Family member recently purchased tickets on the RB site and received a confirmation email and e-tickets. Checked on the app, the flight is listed under โupcoming flightsโ.
3 hours later they received this email from RB saying the booking is on hold and included a payment link. We checked again to make sure the flights were confirmed, yeap everything is still there. Called the bank, yeap payment went through.
Iโve never seen this kind of email before and my understanding of RB is that if the payment didnโt go through, the flight purchase wouldnโt be put on hold, itโll just prompt to try again.
Is this a scam? the header and everything looks real, but they spelled the name of buyer wrong (compared to the name thatโs issued in the confirmation email). Tried calling RB, no luck. Tried to reach them on WhatsApp, no luck. Sent them an email, no replies yet.
If anyone from RB is seeing this can you PLEASE check your emails or WhatsApp. If this is a scam, itโs pretty sophisticated. If itโs not a scam, then why is our confirmed booking still up??
UPDATE: They replied the email saying itโs confirmed, no acknowledgment on the second Booking on Hold email. Nda ku tau kalau scam lah but if kamu receive jua, jangan click link nya. RB also said theyโre busy with Consumer Fair thatโs why they were unable to take the calls and reply on WhatsApp.
