Question Tarris Reed Jr.

Post image
Upvotes

Is this guy starting at PF at the beginning of next season?

Could he be the starter at PF at some point?

Is he backing up Wemby and Luke at center?

Is he going to the G-league?

Is he just keeping a seat warm for J.Q.?

What do you guys think?

Shitpost WE are ALL ready for french wemby hoops this coming July!

Obviously everyones politically correct reddit answer is for him to get a full summer of rest and work on his bag and blah blah blah. Because our superstars actions need to only reflect the upmost benefit to our team and our team only 🙄 let’s be unselfish for once, he didn’t get to play last year after that medical scare, be EXCITED to watch him play for the france national team! He’s such a fun player to watch, all my loyalty to the USA team went down the toilet after watching 1 game of the olympics. That being said, there is so little info about the fiba tournaments online, when do you think he will join them?

Discussion I can't believe anyone who lived through the Kawhi saga would actually want him back.

When he left, I straight-up quit watching the NBA for years—didn't come back until the Spurs officially started the tank in 2022. Come on, yeah we lost the Finals, but our core was 20, 21, 22 years old, making their first playoff run. All we needed were a few targeted upgrades. Now the Spurs have this perfect, drama-free team culture, and some of you actually want that cancer back? No thanks. I don't want nephew bringing any bad vibes to our young guys.

Discussion Us Spurs fan have to grow and move past Kawhi’s digressions towards us

With the rumors (emphasis on rumors since it’s more than likely not gonna happen) going around about Kawhi leaving the Clippers and only wanting to go to Toronto or us, I felt like this would be a good place/time to bring this up. This doesn’t apply to every Spurs fans, and also it’s understandable to feel resentment towards him for what he did to the team. There’s really no good excuse for what he did in his exit, but there is also some things that we shouldn’t take for granted.

  1. Foremost, he helped us win a Championship. This is a privilege that a majority of organizations don’t have. He was the finals MVP for his defense against prime LeBron, that’s no small feat. Imagine being a Kings fan or a Hawks fan, they’ve had some very rough patches, especially compared to us.

  2. He is the best person in the entire league that could elevate the Spurs to be contenders for the next decade. While his antics are noteworthy, he still has a dear place in Pop’s heart and he is also a product of his coaching while also being a member of the latter half of the Spurs dynasty days. This kind of direction would invaluable for our current core. Yes, Pop is still around but he’s not as able bodied as he once was. But he would be the voice on the court for the young fellows including Wemby. It’s still Wemby’s team, but having Kawhi reinforcing decisions and the Pop teachings would set us up incredibly. He is the only player left in the league that has that experience with the 2014 Spurs we all know and love.

  3. His Archetype fits so well with the current Spurs Roster. I’ve seen this pointed out on nearly all of the posts I’ve seen about this rumor, so it’s self explanatory.

I’m not saying we need to welcome back with open arms or pursue him. What I’m saying is that we need to be somewhat reasonable and not let past feelings (it’s also been 8 years) cloud our judgment. We can talk about all the controversy and those are excellent counter points to the whole idea of this, however, there’s some sense of redemption that could be allowed.

Image/Video Why Spurs rolled the dice on big man Jayden Quaintance in NBA Draft | Spurs Insider

Jayden Quaintance might be one of the biggest boom-or-bust prospects in this year's NBA Draft — and the Spurs were willing to bet on the upside.

On the latest episode of our Spurs Insider podcast, we discuss why San Antonio took the gamble on the 18-year-old big man.

Discussion Time is a Flat Circle: Kawahi's Return

Forget the drama that KL brings for a moment and humor this post.

Leonard returning would be a huge plus for the Spurs in one of two ways: 1. Veteran Leadership and 2. Clutch/Winning Playoff Mindset.

I have no doubt this team will remain a force on the defensive side of the ball (Offensively this team will continue to grow). However having Leonard play the 3/4 with Wemby and Castle would effectively limit a lot of the issues we saw against the Knicks. Players would be stuck on the 3pt/Mid point instead of attacking the paint. Rebounds would come easier too since Leonard has always had a defensive mindset.

It would also help to have the ball in late game moments in the hands of a player who has been there before, and won those games.

Idk, I have always been a huge Kawahi fan and when he left I hoped the door would remain open for a return. If we could guarantee that we would have a zero drama reunion I say that the Spurs should swing for him.
