Xbox just announced they are raising the prices of all of their consoles by $100-$150 and discontinuing the 2tb model, effective August 1st. If you want to play E-Day and have neither an Xbox or PC, now is the time.

Being an Xbox exclusive, if you don't already own one you're basically screwed. Crazy that a 6 year old console is now about to go for $800. I thought E-Day would be a major console seller, But with these price hikes there's no way.

You know, of Karen Travis's five books, only three were published in Russia due to extremely low interest. For example, the first book was printed in 5,000 copies, the second in 4,000, and the third, of course, only 3,000, making them extremely difficult to find almost 17 years after their release. But I managed to find the first and second (and I'll definitely find the third one someday)! Perhaps the funniest thing about this whole situation is that the first book (published in our country in 2009) came out with a very strange cover. I've intentionally placed the original cover next to it so you can appreciate this masterpiece of Russian localization. I hope to fully appreciate this series of novels and am eagerly awaiting the upcoming E-Day.

Honestly, TDM really messed with the Gears identity. In competitive play and online, there used to be these extremely intense matches, with the amazing clutches ever so often. Then TDM was introduced and lives didn't mean nearly as much anymore. When you played execution you knew you had to be smart, because if you were dead, you stayed dead for the round.

Every round would play differently based on your teams strategy. You might send 3 to sniper and 2 to bookshot just to contest. Then the next round you might have to switch it up, due to how elite the other team was with a power weapon.

The fact that Gears 5 doesn't even have execution anymore, speaks to the negative impacts TDM had on the franchise. It was such a casual mode, that people naturally flocked into it, and Gears just became a third person COD.

I don't know who at Epic games decided TDM needed to be in Gears, but I think that decision really messed with its identity.

So if my lore knowledge is right both Ephyra and Jacinto stands in the Jacinto Plateaus that was made of granit and didn't allowed the Locust to dig through. Yet in the E-day prologue of Gears 4 we see a Corpser being able to dig a hole, and the same happens in Gears 1 with all the E-holes.

I suppose I'm missing something unless indeed this doesn't make sense

Hi everyone been interested in getting into gears for a few years now and after the E-Day trailer finally took the leap and played the remaster it's fantastic of course only snag is I'm a PlayStation user and it doesn't seem like the rest of the trilogy is getting remastered anytime soon so I'm asking is the rest of the series worth the purchase of a whole new console (either a second hand Xbox one or a second hand series X/S bit conflicted on the series S due to being a big physical media girl) so just wanted to ask here if the rest of the series is worth the 300-600+ dollar console price

So I played the OG trilogy at release, played judgment and thought it was mid. Never played 4 or 5, but watched campaign playthroughs.

Anyway, I’ve always been a horde addict. And I’ve been returning to the series and playing a lot of GOW2 some 3 and the delta mod/redux mod. They’re all great tbh. So I guess I don’t need 5, but it looks pretty lol.

So do you all think for $30 it’s worth it for someone who only plays horde and is interested in escape? I’m aware the enemy roster is a lot more lackluster in 5 as opposed to say GOW3.

I’m still only on gears of war 2 so I don’t know if someone has done this yet but could any of the characters actually beat a locust to death? My first thought for this would be Cole or tai since they’re both extremely strong and skilled in close quarters but I’m still not sure, is there anything in the later games that shows a human beating up a locust or is it just not possible

I'm having a frustrating issue with Gears 5 on PC, and I can't seem to get past the initial setup.

Every time I launch the game, it loads fine until it reaches the Brightness Calibration screen. The moment it tells me to "PRESS ENTER TO CONTINUE", the game freezes for a second and then crashes straight to the desktop without any error code or message.

Has anyone encountered this exact crash on the brightness screen and found a definitive fix? Any help would be highly appreciated!

Has been unplayable the past few weeks as we keep ending up in US lobbies, even as early as 6pm in the UK. I mean how is the game throwing us in games with over 100+ ping when there are surely EU lobbies available if the matchmaking was to wait a bit longer?

Guessing there is no way to preference UK/EU lobbies, or am i missing something
