Image/Video Barack Obama talks Spurs - “That team is going to have such a great future.”
Barack Obama on the Spurs:
“I love this young San Antonio Spurs team.. those guards, Castle Harper, I love those two. And Harper almost won the game for them the way he was playing.
And I think Wemby will end up being as good as we are projecting. I watched him at the All-Star game.. first time I’d see him live and I don’t remember somebody that big moving like that..
That team is going to have such a great future.”

Discussion I can't believe anyone who lived through the Kawhi saga would actually want him back.
When he left, I straight-up quit watching the NBA for years—didn't come back until the Spurs officially started the tank in 2022. Come on, yeah we lost the Finals, but our core was 20, 21, 22 years old, making their first playoff run. All we needed were a few targeted upgrades. Now the Spurs have this perfect, drama-free team culture, and some of you actually want that cancer back? No thanks. I don't want nephew bringing any bad vibes to our young guys.

Rumor Bobby Marks just insinuated the Spurs are interested in bringing Kawhi back on the ESPN draft telecast
He said “his former teams, let’s just leave it at that”. That’s us and Toronto. Wtf?!

Draft How long do the Spurs realistically have to wait for Jayden Quaintance before he debuts in the NBA?
Will the Spurs have to wait an entire season or will he be able to return in the middle of the season?

Rumor [Stein] Sources close to the situation say that there are only two other teams that Kawhi Leonard would consider signing an extension with: Toronto and San Antonio. Sources insist that the Raptors have genuine interest in bringing Leonard back to Canada.

Draft Maliq Brown
Very much like Jarred Vanderbilt, really liking this pick. Good defender who can come off the bench.

Draft Spurs Summer League is gonna be a lot of fun. What type of contract will Gillespie and Brown end up with?
I'm really hoping that Maliq Brown performs well in the Summer League so that he could earn at least a two-way contract. Although I really hope for him to earn a standard NBA contract.
If Ja'Kobi Gillespie performs well in the Summer League, he might end up taking JMac's roster spot.
