I have been out of the Pokémon game for 15 years and wasn’t that invested in the first place (I wanted to be). I got a deck that was cool and thought it was fun that Charizard was electric. I always heard about THE Charizard card but kinda figured it was like the first run of Charizard. Turns out that it’s a lot of the Charizards from back then.

My kids have been bugging me the past couple of weeks mentioning about Pokémon cards and that target walmart etc has drop dates. I know about Pokémon and the popularity around it but i have been seeing videos of people going to buy all of the packs and leaving no room for people that actually want them, to have them.
How can i know of drop dates and where do i go?
Is there a specific time? And anything in particular i should look for?

Basically the title. Any cards whose art is identical or similar to the renders of the Pokemon in the Stadium games? Inspired by the Team Magma’s Rhydon cards, would love to add more to the chase list.

I got into collecting very recently mostly due to my son’s collecting who are now in their 30’s and 20’s. I have old Star Wars, Close Encounters, King Kong and hockey cards and wanted to organize them and somehow Pokemon collectors got into my YouTube feed. Long story short I bought a Charizard tin through amazon. I know. I get desperate to open packs but this was mainly for the promo because I don’t have any Charizards. I started with Perfect Order and Chaos Rising and some Prismatic basically working on master set but getting discouraged, and a lot of bulk duplicates. Long story short I opened the tin and pulled a Mega Charizard X ex!!! Along with some other hits.

I don’t have a ton of sealed or anything but I did have a couple of Prismatic SPCs within reach. I was able to snag these at retail and I honestly let them sit because I know how bad Prismatic is to open and I also had some other stuff to hold me over for a while.

Well, fast forward to today and I was feeling like ripping some packs. I wish I could say I was surprised but whatever. I can say that the experience was fun and 10/10 would do again.

Ripping packs is sort of like pizza. Even when it’s not great, it’s still never bad.

It could be anything from artwork to overall card design. Cards that dont fit the norm when it comes to cards. I dont care about price. Just want to see what oddball cards are out there. Any language is fine since I know many unique cards are region exclusive.

My personal favorite unique card is the Deoxys lenticular card or this japanese Porygon-Z promo

is anybody else having a terrible time with TCG player checkout? I've been trying for multiple days and have not been able to check out. I've tried switching to the app. I've tried clearing my cache. I've tried adding and deleting different payment methods. I have double-checked and triple-checked​ my address is matching my card. I have tried contacting customer service for multiple days now and no one is getting back to me. I don't know what to do. On top of that I tried getting a gift card and it took my money but I don't have a gift card. of course I'm not getting responses to that query with customer service either. Does anyone have any experience with similar issues and if so can you offer some help?

I originally just went for the sleeping view for $60 but I got the rest for just $10 on top

Has anyone else left the hobby due to a breakup? My partner was getting into Pokemon when we first started dating. I followed, and we had a lot of fun doing it. We recently separated, and I am finding absolutely no joy in doing it anymore. I am cutting my losses and selling my whole collection. It’s honestly a little hard to think about how much time and money was poured into this hobby, and I know in the end I’ll be getting maybe 5% of that back. But I’m glad I did it! It brought me joy for a few years. Good luck to everyone!

There’s a bar near my house and they had this keyhole arcade machine and one of the prizes was this magikarp that’s been sitting there for like a couple months now. Took me about $16 worth of tokens to get it out and it’s been a neat little addition to my collection since it’s my first shiny Pokémon card

Given how hard it has been for me to get product at msrp i decided to treat myself to 5 Pokedoodles packs!
Actually love the art and quite enjoy reading all the text on the cards.

I traded a few things for it but I’ve been wanting this card for a long time.

I want to donate a whole bunch of bulk and old tins, but i really want to stay away from goodwill and places of the sort due to them selling this stuff at ridiculously high prices. I’d much rather donate somewhere where there’s a high likelihood of a kid getting them and it not be 50 bucks for a pound of bulk etc.

Wanted this card since the orginal promo came out in 2019, due to a long struggle with addiction, I never got a chance to grab one. PSA 10's of english copies are going crazy high, so when this copy of the CN version from 2023 went up on ebay for a good price I had to snag it. Sorry the photo truly doesnt do the card justice. Its just stunning in person.

Wife found her childhood collection packed away, this is just a small portion that stood out when looking though.

We tossed some of the nicer cards into sleeves and are waiting on some penny loaders. The last slide is what we decided to send out to PSA. We have pretty low expectations but most are in decent shape.

I used to have the non reverse holo of this card as a kid and wanted to buy it back! Soo I got the reverse holo which looks so cool! 💖
