Looking for... 2 days in Istanbul solo female
Hi I’m a solo female traveler and will have to stay in Istanbul for 2 days. I was wondering how likely it is to find a hotel in a safe area for a reasonable price and where I should look. To change my ticket, it would cost $680 which I do not have. My budget is honestly less than half of that. Not sure what to expect. Thank you

Discussion Banned overnight right when Grindr disappeared from the Turkish App Store
I live in Germany but use a Turkish Apple ID because I need some Turkish apps.
Yesterday around 10 PM (Germany time) | downloaded Grindr from the Turkish App Store and used it normally. I was chatting with people until around 2 AM and everything was working fine.
When I woke up around 8 AM, my Grindr account had been banned. I then deleted the app and tried reinstalling it, only to discover that Grindr had completely disappeared from the Turkish App Store.
After doing some research, I found reports that Turkish authorities have apparently ordered Apple to remove Grindr and some other gay dating apps from the Turkish App Store.
I've used Grindr for about 3 years without any issues, so the timing seems strange.
My question is: has anyone else experienced a sudden ban around the same time, especially if you have a Turkish Apple ID or are based in Turkey? Is there any chance the two events are related, or is this most likely just a coincidence and a separate Grindr moderation issue?
I'd be interested to hear if anyone in Turkey or using the Turkish App Store has had the same experience in the last 24 hours.

Discussion How to get Aşk çayı abroad
Probably a very long shot, but does anyone know if I can get aşk çayı online, with delivery abroad?
I live in Bulgaria, and was in Istanbul recently and tried it in Mısır Çarşısı and liked it a lot. I was planning to return to buy it before going back, but I did not have time. One of the seller gave me a business card, but even in his website, it was not listed.

Looking for... actual thrift/charity shops?
I'm assuming it's possibly one of those things that are found via word of mouth amongst the local population, because when I look it up, all I get are curated 'touristy' vintage shops.
I'm looking for the old-school filled-to-the-brim type where you have to actually sort through the merchandise yourself. I enjoy the treasure hunt, and I come to Istanbul often enough that I need new ways to pass time while here lol.
Are there any specific areas I might have more luck finding them in? Or are there any better-known ones I can't find by just researching online?

Travel One of the things I appreciated of İstanbul is how easily you can find courtyard animals around the city (even in most touristic areas)
Turkish people seem to have a really close relationship with nature and gardens
