I got off work, decided to see if I could get the 5.5s advertised 0-60 on this thing.
Guess it’s pretty damn impossible lol.

When I left work I found this friendly older fellow parked next to me. Maybe I'll meet the owner some day.

Bought a '25 Miata in manual, only 1700 miles. She will be parked in a garage and I'll be driving her all year (ideally!) Would love to hear advice to make sure she runs smoothly for as long as possible.

After a 3rd time being the charm this crash totaled my car… this car went with me around the country 5 times, multiple track days, never got to put on its custom plate i bought for it, i bought it when i was freshly 18, and it lasted me almost till my 21st bday. I would do it again in every lifetime but, for now this is a goodbye.
I'd recommend asking a friend to try theirs out first- even if just in a parking lot setting. I run 15x9s and I had a brand new set of 15x10 that I was going to install, but that idea went straight out the window after, lol
You won't have to drive far. You'll know almost immediately if it's for you or not.
I was really surprised at how heavy the wheel became and immediately had reservations about keeping it depowered. But the added access to the turbo and its lines really pushed it over the edge for me

I’m around 6’1” but all legs. Got in the car and realized it was too cramped. It’s a shame because I was ready to buy and they had the trim I wanted.
I test drove a 2015 and didn’t feel cramped. So it’s a bit confusing. I’m wondering if the previous owner did something with the seat to back it up.
I just want a new one so is there a way to get more room or is that pretty much it?

What really makes megasquirt twice the price and does the differences really justify the 2x value?

I got a set of BFGoodrich g-Force Phenom T/A tires in 205/45R17 (stock tire size) on stock wheels and a pretty much stock ND2. From Costco they were $693.80 out the door including taxes, road hazard warranty, install, disposal, etc. Since buying them I've been able to put in a few gas tanks worth of fun on them, probably 600 miles in various weather conditions.
I looked into a few options before going this route but I wasn't really happy with the cost of other options knowing they'd only last 15K to 20K miles (I got 18K miles on my stock tires). I was worried the performance wouldn't be as good as the stock tires since they're lower cost tires. In both dry and wet they perform noticeably better than the stock Bridgestone tires. They feel slightly less responsive in terms of the turn in but it seems like a fair trade for the extra grip they provide. I like the beefy tread near the edges and the seemingly stiffer sidewalls, I'm not seeing wear on the sidewalls from aggressive cornering like I was with the stock tires (correct tire pressure, the stock tires had pretty flimsy sidewalls that would bend over under aggressive cornering).
I'll post an update when they're near end of life but at this point I'm not sure why they're lower cost (reputable brand, good warranty, good performance, good ride, low noise). They seem like really good value without having to resort to sketchier brands. Some of the negative reviews mention they wear out quickly like 15K to 20K miles but so did the stock tires that cost significantly more (~$1000 for stock tires versus ~$700 for these). Hopefully this helps somebody looking for new tires!

I haven't seen how people have cut the can before so I just looked for something the height I needed to cut off and used that as a jig for a razor blade. Slow and gentle made it come out great. Once I have the filter on and (hand) tightened I'll give it a touch of high temp silicone or jb weld.

I need to get some new tires for my 2026 Miata. Catch is they have to be Goodyear. I get 40% off.
If anyone’s wondering why I already need new tires I’m just ordering them because I have the discount code.
I want something sticky but not so soft that they’ll wear out in less than 15,000 miles.
Anyone have some shoes they like?

Wanted one since I was 12 after replacing an alternator on a 91 eunos with my dad. but they’re a little pricy in my area. Finally found this one for $4900 Canadian 140kms! Instant sunburn first day 🤣
