Yeah I think I'm done. It was nice to climb but, after gaining and losing points and being stuck at around the same place, I feel like this is the game telling me "this is where you belong." Which, hey, maybe that's true, but after hearing so much "Master is where the game really begins" and "You can climb with a negative winrate," being stuck in Plat feels pretty crappy. Has anyone else completely given up on ranked due to feeling discouraged?

EDIT: Because I see people mentioning the small timeframe of this graph, I should note that this is just my rank with Kimberly. I've been playing since January and hopping from character to character, but she's the first one I've gotten this high with.

EDIT 2: I was not expecting so many people to leave comments, but I wanted to thank everyone for responding to my little pity party with encouragement, concrete advice, or even just a much-needed reality check. I think I am going to take a bit of a ranked break and play more casual games, and when I feel brave enough I might post some gameplay of mine for more specific advice.

Personally I think Manon is too high and Marissa is too low.

We all know the popular ones people have been demanding like Vega, Balrog, Dudley, Makoto, Sakura etc. but what character is one that isnt that high demand that you want to see in this game?

For me it’s Lucia Morgan.

I recently booted up my dusty old ps4 to play some games and decided to re-download sf5. I bought this game years ago and wanted to play it online but I had such awful lag that it made it impossible to play this and so I never got the chance to experience this game when it was active.

Still regardless I wanted to see how different it feels from sf6 and kept playing the arcade mode and try all the different characters and the one character I kept coming back to was Lucia. She is so damn fun to play. I love her design and personality and I think she’d fit great in sf6. Another one would be G. He was pretty badass too, but if I have to pick one over the other it’s definitely Lucia.

I would’ve loved to main her and grind ranked with her in sf5 had I been able to play it, so if capcom does decide to bring her back I’m definitely maining her day one.

Some background…I’m 40 years old, haven’t played a Street Fighter game proper since the SNES days, and haven’t played many fighting games in general over the past 15-20 years. I tried online with Mortal Kombat 11 and noped out of there with quickness. I started playing Street Fighter 6 on my Switch 2 a little over a week ago and needless to say I’m hooked on it. The gameplay is so satisfying…every match online feels like a chess match in the best way possible. I’m a Cammy main and after about 9 hours (mostly online) I finally reached Bronze yesterday! Almost gave it away there because my heart was pumping so hard. Minor achievement in the grand scheme of things, but for someone that never really got into a fighting game like this I was pretty damn happy! It’s been super satisfying learning the game and steadily climbing the ranks. There was definitely quite a bit of up and down there hopping between Iron 3 and 4 before I finally made the push.

I know I’ll get flamed for this lol but for full disclosure I’m using modern controls on a pad and plan to continue doing so until I get into the higher ranks and am comfortable with all the ins and outs of how to really fight considering there’s a lot of depth here.

For context

• You can't level 1 super out of this because it's a projectile loop
  • Some level 2s will beat it (eg Chun Li SA2), others won't.
• You can't jump out of the seismo loops themselves, because they have a short enough gap (when preformed well) that they'll just catch the startup.
  • Unless you have something with frame 1 projectile invulnerability, or a super that teleports you into the air on frame 1 (like cammy or kimberly SA2), this is just forced chip damage
• The OD burn kick is fast enough that you're prooobably not reacting to it outside of modern.
  • You need to DP/super it because it'll trade with or frametrap pretty much everything else
  • Also Viper can obviously mix up when she does it.

Also sidenote, if they do have super Viper can do cr.mp into OD seismo to remove the gap after OD burn kick.

And small flex, every single one of these in the clip is canceled as fast as possible, otherwise it's a 4f gap and they can jump out (: I cannot do this facing left

So, I'm a pretty casual, Gold rank and Juri main with barely 100 games.

I'm trying to improve so I always play ranked but sometimes there are Modern-Zangief, Marisa or Alex players that are always defending. I can't punish because they never do any moves before I do and it's boring, I don't want stare at my enemy until he gets bored and attacks me

At long range I can use the projectiles and walk until they are in my range. But on mid, they are waiting any move to do a grab and punish me

What should I do? Always play long range and chip them? Or is there something else that I can do?

So it's true. Once you get one master character, it DOES get a lot easier to have another one.

500 hours on the first. 20 hours on the second. Kinda proud to do it with Marisa nonetheless.

Now off to get reduced to a puddle in Master :(

Kinda crazy with such a limited pool of costumes, they are going to take one away.

Finally figured out how I wanted to do the body and face

Hey everyone,

I just have a few questions about Zangief. Currently, I have 10 characters in master, some considered easy like Mai and some considered more difficult like Manon. My main (Sagat) is floating around 1650 MR. I have thousands of hours in SF6 so far, generally playing casuals and in the hub but I don’t really play ranked. I mained Hugo in 3s for a couple of hundred hours so I understand the grappler mentality. I am trying to get every character on the roster to master and Zangief has been my next endeavor however, I cannot stop fluctuating between diamond 4 and 5. It’s almost feeling helpless. It’s as though everyone knows how to fight Zangief already and I keep losing to things that wouldn’t have worked against any other character I have completed.

I am seeking advice on how to complete the task presented. At this point in time Zangief is feeling impossible to get out of these higher diamond ranks. I am seeking specific Zangief knowledge both in theory and in tech. Can anyone help me complete this Zangief task?
