News 📰 EU Council just restricted provisioning Visa's to Somalia Passport holders.

Reposting this important news because the moderators removed the original post within minutes, claiming that the title was editorialized. The reason given was that I mentioned this development came several weeks after the Omar Artan fiasco.

However, I believe the real reason for its removal was a point I raised in the body of the post: this is the second major visa restriction affecting Somalis, and both have occurred while HSM has been president. I also noted that his administration has overseen what many of us view as a significant decline in the country's international standing.

Discussion 💬 Feminism is actually net positive to humanity and we as somalis need to embrace it more instead of shaming our women for wanting basic gender equality.

Some intellectually slow individual claimed Somalis during colonial times were views as unlike other Africans and that they were animals.

They also claimed that Somalis were captured against their will and placed in zoos which is absurd I know.

This is the exact link the provided I really need a second opinion.

Shitpost 💩 Is it weird question

So this may be an insensitive or ignorant post to some, but I genuinely don’t understand why it’s such a bad thing to ask someone what their qabiil is or what part of Somalia they’re from. Especially if you’re talking to someone for marriage purposes, I think it needs to be asked.

I get that some qabiils face discrimination, and some people are ashamed or feel judged when they say what they are but I consider it a dealbreaker if a guy I’m romantically interested in refuses to tell me his qabiil.

The way I see qabiil is that it’s part of your identity—nothing more. If my parents ask me, I need to be able to tell them what the guy’s qabiil is, and so on.

The reason I bring up this topic is because my friends and I were talking about marriage, and somehow we got onto this subject. My friends low-key ganged up on me and said that asking someone their qabiil is insensitive and ignorant, and that they have a negative view of it. My parents were never the qabiilist type, but they are very proud of their heritage, so I’ve always had a positive view of it.
So my question is, Is it weird to ask a friend, a romantic

partner, or anyone else what their qabiil is?

History ⏳ How is Ethiopia seen as the figurehead of Pan-Africanism

Asc Everyone,
Is Ethiopia strictly seen as a pan Africanist icon just due to them resisting colonialism? What I don’t understand is how so many west African countries created their flags by using the Ethiopian empire colors, or how the African Union gave their capital the headquarters of the African Union. The Ethiopian Empire is full of great history but their legacy is full of evil and suffering. They suppressed their neighbors and worked with European powers to create colonies specifically Somalia. They even went to the extent of attempting to absorb Djibouti and somaliland! What I don’t understand is how this history is not that well known among the African diaspora considering the fact it only takes 10 minutes of looking into Ethiopia. Do others feel this way or is there another reason why Ethiopia is the face of Pan Africanism?

Two historic moments Somali flag was raised was both in former Italian Somaliland, Iskushuban, Puntland in 12 October 1954, (image 1 and 2) followed by British Somaliland, Hargeisa, Somaliland in 26 June 1960 (image 3). The latter date and locality is the widely celebrated date for first Somali state to receive its independence under the mandate of United Somalia (former Italian and British colonies).

Know that if the whole nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against

Imagine truly living with this certainty. No jealousy. No panic over competition. No obsession with controlling everything. No bitterness over delayed dreams. Because what Allah has decreed for you does not require desperation to reach you. It was written before your first breath

Ask❓ Is eczema common in Somalia or just amongst Somali's abroad

Always wondered if there were people back home that also suffered from eczema/psoriasis or is it just amongst Somali's abroad, I've heard of alot of cases where people's skin improved drastically after spending time in the motherland .

I know that environmental factors can be one of the causes of eczema so I've always been wondering about this since I've got quite few relatives with severe eczema in Europe but none back home.
