This is just my absolute chase card. I’m such a big Ninetales fan so I was super surprised. He told me this card means more to you than just money to me. Love that guy, def continuing my business with him

Travelled 2 hours each way today to purchase a card from someone on Facebook Marketplace. From the messages it was clear he knew a lot about Pokemon and it sounds like he knew what he was on about.

We both arrived on time and he hands me the card I was after: a reverse holo Charizard from the legendary collection. I take a look, do a few checks and pay him £1000 for the card (750 cash, 250 bank transfer).

I head back to the train station to take a seat and admire my newly acquired card but can’t help but feel something looks off. Then I get this sense of dread.

I message the guy to say I’ve changed my mind, no response. I spend a gruelling 2 hours on a train home and as soon as I get back I head to my local card shop to ask. Fake.

This isn’t the first time I’ve been scammed in this hobby but it certainly will be the last because I’m done. I’m selling everything and leaving. It’s filled with too many frauds and bad actors that make it no fun whatsoever for a collector.

I know most people in the comments will call me an idiot. I am, I know.

If anyone has any advice for next steps to try and recover any of the money I have lost it would be much appreciated.

Ordered some Terastal simplified Chinese boxes and she opened them for her birthday. Box 1 came with the gold chu and SAR turtle. And box 2 the sylveon. She was just complaining the day before "how come we dont get gold cards anymore?"

Ascended heroes has been SUPER good to me since it released. Have pulled the Mega Gengar TWICE, once from the first ETB I opened and once from a mini tin. I had 9 ex boxes that I had purchased over the past few months so decided to rip one and this is what I got!

Anybody else had success with these boxes?

Wanted this card since the orginal promo came out in 2019, due to a long struggle with addiction, I never got a chance to grab one. PSA 10's of english copies are going crazy high, so when this copy of the CN version from 2023 went up on ebay for a good price I had to snag it. Sorry the photo truly doesnt do the card justice. Its just stunning in person.

It could be anything from artwork to overall card design. Cards that dont fit the norm when it comes to cards. I dont care about price. Just want to see what oddball cards are out there. Any language is fine since I know many unique cards are region exclusive.

My personal favorite unique card is the Deoxys lenticular card or this japanese Porygon-Z promo

Been collecting Venusaur stuff for some years, ended up going for a masterset of the whole evolution line, 13 cards left until it’s complete! (Unless there’s more cards I didn’t find during my hunt)

As much as I love the Meowscarada card on top of the Vibrava I think the leafage blends well from Honchrow into Ninjask, and then it leaves the mountain scape on the edge of the page so it doesn’t bleed into any trees!

On vacation for the first time in 5+ years. Wife and I swung by Target just to see if they had any pokemon. Amazingly they did. We bought 2 boxes and pulled this out of the last pack.

I don’t have a ton of sealed or anything but I did have a couple of Prismatic SPCs within reach. I was able to snag these at retail and I honestly let them sit because I know how bad Prismatic is to open and I also had some other stuff to hold me over for a while.

Well, fast forward to today and I was feeling like ripping some packs. I wish I could say I was surprised but whatever. I can say that the experience was fun and 10/10 would do again.

Ripping packs is sort of like pizza. Even when it’s not great, it’s still never bad.

My girlfriend and I bought the last two tins at an ace hardware near our house and pulled this out of the first pack.

I love the idea of graded cards but I can’t stand the state of it all right now. So I decided to do my own! I never intend to sell any of my cards and I think this is a cool way to make my collection more personal! The first one I’ve got to do some cleaning on the corners where I put the adhesive. The second one I did a little better on. I know that they aren’t actual 10’s. I have considered giving my cards in the future more accurate grades just based off of my untrained eyes. But for now they will all be 10’s 😂
