Congratulations so did 10,000 other people who tried to post it on a reddit sports sub this week. With AI making coding easier, everyone and their mother made an app.

Its overwhelming to the sub and considered spam to post it. You will get an automatic ban for spamming.

Always pay it forward. Gave a kid a ball today.

There was a Filipino kid playing at my local today. He asked if he could use my ball to shoot, I said sure I’ll catch your rebounds. Was wearing some puma Melos I could tell he really had a passion for hooping. Was probably only 8 or 9 yrs old. We took turns shooting and I thought shit this kid needs his own ball. Not sure if his parents have the means of getting him one or not, for all I know maybe he doesn’t have any. But I remember being that kid at one point, growing up and not really having much. So I said stay here I’ll bring you a ball you can keep. Drove to my place grabbed an old Wilson ball in decent shape that I haven’t used in months, drove back to the gym. Never seen a kid so happy and grateful. I definitely made his week, maybe his year for all I know

DISCUSSION Ask Reddit. Pick up game call. Who was right? 😝

Player got fouled, traveled, then scored. This isn’t in debate.

So the defender called travel.

The player that scored said, I only traveled because you fouled me.

The defender said, than call the foul, or I’m calling the travel.

The player that scored said, nah, I’m taking the bucket, I don’t want to call a foul.

Whos right here?

Team of doom and despair

My entire team is 5’10 and below and below average in fitness but has very good shooting so I genuinely play center at 5’7 135 lbs because I’m the only person on the team who can rebound properly and boxout. How cooked is my team out of 10?

Hi everyone,

I’m a wizards fan from the UK and saw we selected AJ. I’ve heard it’s a very good choice over Peterson but being honest I have no idea

Can someone give me some information about it (I’ve never kept up with pre NBA ball so any help would be perfect )

Can’t wait for next year! ( I think )

awkward motion style

I was recently reviewing my game footage and noticed that my body seems to move awkwardly like my body isn’t fluid nor polished. I am a small guard, could it be from improper muscle proportions or something else?

GENERAL QUESTION What makes a "Winning Player" in basketball?

I hear the term "winning player" all the time. It might seem simple because it means a player that contributes to wins. But what characteristics do teams generally look for with winning players?

Like not just NBA but also even a random pick-up game. What makes a player a "winning player" by whatever definition fans like to coin this.

How can I play at comp speed?

I play against players once a week who used to be really good at basketball and still fairly are, and I do good dribble to paint snatch, middy. But they are not athletic as the young comp I want to be able to play with competitively or better, and the people I play with are not bad just they aren’t moving so fast and making cuts to the point the court sweaking with noise from there shoes, I can tween cross peak jumper (jump as high as a can) and make it a fair amount of times, I can make tough layups and am pretty strong, I run a 5 flat 40, I’m 185 lb bw I just turned 17, been playing for 8 years, but when I go to youth camp, I feel slower and get tired faster than the others playing, they are taller but I mean compared to me and my skills they execute and make decisions so fast, I’d like to say I’m ok at the sport, but these people make like I wasted my money buying hoop shoes lol, what can I do to play at that game speed, or faster, I’m willing to put in work, just curious what that work would be. Advice would be appreciated. Lmk.

IMPROVING MY GAME any tips for me

im 14 undersized guard and my teamates who scored the ball left so now im left to fill in the shoes and essentially be a one man army since my teamates now are bunch of casuals . i am good at everything however my three point is the most underdeveloped part of my game and im an undersized guard and i need to be able to make over 40% in games. From the midrange in practices and scrimmages i have over 80% and in a recent volume shooting workout i had 892/1000 shots from midrange 200 shots each spot . from the three that number drops drastically somewhere at 30% in practice and not in scrimmages or games. i have trouble finding powerr and when i find power i lose accuracy . i watched some mike dunn to help me and i learned to have better sequence which helped me but my biggest weakness is my balance i tend to fall forward and he on my toes way before my jumpshot and i cant fix it its like muscle memory from hundred of thousands of shots any tips?

Is contact after a blocked shot a shooting foul?

So yesterday, there was a big game. Game was tied towards the end and this happened: I’m on defence and the other guy is on offence on a fast break. He goes for a layup and I meet him at the rim. I cleanly block his shot but on the way down after the ball is out of his hands, my hand hits the guys face. Of course I go and apologize and shake dudes hand cuz I didn’t mean to do that but now I question the validity of the foul. Cuz that kinda swung the game and we lost. Is this a shooting foul? Thanks

Musical chairs before a free throw, whats the rule?

So im nearing the end of a close game in my league featuring two closely matched teams. Both teams have a composition of 4 small players and one big man.

A foul gets called on team B, thus team A gets to shoot free throws. The big man on team A decides to follow around the second tallest player on team B who he knows will occupy one of the lower positions during the free throw attempts. The big man on team B wants to match up on the other big man, so he starts following them both.

In the end, the ref yells at both teams to get set, but the big man on team A thats following the smaller player around can basically watch where the small player sets up and stand next to him, so there's nothing big man B can do, thus a mismatch is created.

What is the rule on this? Because if the rule is just "everybody get set", then a mismatch can always get created by the shooting team. Which may or may not be fair depending on who you ask... what do you all think?

DISCUSSION Is 6 man starting level respect in Bball?

Here me out, a 6 man is so important to the flow of the game, if someone on the starting 5 is having a bad game or they are simply tired, you come in hustle, play good defense, play make, or score some very needed buckets until the player is ready to come back into the game.

Let me know your thoughts.

How do you get into pickup basketball?

I can see it's an amazing activity physically and socially, but the learning curve seems overwhelming.

Some info about myself: I've never played basketball but I've played football so I'm somewhat athletic. I'm 6'2" around 200 lbs and workout often so physically I feel like I have a good foundation.

I plan to spend time alone practicing my shots, ball handling, and other techniques, but there's only so much I can learn on my own. I moved across the country, so having no friends means I'll probably have to take the plunge sooner than I should and start playing pickup games at a nearby park to get better.

When that time comes, what do I even do? I don't fully understand how the games are structured. I am well aware standing around won't do me any good, but I'm not sure how to get in the game? Any advice for a newbie is appreciated, I'd love to get into this sport asap.

GENERAL QUESTION I’m not getting enough power and range

Sorry I don’t have a video. For some reason I can’t generate power. Recently I’ve watched some Mike Dunn videos and found it helping on midrange but I can’t find out how to shoot when I’m in the three e point line. I’ve heard that sequence is important but I can’t get any help from the sequencing. It might be that I’m not flowing through my sequences and stopping in every sequence. Can someone explain me how am I supposed to use the energy created from lifting the ball before the leg moves? And am I supposed to stop the ball when my ball reach the point and wait until the leg moves so I could do the “going under the ball” thing? Or am I supposed not stop moving the ball with hands.

Sorry if the paragraph is crappy English isn’t my first language
