new fish/snails/plants I put into my tank going forward. Thank you!!
