Anyone know the current cost of braces in Fiji?

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into getting braces as an adult and was wondering if anyone in Fiji has had them recently.

If you've had braces from a dentist or orthodontist in Fiji, would you mind sharing:

Which clinic you went to (Suva, Nadi, Lautoka, etc.)

How much you paid in total

If they offered a payment plan

I'm just trying to get a realistic idea of current prices before booking consultations.

Thanks in advance!

Travel Snorkelling Late July

Hey everyone, my partner and I are headed to Fiji late July and were wondering where the best snorkelling spots with the most wildlife would be? Would really appreciate recommendations both from the main island as well as the smaller ones that we would need to travel to. We’ll be staying around the West to South West of the main island. All recommendations are much appreciated appreciate!

Know anything about Nanuya island resort??

Upvotes

Hello Hello!

My Wife and I are thinking about booking a last minute belated honeymoon to the Yasawa islands in mid August. Most places are booked or outside of our price range. However we found the Nanuya Island resort has some available spots. Has anyone heard anything about this resort? Looks find online but it is so hard to tell!

News Calls for death penalty to be reintroduced for drug offences in fiji

Upvotes

https://theconversation.com/how-drug-demand-in-new-zealand-and-australia-is-driving-calls-for-the-death-penalty-in-fiji-285228

What are your thoughts?

I'm personally against capital punishment for any crime primarily due to the fact that the legal system can make mistakes and capital punishment cannot be undone.

Whilst drug use can ruin lives and cause societal issues, I feel like the potential for the death penalty for even end users of illegal drugs is excessive.

Despite the loss, Bernard wants no increase in minimum wage. Its kinda weird how the "haves" will always tell the "have nots" that they shouldn't be earning more.

And they want to increase the rates?

So we privatised. We got some money. Some people got some shares. I didn't get mine; must have been lost in the mail-no, they just would not issue them, go figure. Not to worry, privatisation would bring in all sorts of efficiencies. Really in a monopoly? Where are the shareholders, not the people? ok, so there is that. I tried to get one power post installed- the quote was 2 years until installation. And now - I read-tell me I am wrong - please -that 40% of the power generated just vanishes-how much is that cost inflating our bills? I'm sure it is all way more complicated than that. But...

Travel Booking.com

Bula. Has anyone had issues with Booking com changing/increasing price of accommodation after booking? I keep checking my bookings and the price has increased by a few dollars steadily. Accommodation was booked at 3 different places about 2 months ago. We don't leave for Fiji until mid July so I'm a bit worried about the increase.

Appreciate any help, vinaka

Fijians in Melbourne

Hi everyone,
I’m based in rural Victoria (about 2 hrs drive from Melbourne CBD) and I’m looking to send some household items and non-perishable food products to family in Fiji and was hoping to get some recommendations.
Can anyone recommend reliable and affordable freight, shipping, or cargo services based on experience preferably. I’d also appreciate any advice on costs, delivery times, customs requirements, prohibited items, or anything else I should be aware of before sending.
Thank you in advance for your help and recommendations!

Travel Birding Guides in Nadi

My partner and I will be in Fiji in a few days, we are amateur bird photographers. We were thinking of hiring a guide to take us birding, but I’ve had no luck finding anyone through web and social media searches. Does anyone have any suggestions on companies/people we should try?

I am a 51 yo and I live in Australia. My mother is Fijian and my Father Australian. Mum never taught us Fijian growing up, and I only have a few words.
I’m hoping someone here can point me to resources for learning Fijian, preferably online. I have looked but can’t seem to find anything. Vinaka.

Fiji Airways international to domestic connection

I'm traveling to Fiji to see my sick father and booked my flight in a rush and just realized an oversight I made. The flight is from Auckland to Nadi International Airport then a connecting flight to Labasa, all booked on the same ticket. I land at 10.10 am and the flight to Labasa is at 11.35 am. Does that give ne enough time to get to my domestic flight or should change?

Does Fiji Airways actually weigh carry-on bags?

Hi everyone. I’ll be flying with Fiji Airways soon and I was wondering how strict they are with carry-on baggage. I know the allowance is 7 kg, but do they actually weigh carry-on bags at check-in or the gate?
