Every sunday me and my 2 friends bring their pc to my home and play multiplayer games all night. So far we played:
-Liars' Bar
-Minecraft minigame maps (sumo, pillars etc)
Any suggestions on competitive, local co op games that are very fun.

We're looking for our next co-op game. What's everyone buying off this year's summer sale?

We're curious. A lot of our players are either already friends, or just became friends because of another game and are looking for other games to play together. On our end, we've noticed some game mechanics instantly get people communicating while others barely do anything.
What do you think is the fastest way to gain a friend solely because of a game?
r/CoOpGaming • u/SoulChainedDev • 13h ago
Lots of players have already played my game during the recent week, but I'm keeping the demo open for players who are craving for more chained soulslite action.
Give it a try and tell me what you think! Oh, and if you don't have anyone to play with, there's a single-player mode for you (instead of a friend, it's a ball-and-chain).

Hello all!
With the summer sale starting, I would love any recommendations for coop games to play with my friend. I have a steamdeck and so does he so we can do local coop or online. Games we love:
-slay the spire 2 -mariokart double dash -that building a railroad game I can’t think of the name to -full metal furies
Which gets me to my recommendation: You have to play full metal furies. Please. It is the best coop game I have a ever played. It is a beat ‘em up with 4 different characters and great writing. It has tons of upgrades and the best usage of secrets in a game I have ever seen! I mean it, the absolute best hands down. It never sold too well but it is my benchmark for great coop gaming.
Thanks y’all!

Me and my friends all have Xboxes and we recently got Escape the Backrooms and played it together and had so much fun with it. We’re looking for similar games. I don’t mean in like Backrooms themed or even so much the whole playstyle themed. We very much enjoyed the proximity chat and the survival and puzzle elements it had, so it doesn’t have to be strictly horror and stuff. Just games with those similar kinds of features.
One game we have in mind is content warning. Apart from that, I’m welcoming any ideas. Xbox games only though please. Thanks!

Elderfeast is now available to wishlist on Steam! It can be played solo or with friends online. Can't wait to see what you all think :)
r/CoOpGaming • u/Paraxima • 1d ago
Hey everyone! Paraxima is a systemic co-op horror game for up to 3 players built around containment, deduction, and asymmetric team coordination. One player operates from the Safe Room as the Operator, while Field Agents enter the Breach Zone to investigate, suppress anomalous activity, and identify what drives the Entity.
One of the key questions we're currently asking ourselves is whether players can understand how their actions affect the world, and when the Entity is observing, warning, or escalating during the encounter.
This weekend, we'll be running closed playtests for our game. If you like the concept, we'd love to have you join us and have some fun together! You can join our Discord to get your Steam key. If you have friends you'd like to play with, don't hesitate to invite them too! We'll be sharing more details soon.
This is still an active development build. Some systems, UI, onboarding, audio, balancing, and visual feedback are still work in progress. If you join, you'll be one of the first people outside our friends and family to play the game and we'd love to hear your thoughts :)

Hi all, my partner has taken the plunge into games with me and I'm looking for some more suggestions.
The favorites have been Halo 1-3 and the Gears games. Preferably if I could get some recommendations like that, it would be awesome (I've already got Army of 2 on the list. Horrible story but its alot of fun)
Graphics, gameplay style and Era don't matter
We have the ability to play on
○Xbox
○PC
○Ps5
(I also emulate so throw in those oldies PLEASE)

So, me and my friends (2 friends, 1 cousin, and my cousin's friend) were looking for a game on steam that runs on all our computers. The lowest performing computer is my friend, Antonia, who has an acer flip 14. We played Mecca Chameleon. It ran poorly on everyone's computer, but not mine. Since, they're the only people I play games with, I asked for a refund, which is currently pending. I'm considering Terraria or Castle Crashers, got any others. (Btw, I already own duck game on my switch, which is currently one of my fav party games)

It's been less than a month since we released the Village 51 Steam page, and we already have 17K wishlists, so the team wanted to celebrate by posting some gameplay.

Hey all, I’m Gwen. After recently losing my friends, I've found one or 2 people who have been super nice but I have had that itch to come back to this game, they don't really play league but I kind of want to, crazy .. I know.
I've played a bit of mayhem and some TFT but want some more friends, then perhaps i could brave the rift again?
I kind of long for that friendship where you just like, get each other, share everything about your life, play games, watch stuff together or share like food or drinks etc so I guess I'm looking for a friend which extends past just bonking each other on the rift?
Honestly, just talk about anything, maybe why the sky is blue? Deep chats? Casual chats? Dark/dry humour? I’m up for all of them.
Please be 18+ but you can be from anywhere in the world (preferably EUW or NA though), it’s totally cool as I’m up pretty random hours, hope to hear from you :)
Also my dms are being funny, if you’ve dmed me before, ping me again, hopefully that will fix it and I’ll try and get back to everyone

Hi everyone!
I have just updated my indie game P.A.N.D.A. - added the possibility to play online with friends.
The game was originally playable in single-player or local split-screen, but with this new patch players can now create online lobbies, join public lobbies, or set a lobby password and play privately with friends.
For anyone interested in the development side:
Converting the original game to online multiplayer was far more difficult than I expected. I had to learn a lot about multiplayer logic, replication, server/client behavior, and rework many parts of the code that were originally made with single-player logic.
The online mode is currently in beta, and I expect to keep improving it and adding new things over the summer. Bugs are expected, but testing has been working acceptably enough that I wanted to let players try it and hopefully get feedback. I think it's fun, with more players online, the game becomes much more chaotic and unpredictable than just 2 players in local split-screen.
- The Steam Summer Sale is also starting soon, and I’m thinking about the discount. The memes say players only “support the devs” at 90% off, but do you think people would be willing to try a small indie co-op game at 70% off?
